[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape followed Narcissa into an empty room while she waited for him inside. "Close the door, I wouldn't want anyone to see us here," she said, ensuring no one saw them entering.

She nodded as she saw him close the door and watched him closely while Snape maintained the same gaze, she continued examining all his changes and new features.

"Have you looked enough?" he asked, breaking the silence, waiting for the girl to continue.

"You've become so coarse..." she complained a bit and turned her attention back with a more serious look. "I want to ask you something, but I need you to be honest with my question, Snape," she said, and although he didn't know what it was, Snape nodded.

Seeing this, she continued. "Are you with the death marketers?" she raised the question, even though Lucius had said no. Snape looked darker than before, so she had this doubt at the moment. Since if not one way, surely he could have entered through another family besides the Malfoys.

"No," he answered calmly. And the girl nodded, believing him.

"Tell me one more thing, Snape, what exactly are your plans? You know Lucius and your father want to take you to you-know-who..." she spoke oddly.

"I won't tell my plans to you," he said bluntly, "But I don't intend to join them, if that's what you want to hear. I don't like joining groups, especially this Voldemort fan club and his dogs," Snape remarked dryly.

Narcissa was going to speak, but stopped, shocked by what she heard, never imagining something like that even from this different Snape. "How can you speak so casually, if the great families hear this, nothing good will fall on you Snape. And you can't say the name of You-Know-Who," she said, looking at Snape as if a second head had sprouted on his neck.

"I don't know why you're afraid to say Voldemort, it's just a name of a magical terrorist...," Snape said.

She was even more shocked by that. "Aren't you afraid of him?" she asked, stunned.

"No, it's just a name, just a wizard more powerful than others, while these weaker ones follow him like dogs. You're engaged to Lucius, aren't you? You'll also be part of the little club," Snape almost mocked the girl as she trembled a bit.

"You know," she began, "I don't want to be part of this. In fact, that's why I wanted to talk to you," she admitted. "I wanted to know what you wanted, if you intended to join them, but it seems you're not even afraid to say the name of you-know-who," Snape shrugged hearing this.

"It's just a name, there's no reason to be afraid," he mocked again and looked at the girl hesitating. "You want to tell me one more thing, don't you?" he asked, and she nodded, a bit reluctant.

"I don't want to continue with this novice, Snape. I don't want to join a family tied to war," she admitted.

"Strange, I'm sure the Blacks are all aligned with the dark wizards," Snape spoke while she nodded with that, as it was true, but not everyone wanted to be involved in that kind of war.

"I know that contracted marriages are important in the nobility, but I want to avoid mine," she finally said.

"You know it's not such a simple thing, right?" he said, recognizing that some things were quite difficult to achieve in this world.

"That's true, I know my family won't accept this, but I have a plan. That's why I wanted to know if you were with Lucius or not, but I'm glad you're not," she spoke.

"Do you think I can help her?" he asked, debating whether he should help this woman or not. Because she helped him in the past, or with the other Snape.

"I believe so, but that in time. I hope you will help me when that time comes, but anyway, I won't force you to anything," she concluded.

"Anything else?" he asked.

"Yes, there's one more thing I'd like to tell you. Even though you're not part of You-Know-Who's group, it seems they are planning an attack to kidnap some students this year in Hogsmeade," she confessed. "You might become a target, with your talent for potions, so you'll be one of the targets."

"I see, that won't be a problem," Snape commented and looked at her. "If that's all, then I will take my leave." She sensed.

"You've become a very charming man despite seeming much coarser, it must be why my sister only talks about you lately." She joked at the end before Snape left the room, after all she remembered the old Snape, unconfident and cornered, this change was a sight for any girl's eyes. "Better be careful out there." She joked, but Snape just nodded leaving the room before she left shortly after.

Snape continued through the corridors to the common hall, entering calmly. There was a small flow of students entering and exiting the door. But as soon as he entered, his presence was noted and highlighted among the tables, as always these last few days, while many from Gryffindor looked at him with intense eyes due to the attack that their classmates, the Marauders, had suffered earlier.

Snape didn't care about the hostile looks and walked past. It was just a bunch of kids and they would pay if they tried anything, as he headed for the Slytherin table also under the gaze of the students, especially the older ones who now, for the first time, could see him walking by not just from rumors and gossip.

