It was past eight o'clock in the evening, and Kiyomi Liuli pouted as she left the Nanahara house. A breeze blew as she looked around at the dimly lit streetlights and the shadows swaying between the trees. Remembering the "ghost stories" she had just heard, she subconsciously got a bit spooked and scurried back home.
As usual, she called out "I'm back" at the entrance, slipped off her rounded-toe leather shoes, and was about to head to her room.
Kiyomi Koko was tidying up in the living room when she called out to her, "Did you have dinner at Mr. Nanahara's place again?"
Kiyomi Liuli, still pondering whether there were such things as "unclean beings" in the world, casually responded from the foot of the stairs, "Yes, Mom, what about it?"
Kiyomi Koko said with a hint of exasperation, "What about it? How many times have you eaten dinner at his place? I haven't seen you at dinner time at all for over a week."
