"Here is your blood wine, lord Kyro."
An attendee clad in black armour from head to toe, presented a traditional chalice to the person who was sitting on the throne. The man shakily shoved the glass chalice in front of him, with literal blood and lemon mix which he called blood wine.
The supreme lord extended his hand and grabbed his delicious drink. The heirloom rings on his hands indicated his aristocratic status and authority. The man glanced at the shivering attendee who suspected and acknowledged it fully that his life would end if his lord did not like the drink.
After all, the vampires were the new cruel rulers of the society which resulted as a post apocalyptic effect in that realm. The human attendee was fully aware of the consequences of offending the supreme noble lord. However, due to the darkness in the hall he could not clearly access Kyro's expressions.
The building was a deliberately ruined cathedral to lower down its holy effects. And ironically it was the resting place of the vampire lord Kyro. The world was in chaos after the vampires intruded and became the rulers. However, the society somehow still flourished and humans survived within the severe status quo.
"Mm? Which blood group is it today?"
Lord Kyro, the man on the throne cast a stern look at his personal attendee to inquire about the quality of the blood. The man grew reluctant but knew he had to speak to keep his head intact. One small mistake could make him get reduced in a cadaver, just like the other dead bodies laying on the floor.
The whole cathedral was dark and the huge windows were covered with dark shaded cloth. Minimum rays of light were peeking inside the hall, which had nothing but numerous dead bodies. Skulls and many decaying bodies were laying on the floor near the cathedral walls. It was still unclear whether the people were reduced to that state for blood or something else.
"O positive, my lord."
There was utter worry over his face, as the sweat beads appeared on his temples and crawled down on his chin. Kyro swirled the drink by rotating the chalice and then took a sip to savour the taste. Surprisingly he was able to ignore the pungent stench of the dead bodies to focus on his drink.
Just as Kyro was devouring his drink and the sweet- sour taste of the blood taken from a virgin woman. An arrow cleverly aimed at him hit the chalice and broke it. The glass shattered into thousands of pieces and fell in his lap. The last few drops of blood fell over his white suit like a warning of upcoming treachery.
"The audacity!"
Lord Kyro shot up from his throne which was nearly in the dark where no light was falling. He held the arrow which was blocked by him reflexively in his hand. It was the moment when the attendee dashed away and another tall burly man appeared. Kyro waited for him impatiently till the light fell over his half burnt face.
The man chuckled lightly and dawdled towards the throne, his gait had utter confidence and a victorious smile was on his face. Due to the enormous hall there was still some distance between the throne and the spot where that man was. Kyro's eyes widened upon seeing his face, it was obvious he recognised that man immediately.
"Hah! Finally I got you, Kyro!"
Ceres grinned and licked his lips, malice reeked from him as he appeared confident. Kyro reflexively dropped that arrow on the white marbled floor. He was enraged and in fury Kyro completely ignored the fact that his hand started to burn for some unknown reason.
"You! How dare yo-"
His confrontation got interrupted with the blurry vision, which made Kyro stagger a bit in his place. A shock creased over his face as held his head and tried to take a step further. Kyro intended to move towards Ceres, the man who poisoned him with that blood wine.
"How did I dare? Just like you dared to steal my throne!"
Ceres made the remark and halted there in the place, he acknowledged that now Kyro could not do any possible damage. Kyro was one of the supreme vampiric noble lords who held extreme potential to cause chaos.
In normal circumstances, Ceres would not have dared to offend or approach Kyro. But now that Ceres had found the poison which could slowly kill him. He had chosen the most painful way to trap Kyro, the blood from a virgin woman was like a poison for vampires. And particularly for that reason, all humans were forced to mate sooner or later.
Kyro's crimson eyes glowed but he could not move an inch, his paralyzed body slumped on the floor over knees. His long hair rested on the back and brushed against the floor. Kyro had never felt helpless before which made him panic inwardly. His crimson eyes glared at Ceres with resentment, revenge and anger.
"Hah! See, you are now on your knees in front of me. The great noble lord, Kyro, is bowing in front of me!"
Ceres chuckled menacingly as he raised his hands up in the air and the curtains flapped. Kyro tried to move his hand upon seeing that ceres' attention was invested in enjoying his victory.
After all, he had waited a long time for that moment. The vampires had invaded the earth and a cataclysmic situation was created. It enabled the earth to open numerous portals all by itself due to the mana fluctuations and the outburst of multiple energies. The earth from supposedly galaxy A became abridged with other galaxies and planets.
Numerous other worlds and creatures tried to invade the earth Kyro was ruling. But due to him being a powerful noble he defeated them all. Although the success which came easy made him grow a bit careless. Kyro could comprehend that nobody could drag him down and that overconfident thinking got him poisoned.