Many were surprised by Snape and his appearance, something normal since he had joined the school, even Lucius at a spot at the table, looked at him strangely, after all, he had dismissed him and it was the first time they saw him after the change, feeling quite shocked.

The headmaster was already there after talking with Lily, looking at Snape with narrowed eyes, while Minerva had furious eyes almost smoking through her nose.

Lily looked at Snape intensely from the Gryffindor table, remembering the conversation with Dumbledore, wondering who this person was and what he was doing there, if Snape was still alive.

He chose a place as always at the Slytherin table, next to Jerome, the noble he always chose to do simple things for him. The latter shrank when he saw Snape sit and remained silent eating his dinner.

Which could not be said of the rest of the table, while everyone looked at Snape with curiosity, studying the guy, but nobody spoke.

From another side of the table at a distance. "Are you going to talk to him?" said a student.

"Somebody has to do it, right? I don't know why you're scared of a fifth year," he mocked.

"Who's scared of Snape!?" another mocked.

Ignoring that, the student approached where Snape was while everyone had eyes on them, waiting to see what kind of interaction would unfold with Snape and the first to approach him, being a sixth-year student.

As he started his meal, the older student stopped by his side, looking attentively and said, "Snape, I heard about your mess yesterday. You know Adrian Rosier is in the infirmary because of you, and I doubt the Rosier family will let this go without retaliation." He said with a hostile tone under the gaze of the whole table.

Snape was starting to make his plate when he looked up at the student who was staring at him and gave a simple message. "I don't care," he went back to eating something after having not eaten much all day. This left the student a bit disconcerted and the people at the table shocked.

He tried to regain his composure and spoke again. "I think you don't understand, Snape. You injured a student from a powerful family and threw him in the infirmary, what happens in Slytherin, stays in Slytherin... That's our motto, but noble families are another story. The Rosiers won't just stand by, they have strong connections with you-know-who."

"With Voldemort, I know. Now stop bothering me." Snape said fearlessly, shocking everyone once again.

"You can't be serious," the student said wordlessly, as Snape continued to eat while everyone just looked at him.

Seeing that in the end there would be nothing, the student left, clenching his fists and grinding his teeth, viewing it all as a humiliation by a half-blood and swearing that Snape would pay for it.

Watching the student leave, some younger students gathered some courage to ask the reserved and unreachable Snape. "Mr. Snape, is it true that you destroy the entrance to the Slytherin common room every time you enter?" a student asked, gathering a bit of courage.

Snape looked for a while and answered, "Yes, I don't know the password, so I open the door my way," he said, silencing the place once again.

"Wait, are you saying you destroy the door because you don't know the password?" a female student asked, shocked.

"Hey, but isn't that door supposed to be magical, made by Salazar himself, how can you open it?" another younger student asked, frightened.

"Yes, it's magical, that's why I use just my fists and physical strength," he said, as if it were a normal thing, going back to his meal.

'How can he use his fists?' everyone exclaimed internally, after all, that wasn't possible.

"Well, anyway, don't bother me, I want to eat in peace," he said, returning his dangerous gaze, making everyone lower their heads, not wanting to disturb him while the students stared at him, shaking their heads among themselves.

"Lucius, you have to sort this guy out," one of them spoke after hearing Snape's responses from another sixth-year student. "He's going overboard and is all arrogant. How can we let a half-blood act like this?" He complained.

"Ha, but you didn't see what he did to Adrian Rosier. Want to end up like that?" another student said.

"I heard he used just his hands to do that, that position he used... they say he has superhuman strength now. If I could get that... But everyone says he lost the recipe. I'm sure You-Know-Who would really like to get that potion," he said with a diabolical smile.

"I'm sure he'll act against Snape too," another said, knowing about the attack that was to happen this year and Snape would surely be a target if he doesn't join the death marketers voluntarily.

"A half-blood like him won't survive. And the Rosier family must already be aware of what happened and, for sure, they won't just stand by once Snape leaves the castle," others spoke.

"I'll talk to him," Lucius finally said, watching his fiancée entering the common hall. "If he really wants to save his skin, he better know his place," he said, a bit offended after Snape refused him yesterday. Something he had never done before, after all, he always needed his protection.
