Outside the door came a burst of noise, and soon, Ji Die was brought in by a burly man in black, her hands twisted behind her back. Ji Die's eyes blazed with fury as she stared at the person following behind.
"You homewrecker, you seductress who destroys other people's families, you still have the face to come to the Ji Family? If you had any sense, you'd roll out of here quick and stop sullying the Ji Family's ground." As she spoke, she spat contemptuously at the person.
"What a foul mouth, give her a slap," a voice preceded its owner, melodious yet imperious, completely haughty.
Yun Ya's eyes narrowed slightly, a glint of light flashing quietly by.
It was exactly like in her previous life.
"Slap, slap," two hits made Ji Die starry-eyed, but Yun Ya looked on without any sign of being moved.
When one's strength is insufficient, one must learn to endure and bide one's time. Such impulsive actions, other than provoking the opponent and inviting disaster, accomplish nothing.
It was time for Aunt Die to face some harsh realities.
In her past life, such impulsiveness had led to her and Miaomiao being thrown out the door together, left to wander the streets. This was the Ji Family, her surname was Ji, and no one other than her and Miaomiao had the right to stand here and point fingers.
"Revenge is a dish best served cold," they say. But I am no gentleman; I'm the villain.
Yun Ya's lips curled into a slight smile as she looked at Miaomiao, quietly eating; no argument could disturb him.
She gently touched his soft hair. "Sit here and eat your meal like a good boy," she said.
In response, Yun Miao stuffed a meatball into his mouth and chewed vigorously.
Following the "click-clack" of high heels on the floor, a petite figure dressed in fiery red entered the room. The woman wore a tight-fitting red dress that highlighted the curves of her body, stood on twelve-centimeter high heels, and her long, wavy hair casually draped over her shoulders. Her face was pretty as a peach blossom, truly radiant and beyond compare, instantly brightening the entire living room.
Kang Jinse, Yun Shen's rumored girlfriend, a retired second-class gymnast for the national team, never achieved much in terms of sporting results but often made the entertainment news for her pretty face and scandals with several popular stars. After accepting a few third-rate ads and film gigs, she entered the entertainment industry, and consequently, was expelled from the national team. Her latest scandal involved the new wealthy elite of Jiangzhou, Ji Family's son-in-law Yun Shen, and it was because of this woman's interference that Ji Lanyi became extremely jealous and investigated her identity, finding out about Yun Shu, realizing her husband had hidden much from her. Yun Shu was, in fact, Yun Shen's mother and her mother-in-law in name.
And Kang Jinse would often meet with Yun Shu privately, chatting and laughing as if they were mother and daughter, yet she kept being involved in scandals with Yun Shen. What did that signify?
Finally, when Ji Lanyi uncovered Yun Shu's identity, it was like a bolt from the blue. The happiness she believed in was actually a meticulously planned conspiracy borne of revenge. While she was tiresomely worrying over their two children, he was outside, sharing tender moments with his mistress, even...
Yun Ya collected her thoughts and looked up. Kang Jinse also noticed the little girl dressed in a pink and white princess dress. This was her first encounter with Ji Yun Ya, and although the outside world touted the girl as a prodigy, she sneered at the idea, seeing it as nothing more than a false rumor spread by Ji Lanyi to cover up the scandal that her son was mute, merely hyping her daughter. How smart could a five-year-old girl be?
Despite realizing she was indeed quite exceptional, Kang Jinse didn't want to admit that she felt uncomfortable at her very first glance at the girl. Those dark, luminous eyes made her subconsciously uneasy.
It was as if something had set its gaze upon her.
"Are you Ji Yun Ya?" Kang Jinse sauntered over, looking down from her lofty position.
Yun Ya raised her little face with a smile, "Aunt Jiang, hello, I'm Yun Ya. Welcome to our home as a guest."
"A guest? Pfft..." Kang Jinse suddenly laughed, her gaze filled with mockery as she glanced at Yun Ya and sat down on the sofa. "Little girl, you think I'm here as a guest?"
