Chapter 3 - 001 Return from the Calamity_3

"I... I'm going to see Miaomiao now..." She suddenly smiled, her eyes shimmering, impossibly beautiful.

"Miaomiao is afraid of the cold, afraid of the dark. I'm going to be with him now, so tired..."

Tong Jia could feel the life of this girl swiftly ebbing away. She gripped her hand tightly, encouraging her, "You mustn't die, you have to hold on. The doctor will be here any minute. Little girl, you're still so young, there's so much life ahead of you, you must hold on."

But the moment Miaomiao died, her life had already reached its end.

All of a sudden, it seemed as if a handsome young face appeared before her, with the purest, clearest eyes in the world, warmth and cleanliness radiating when he smiled, a radiance of a thousand li behind him as he reached out to her.

Yaya, I've come to take you with me.

She reached out into the void, her face alight with the happiest and warmest of smiles, her eyes brimming with a dazzling, tender glow. Tong Jia was stunned.

Suddenly, her arm heavily dropped.

Time seemed to freeze. The sun was shining brightly outside the window, birds chirped and flowers bloomed—yet in the season when everything comes back to life, the air in the ward abruptly grew cold, suffocatingly quiet.

Tong Jia suddenly covered her mouth.

Tongtong's crying was hoarse, heart-wrenching.

Doctors and nurses rushed in, pushing Tong Jia aside. "Spontaneous splenic rupture leading to hypovolemic shock, cardiac arrest and blood pressure drop. The patient shows no obvious signs of life; should we proceed with resuscitation?"

"Wasn't she fine during the examination earlier? Why did her spleen suddenly rupture?" Dr. Lin scratched his head in irritation.

The family shouldn't start a fuss, it would be best; however, the hospital certainly wasn't going to take the fall for this. They'd mentioned the significant risks of forced surgery the previous night, yet the family had refused, insisting on the procedure. After all, the pre-surgery consent had been signed by the family.

"Tap, tap, tap..." The clear sound of high heels on the floor tightened everyone's heartstrings as a graceful woman pushed open the door and walked in.

Tong Jia had never seen such an elegant and noble woman before. Clearly not young, yet still reminiscent of a girl in her youth—this person was truly an enchantress.

"What's going on? Such commotion." The woman lowered her sunglasses, frowning in our direction.

Dr. Lin looked nervous. "This young lady suddenly suffered from a splenic rupture leading to hypovolemic shock. We've missed the best time for resuscitation, and she has already..." They couldn't afford to offend the other party; if trouble arose, that would be the end. Although it was a lapse on the hospital's part, the family was also not without fault.

"Oh." Yun Shu raised an eyebrow, glancing with a detached indifference at the girl on the bed, who had already passed away. Her look was so chillingly impassive it seemed as if the girl had no blood relation to her, just an utterly foreign stranger.

"Dead is dead then, what bad luck." With those words, she turned and left.

Midnight.

In a delicately decorated child's room, a little girl lying on a princess bed suddenly opened her eyes and bolted upright, gasping for air.

Another nightmare.

She was a beautifully sculpted young doll, with long, fluffy jet-black hair, pale and delicate features, and eyes as dark as ink. In the darkness, they reflected a cold and merciless sheen. Slowly, the corner of her lips curved upward, filling her eyes with a tenderness as gentle as a spring breeze, perfectly masking the intense indifference at their depths.

Dying and being reborn, returning from demonhood.

She, Ji Yunya, was back!
