After seeing the skeleton, Lucian was confident the skeleton had been moved.
As for why and who did it? Lucian was unsure.
It would not make sense for Wang Ming to send someone here. The more people knew about the fact he ordered an assassin to kill his son, the greater the chance it could become public information.
Lucian carefully examined the surroundings and soon noticed two bony footsteps on the ground leading to the skeleton.
This detail reassured him that it was just an Undead Magical Beast, probably an Undead Skeleton that got lonely and decided to find a partner…
Knowing it was not some weird, elaborate plan, Lucian breathed a sigh of relief, berated himself for being too paranoid, and quickly walked over to the skeleton.
Crouching down, Lucian lightly touched the skeleton's shoulder with a finger and placed it in his inventory. He then ran to a place just outside the range of the strongest guard, a Tendon Tempering Mage, ensuring he would not be discovered.
Once Lucian found a suitable spot near a tree, he summoned the skeleton onto the ground and covered it in leaves, making it look like a natural part of the forest.
Now, all he had to do was find the skeleton accidentally.
Lucian controlled the Mana in his Mana Veins to travel down to his not-so-little brother and quickly felt a familiar sensation.
Mana had many uses as long as one understood how to utilize it.
While indifferently smirking, Lucian unzipped his pants and got down to business.
A golden river splashed on the tree's trunk and trickled down onto the leaves below. A few droplets even splashed on the poor dead skeleton.
Meanwhile, the System was speechless and a bit ashamed of its Host. It robotically coughed and then said in disgust:
[Shameless.]
Lucian was not offended and laughed internally.
[System, you should blame Chef Lucian. If not for his Soul, I would not have thought of such an idea.]
After the last drop trickled out of his chorizo, Lucian zipped his pants and frowned in disgust at his right hand. Even though not even a droplet fell on his hand, as a chef and in general, one should always thoroughly wash their hands after using the bathroom.
As Lucian hesitated whether to look for a river to wash his hands, he suddenly remembered Hervy was a Water Element Mage.
But that would have to wait. Lucian looked around with his Mana Sense and discovered that he had not been spotted. He knew he had to stage the discovery of the skeleton convincingly.
Lucian took a few steps toward the caravan, and just as he got into the range of the Tendon Tempering Mage's Mana Sense, he paused, pretending to notice something out of the corner of his eye.
Lucian's indifferent expression changed to a frown as he whispered to himself:
"What's that?" He then walked over to the tree.
—-----------
Back at the caravan, the Tendon Tempering Mage frowned when he heard Lucian's words. He waited for Lucian to enter his Mana Sense range again, but even after a few seconds, he did not see the chef.
Knowing that Lucian was a friend of Lion's Liver, he approached Garrett and told him.
"Garrett, I heard Lucian whisper that he found something. Should we go check?"
Garrett's eyes narrowed, and he looked at Sir Orchard for permission.
James was also curious, so he nodded.
"Take a few of my guards and leave your party members here."
No matter how hard Hervy, Lane, Cody, and Coby tried to hide their ascension, James knew the moment he laid his eyes on them. However, since they meant no harm to him, he did not expose them. After all, the stronger they were, the safer he would be.
Garrett followed the instructions and took five guards, with the Tendon Tempering Mage taking the lead, while unaware that his friends' Mage Ranks had been discovered.
They headed in the direction the Tendon Tempering Mage last saw Lucian.
When they arrived, Garrett saw Lucian crouching next to a tree. He approached and called out curiously:
"Owner Lucian, what did you find?"
Lucian, who was kneeling by the tree, looked at Garrett and motioned over with his hands.
"Look at this." Lucian pointed at the skeleton's Spatial Ring "Do you recognize this?"
Garrett approached, curious about what Lucian had found. When he saw the skeleton, there was no change in his expression, but when his gaze shifted to the Spatial Ring the skeleton was wearing, his eyes widened in surprise.
As a former resident of Harmony City, he had seen that bull symbol many times.
It was the Wang Family's Crest!
Garrett's heart pounded as he thought of the consequences of the discovery.
After a moment, he quickly turned to Lucian and said in a low voice that everyone could hear.
"This… This is the Wang Family's Crest! How did this person die?"
Lucian indifferently shrugged. For a moment, he was tempted to ask Garrett if he was stupid. From the fact that the person had been reduced to a skeleton, it was obvious he had been attacked by an Undead Magical Beast. However, he chose to remain tight-lipped.
At that moment, the Tendon Tempering Mage stepped closer and examined the Spatial Ring without touching it. After making sure it was an authentic Wang Family's Spatial Ring, his voice became worried at the implications.
"I once saw the same exact Spatial RIng on the second Young Master Wang's finger." He glanced at the skeleton, noticing it was much shorter than the second Young Master, and continued "This should either be a member of their family or someone close to them. Garrett, we should report this to the Wang Family."
Garrett nodded heavily. He carefully slid the Spatial Ring off the skeleton's finger and extended it to Lucian.
"Owner Lucian, since you were the one to find the skeleton, you should keep the Spatial Ring for now. You will likely receive some rewards from the Wang Family as a contribution."