Yun Ya blinked her eyes, very bewildered and adorable, "Then why are you here, Auntie? Oh, I know, you want to be the new mom for Miaomiao and me, right?"
Kang Jinse narrowed her eyes, looking at the pretty little girl who was indeed unusually smart for her age. She shifted her sitting position and raised an eyebrow, "If I say yes, what would you think?"
Yun Ya chuckled, and before Kang Jinse could react, she flung herself into her arms, "Aunt Jiang, you smell so nice, even better than Mom. Mom doesn't want Miaomiao and me anymore. She's a bad mom. I want Aunt Jiang to be the new mom for Miaomiao and me."
Kang Jinse initially wanted to push Yun Ya away instinctively, but the body in her arms was so soft and cute, and the voice so tender and needy that, somehow, her hand just froze in place, "Does Yun Ya really want Auntie to be your new mom?"
Yun Ya looked up from her embrace, her eyes clear and bright, she could even see her own reflection in them. "Don't you want to, Auntie?" She frowned slightly, looking pitiful, making one want to hold her tight and cherish her, "Miaomiao and I will be very, very good. Please don't leave us, okay?"
Yun Ya disgusted herself with her act, but seeing a hint of being moved in Kang Jinse's expression, a sneer of mockery quietly passed through her dark eyes.
Although Kang Jinse was disgusted that these were Ji Lanyi's children, Ji Lanyi was no longer around. Even though Yun Shen didn't care much for these kids, they were still his biological children, after all. If she was going to marry into the Yun Family, gaining the children's endorsement would be killing two birds with one stone. No matter how much Yun Shen disliked children, he would ultimately consider his children's opinions.
Besides, Ji Lanyi wasn't a qualified mother. These children were only five years old, exactly the age when they craved motherly love. Making them utterly devoted to herself and hate the mother who abandoned them would be the perfect revenge against Ji Lanyi, wouldn't it?
She had thought these children would be a handful, and she had already prepared her strategies. But since the girl was so sensible, why not just play the stepmother?
She didn't realize that there's a saying, "Nurture a tiger and court calamity!"
Her mind whirred, and as Kang Jinse stroked Yun Ya's hair, she put on what she thought was her kindest, most approachable smile, "Alright, Auntie won't leave you. From now on, Auntie will be your new mom and will love you and Miaomiao very much."
"Young miss... young miss, how can you recognize a thief as your mother? It was she who meddled in the marriage between the lady and the young master, that angered the old master to death and drove the lady away, how can you recognize this woman as your mother?" Ji Die said indignantly, she truly hadn't expected the young miss to get so attached to Kang Jinse.
Kang Jinse looked over coldly, about to signal her black-clad men to slap the wretched woman. Ji Die, if you don't speak, no one will think you're mute. But Yun Ya suddenly wriggled out of Kang Jinse's embrace, running over to Ji Die, and Kang Jinse briefly stunned, her gaze then turning icy.
The tiny figure spoke earnestly, albeit in a baby voice, "Aunt Die, it's Mom who doesn't want Miaomiao and me. Why must we insist on her being our mom? Don't bring her up anymore. As long as Dad likes someone and they treat Miaomiao and me well, then she is our mother."
Ji Die was taken aback, unable to believe that a child of five could say such things. Yun Miao was still not mature in her concepts of right and wrong. Although she was clever, she really hadn't seen much of the world. Without correcting these ideas, she might end up on the wrong path...
Ji Die opened her mouth, "Young miss... you...".
Ji Yunya's expression suddenly turned cold, those dark eyes of hers made Ji Die's words stick in her throat, "Aunt Die, I've said before, I no longer have a mother, and I don't want to hear about her from you again."
Kang Jinse's lips curved up in satisfaction. This Ji Yunya really suited her taste. As long as she obeyed her in the future, she would certainly "cherish" her well.
