Chapter 95 - Chapter 94 - Forbidden Forest 02.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Lily was a bit intoxicated, but that didn't stop her from noticing her situation, in the middle of the Forbidden Forest, while Severus had just launched a fire attack on a large structure.

The flames quickly revealed some kind of dome made of webs and creatures like ants emerging from it. "This... he said this was an Acromantula nest..." As her mind cleared, she was even more shocked.

"Severus, what are you doing?!" She immediately screamed in the middle of the forest.

"Stay quiet!" Lily jumped as Snape suddenly appeared in front of her. "I have to set up protection for you, after all, I'm about to fight for hours." Severus said as he began moving his wand, creating a shield to camouflage the girl.

Lily just stood there, paralyzed as Snape did everything, until his gaze returned to her once he finished creating the barrier.

"You're safe here, don't leave and as I said, stay quiet and don't move, I'll take care of the rest. Take this as well, it will alert me if you need help." Snape said, handing her a pendant, something he had bought months ago from Lucinda's family shop.

Lily took it and looked at him somewhat cautiously. "You're planning to go in the middle and fight those things?!" They could hear the sounds of the enormous spiders screeching angrily with their nest catching fire.

"Yes... after all, I am a warrior." Severus said, and in the next moment, he disappeared, reappearing deep in the forest while the creatures were in a frenzy, turning from dozens into hundreds of them.

He appeared, planting his feet on the ground as he looked at all the giant spiders in the darkness, searching for what was causing the fire to burn.

"Let's use this..." Severus took a small potion from his pocket, placing it in his mouth and drinking it. His eyes began to change, gaining the ability to see through the darkness now.

He took another potion and drank it, his muscles seeming to swell a few millimeters, becoming stronger as well. Snape didn't stop there, putting two more potions in his mouth—one that would increase his speed and another to boost his body's energy, something he had been researching for a while. Since wizards weren't interested in making such potions, he had created them, but never thought of selling them since there was no demand.

Now feeling the bodily changes taking effect, he looked ahead, seeing all the details as the spiders circled the edge of the nest while the fire continued spreading, lighting up the Forbidden Forest on this night.

Snape accessed his inventory once more as a sword appeared in front of him. "It's not like Gryffindor's sword, without a doubt. But it will be enough for now. I still haven't been able to create my own..." He let some thoughts slip out loud, taking his stance, preparing his wand in the other hand, waiting patiently.

The giant spiders kept searching until one of them finally spotted Severus standing among the trees and let out a sound that made all the others turn in that direction.

"OHHHHHHHH!!!!" They quickly began charging toward Snape at that moment.

He didn't seem shaken as he watched them and prepared for the clash.

Lily could see many details from a distance with the help of the flames. "I can't believe what I'm seeing..." She murmured, quite scared and even fearing for Snape's life.

The spiders kept coming, running at full speed to reach him, tangling up with one another, creating a kind of wave aiming to kill the human who seemed to be the cause of the fire. Snape quickly noticed this and raised his arm. With a firm motion, he launched himself forward with his wand. A blue lightning bolt shot from it, exploding ahead as a large group of Acromantulas was struck.

Crack

The lightning bolt spread across the entire area, paralyzing many of the spiders as the electricity coursed through the ground near the point of impact, but it still wasn't enough to stop the advancing wave.

He took a step back and cast another spell, creating a giant fireball that shot forward at high speed. A spell he was still learning, the fireball exploded rapidly, being even more effective than the lightning, as fire was a weakness of the giant spiders.

"AHHHHH!!"

The screeching of burning spiders managed to drown out the sound of the wave, and even though the central advance was contained, the other sides continued to attack. Severus already knew that now he had to truly start fighting. He readied his sword, pointing his wand at the weapon and moving it slowly. The sword began to glow, enveloped by a layer of lightning to assist with cutting.

As the first spider leaped ahead of the others from the left side, he sliced it in half. However, within milliseconds, he was surrounded by dozens of others advancing toward him. Just as they were about to reach him, he simply disappeared, reappearing above them, seemingly in the middle of a sea of spiders, entangling with each other and even overturning trees due to their numbers.

He launched another fireball, generating a second explosion. The spiders tried to put out the fire, piling on top of one another, attempting to reach Snape as he fell. But before they could touch him, he had already vanished once again, reappearing on the edge of the field, his sword glowing with every movement.

Quickly, the wave of spiders resumed its charge toward him. He was positioned on an edge and was able to eliminate dozens of them within seconds with superhuman movements, disappearing as more spiders came from that side.