He had never imagined in his nightmare that Ceres would have taken him down that way. Kyro stared at him while trying to move his hand, the ring on his finger glowed bright red which was an extra power source for him. Ceres on the other hand was celebrating his victory by blabbering to himself.
"I am surprised how this victory did not leave a bad taste in your mouth. It would have been manly if you had attacked from the front rather than stabbing from behind. Hah! Victory? My foot!"
Kyro deliberately tried to provoke him, acknowledging that Ceres would most likely give in. He knew that a virgin's blood was a slow poison, and he needed to stall Ceres until he found out the cure. And the best way was to prevent Ceres from killing him right at that moment.
After all, a cruel punishment was better than dying miserably at the hands of a weak vampire. Ceres was a weak vampire by birth but his shrewdness covered up for his physical health. For some reason he could only not get sick until the human blood circulated in his body until the energy was consumed fully.
"Wolves may lose their teeth but not his nature, huh?"
Ceres raised his one eyebrow in amusement upon seeing that Kyro was still reluctant to accept his defeat. He walked forward and crouched down near Kyro with an evil grin over his face. Acknowledging that he can't move Ceres lifted his face by forcefully grabbing his jaw.
"It doesn't matter how I brought you down. Because you are already dying, slowly and painfully. Right?"
He applied pressure on Kyro's jaw to ensure he would hiss. Ceres gritted his teeth and glared in his eyes while his hideous burnt face was close to Kyro.
Kyro tried to access his essence of power which was in that ring. His hands rested on the thighs while he was in the kneeling position. Ceres was occupied in asserting his victory and dominance over Kyro. What a coward!
"But don't worry, I will rule your realm with good intentions after you are gone."
Ceres made that remark without any idea about the ring. It was like a regular ring which made it impossible for everyone to know about its actual purpose. Kyro transferred his dropping energy level into that ring which doubled it temporarily.
The ring began to glow and burn around his finger, Kyro chuckled while Ceres stood near him. He became confused why Kyro would suddenly chuckle, maybe he had gone mad with the acceptance of reality.
"What? Why are you laughing? Gone mad that soon, huh?"
However, before he could figure out anything Kyro grabbed his neck and pushed him away.
Both men went flying across the hall within just a jiffy, the impact of force was huge which formed a near crater behind Ceres. He was not prepared for it and was caught off guard. Kyro stood there holding him by the neck, as he lifted the man from the floor while strangling him.
"How..how did you? It is impossible!"
Ceres tried to resist and struggled to break free, his voice came out as a stutter while he choked. His shaking dangling legs indicated he was suffocating. Meanwhile, Kyro's evil grin was emphasised by the dim light which fell over his face from the slightly parted curtains.
"You really thought a mere virgin's blood could kill me, huh?"
He remarked mockingly while choking Ceres, even though Kyro knew that the blood could actually kill him. But he could not let himself lose his face in front of a weakling. His hands were shaking as Kyro' breath grew heavy and irregular.
Before Kyro could kill him by breaking his bones, the temporary energy ran out and his grip loosened around Ceres' neck. He seized the chance and threw him off with force. It was the moment when Ceres hysterically laughed and mocked him. Whereas Kyro struggled to get up from the floor, he turned over and supported himself on both palms.
"Hehe! Of course, it can. You can survive for a while but can't escape from your fate, Kyro. You brought an apocalyptic situation in this realm, just so you could exploit the mana on this planet. I am certain that nobody will mourn over your death."
Whatever he said was absolutely true. Even though it was also clear that Ceres attempted Kyro's murder for his own evil gain. None of them are genuinely sincere in anything else than the power. Nonetheless, Kyro coughed hard and spit blood which was the blood wine he drank a while ago.
Kyro knew he would die in no time but what enraged him was the self resentment. All of that happened because of his careless nature and overconfidence. He wished for another chance, a second chance to get whatever he lost. Maybe to change his attitude too if that was even possible.
Ceres enjoyed seeing him quivering and twitching his body in pain. The wincing made him elated and a satisfactory grin appeared on his lips. Meanwhile, Kyro's ring began to glow brighter and burnt on his finger, within no time it broke and a small puff of red smoke appeared.
The blood which Kyro coughed began to move, it spread around him in a circular form. Whereas Ceres was stunned at the whole unusual process, the curtains flapped hard and parted. The light proceeded to come inside as the blood circle began to glow red. Kyro's vision became blurry as he plopped on the ground over his face.
"No! NO! What the hell is this?"
He sprinted forward but the blood circle burnt his skin preventing him from trespassing. The red light began to glow brighter which blinded Ceres. As soon as his vision became clear Kyro was gone. All that was left there were some unfamiliar markings on the floor written in black remnants.
