Thankfully, Lucian quickly regained his balance and continued to walk down the street.
Gritting his teeth, Lucian growled:
[Fuck, I knew I shouldn't trust you! Those web novels and anime were right!]
The System was internally speechless. If it had eyes, it would have rolled them in exasperation.
The System thought for a bit, then honestly replied:
[Host, I am not all-knowing nor all-powerful. I only know as much as I am allowed to. When the Host was given the Quest, at the same time, I was given information. The information only stated that the Quest was fair and reasonable. I was not given a method on how to complete the Quest.]
Lucian furrowed his brows but then relaxed.
'So it's someone else who gives me Quests. That's good to know.'
Lucian always had an inkling that the System was not the one giving him Quests, and now it seemed he was correct. Now the question was, if it was not the System, then who was issuing those Quests?
'Haah, whatever. I will know in the future. At least now I know more than I did before.'
After a few moments, as Lucian waited in the queue to leave Harmony City, he explained:
[The Quest never explicitly stated that it had to be me who brings the skeleton to the Wang Family.]
[...] The System was stunned. It checked the Quest details and suddenly realized Lucian was correct. The Quest did not explicitly state that Lucian had to present the skeleton himself to the Wang Family. It was a simple loophole, yet incredibly effective.
While the System was still stunned by how simple the Quest was, it was finally Lucian's turn to be inspected.
A middle-aged male Dwarf city guard with a clipboard in hand scanned Lucian's body with Mana Sense.
After giving the young man a once over with his Mana Sense, he hoarsely said:
"Alright, young man, you're good to go."
Lucian nodded, pushed the door open, and exited.
Each of the four cardinal directions of Harmony City had two ways of entering and exiting the city. One method was the large city gates, which were reserved for only Magical Beast riders, carriages, caravans, and basically anything that could not fit through a door. The other method was through a door situated beside the city gates, which Lucian had just exited from.
A minute later, the System composed itself and said:
[Host, you are quite wise. The Quest simply requires the skeleton to be delivered to the Wang Family.]
After hearing the System's words, Lucian, who was running back to Thunderfall City, allowed a momentary small, satisfied smirk to grace his lips. By allowing Garrett to handle everything, Lucian could easily avoid trouble. Now, he just had to wait and receive his rewards.
Thinking of the rewards, Lucian was quite excited. Upgrading the System would give him many benefits, which though were still unknown, he was sure they would help him.
Lucian smirked as he thought about the Shop feature.
'Soon I can start wearing some nice clothes.'
As for the free restaurant upgrade that came with the System Upgrade, that was useless because he already had a restaurant upgrade coupon.
On second thought, he could always save the coupon.
Then there was the second reward — the Spatial Farm. From the name, Lucian understood it was a spatial Artifact, containing a farm.
In Lucian's opinion, the Spatial Farm was useless. Why would he need a farm when the System provided the best quality ingredients for free?

In a dark room, a purple-haired, middle-aged man was sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed.
Around him were piles of Mid-Grade Spirit Stones all being absorbed into his body. Purple miasma swirled around his body.
*Knock* *Knock*
Hearing his room's door being knocked on, Wang Ming frowned. His eyes flashed purple, and his vision penetrated through the door.
Behind the door was a black-robed assassin with a number ten white mask. Wang Ming Grumpily asked:
"What did you want? I'm busy."
The assassin shuddered and quickly bowed to the door… no, to the terrifying man behind the door.
"Your Excellency number eighty-nine spotted James Orchard and his caravan coming to your mansion."
Wang Ming frowned. James had already transported the materials he needed a week ago. What would he come back here for? Other than a business relationship, they had no real friendship. Wang Ming could care less about what happened to James
A moment later, he asked:
"Do you know what he's coming here for?"
The assassin continued in a respectful tone:
"No, your Excellency."
Wang Ming snorted.
"Bunch of useless fellows! Why do I waste my resources on a bunch of insects!?"
The assassin shuddered with his head still bowed as low as possible. Number ten knew better than to respond when his master was angry.

A few minutes later, in the great hall of the Wang Mansion, Wang Ming sat on a throne at the farthest end of the hall. His eyes were closed, and his previous appearance was nowhere to be seen. The purple miasma that swirled around him had been contained, giving him a deceptively ordinary appearance.
He now looked no different than a black-haired, black-eyed middle-aged Human.
—--------------
Outside the Wang Family mansion, a caravan protected by twenty guards and five adventurers stopped.
From the leading carriage, a potbellied smiling man exited and looked at the mansion with a smile.
The two guards outside the mansion gates bowed to him and respectfully said:
"Welcome, Sir Orchard! Our Clan Head is in the great hall. Please go in." Then, they opened the gates and moved to either side of the gates.
James nodded. He was not surprised that the Wang Family knew he was coming to their mansion. Their influence was spread through Harmony City. Even the slightest movement would not go unnoticed by them.
James turned his head and looked at the members of Lion's Liver and said:
"Garrett, bring your friends with you, let's go in. Remember to be respectful."