Another explosion erupted on the other side as Severus reappeared behind the wave, seemingly toying with it, hitting only the blind spots and weakest points.

The sound of the attacks and explosions soon began to be heard nearby. In a village with large houses made of wood, vines, leaves, and other materials, many centaurs gathered on one side, looking toward the area with a small flame on the horizon, far away. Then, more explosions started to emerge from that side, with the sound echoing throughout the forest.

"What's happening over there?" one centaur murmured.

"We have no idea what's going on... That area belongs to the witch and her Acromantulas... but it doesn't seem like her. Someone must be launching an attack against them," the second centaur said.

"And what should we do?"

"We must inform our leader!" another centaur spoke, and they all nodded as they headed toward the main house, where an enormous centaur was already talking to several others armed with spears and bows. After hearing about the events, the explosions, and the light, now quite obvious on the horizon, the centaur leader spoke:

"We will not get involved. Something is disturbing the forest, but you all know there are over a thousand giant spiders on that side. We have a treaty not to attack one another, and I don't want to get involved in a confrontation between a thousand spiders and whatever is attacking them. I'm not taking you there. This is far beyond what we usually handle," he said with a firm tone.

"So, what will we do?" another asked.

"Just make sure no spiders come into our territory, or whatever is attacking them. Understood?" he said, and they all nodded in agreement, ready to follow his orders.

The leader approached another centaur, "Lhiisy, I need you to report this to Hogwarts immediately," he said, and the young centaur nodded.

"Yes, I will go meet Hagrid," he said in the end.

"Now let's get ready!" he ordered, and hundreds of centaurs from the village began marching to face the disturbance in the forest as soon as they reached it, doing the same as they had done when the Acromantulas acted strange earlier in the year. They prepared a barricade in their territory for protection, while the females and children remained in the village with some warriors.

Elsewhere, an old woman stepped out of her cabin with a bewildered look as flames began to spread through the forest, which until now had been shrouded in darkness where her spiders resided.

Screams and explosions were erupting more than 300 meters from her house. "What is happening here?" she muttered angrily, her voice still quite unpleasant, as she quickly approached the scene, pulling out her wand and using some of her still-familiar spells, Apparition.

She reappeared on a slightly elevated rock, where she could see everything happening 200 meters away. She was surprised to see her giant spiders tangled up with each other, fighting and screaming, while her house continued to burn, with no concern for their nest anymore.

But what surprised her the most—or rather, what filled her with the most rage—was someone moving back and forth among a thousand spiders, as they had all left their nest, filling the entire forest on that side, trying to kill whatever was trying to kill them.

He continued fighting and destroying many of them, the ground filling with spider corpses, and that person kept walking. She couldn't even tell what it was due to its speed, moving around the area using some kind of rapid teleportation, something she had never seen before.

"Who dares to enter my territory and act this way with my spiders?!" she said angrily, gripping her wand and starting to analyze the situation.

As Severus continued moving from one side to the other, she prepared her magic against him. As soon as she saw him appear on one side, she cast an "Avada Kedavra."

Snape was about to fight against 30 Acromantulas and was surprised by a bolt coming toward him from far away, but still too distant. He simply slashed through the first Acromantulas and waited for the bolt to get closer, then disappeared just before it reached him, allowing it to hit one of the spiders trying to kill him.

The witch quickly tried to locate him again, while watching the spiders once more go into a frenzy in search of their attacker.

"So, you are here," a voice suddenly appeared, and the witch was stunned as the voice came from beside her.

Turning her body in shock and looking ahead, she saw a person she thought was dead, as he, along with that mangy beast, had invaded the juggernaut's territory.

She had hated him for several months, with the single thought that they should have met a horrible fate at the hands of that monster. But now, seeing it was him causing this chaos and defeating so many of her spiders, her hatred returned.

"You...!" she couldn't help but exclaim angrily, frustrated at the one who had broken her hand, and she quickly raised her hand in fury toward Snape.

"You may have nearly cornered me last time, but that won't happen here," Severus said.

"Die!!" she tried to cast an attack, but in the next moment, before the killing curse could even leave her wand, a bolt of lightning struck her chest, sending her flying with a scream of agony.

"One less..." Severus said, hoping she was dead before turning his attention back to the spiders, who were now glaring at him after the woman's scream.

He disappeared the next moment, just before the spiders moved toward that side, as this was where Lily was. The next second, he reappeared in the middle of them, preparing to return to the battle. His wand and sword were glowing, and he had only eliminated about 50 spiders so far. He would need to do this more than 20 times in the coming hours to eliminate all 1,000 Acromantulas.
