Chapter 2 - Training the limits and pushing beyond

Fire and explosions occur everywhere in the city an echo of what had happened on the guardian home realm Etheria and the 9 planets.

Glacier gasps and wakes up from the nightmare of living through the attack again.

"I must get strong so I can defend without fear of loosing people again... Never again will I allow that to happen." Glacier gets up and looks in a fully body mirror.

"But what can I do with this small body it won't be easy right house ai?" Glacier asks.

"Answer workout routine suggested to build up muscle endurance speed power along with practicing magic and martial arts. With a well balanced diet one can become stronger through rigorous training." The ai responds as a door to a gym opens up.

"I'm definitely different than a normal newborn guardian I imagine they would not have speech or a fast grasp at situations like me could it be I'm a prodigy?"

"Answer based on collected guardian data you master are the strongest guardian ever born and likely will surpass the former head of the guardian race your grandfather the knowledgeable Luke." The ai responds.

"Alright how should I begin then." Glacier asks walking into the large gym.

"Calculating master's current capabilities. Calculations complete routine suggested of 100 reps of 500 thousand pounds followed by a 5 hour treadmill run set to 500x the speed of sound."

"There's no way I can do that right?" Glacier asks almost fainting at the numbers.

"This is your current limit training will adjust accordingly rest assured it isn't too much."

Glacier with a defeated sigh goes to a barbel already set to that weight.

Glacier grabs the bar and manages to lift it. "Not bad but I definitely feel it and I have to do a 100 are you trying to kill me?" Glacier asks already working on the 100 repetitions.

After 3 hours Glacier manages to finish the 100 reps and is gasping for air and water as it grew progressively harder.

After an hour of rest Glacier hops onto the treadmill and starts the run.

"I get it now its not hard in the beginning but eventually it drains stamina and endurance from me to the brink of dying isn't that right." Glacier asks and the ai remains quiet.

Glacier feeling like he's right keeps running at a steady pace and once the 5 hour mark passed he hops off not the least bit tired.

"Congratulations you've improved more than I had thought commencing magic learning and practice." The ai warps Glacier into a open arena with a small bookstand.

"In reality I just wanted to prove to the house I can do it but that was harder then the lifting." Glacier runs and grabs one of the books and with his thumb flips through the pages and reading everything on the pages before they flip.

"So its about visualizing what you intend to do with your inner energy and manifesting it in the exterior world. Alright lets try this. Icicle spear." Glacier raises his arm as 5 thin icicles form and he throws them at the targets in the arena.

"Naturally master would have an strong connection with ice water and wind based magic."

One day admist the training with magic Glacier notices something.

"Wait a second did that just feel the same?" Glacier looks at his paws before at the targets before trying his theory.

"Come forth ice and shoot down those in my way. Flying frozen shards." Glacier creates a volley of ice shards about the size of a baseball and fires them at the target and its destroyed.

"And now this." Glacier uses the same spell again but this time it took less to destroy the target.

"So chanting the spells name weakens the spell a little or it doesn't convert the magic as fast if I were to cast the spell without the chant or the name."

"I guess its time for some experiments."

Glacier creates the same volley of ice shards again but doesn't fire." Flying frozen shards." As Glacier launches the spell again its power increases again.

"If I cast the spell then call out the name the power is increased so what about if I added the full chant." Glacier again creates the same volley of ice.

"Come forth ice and shoot down those in my way. Flying frozen shards." Again the spells power is stronger than the last.

"Okay if I cast the spell and recite the incantation or name the power is increased but it seems that the power isn't that much different only about 1% probably useless for combat magic but support magic definitely benefits. I wonder if I could train my magic to the point I can just discard the incantation and name recital and have similar levels of power. Well only one way to find out devote myself to work."

This process repeats for thousands of years and one day in the midst of training outside in Frost's harsh winter climate Glacier gets approached.

"Who are you two." Glacier says drawing his sword now around 100 thousand years old and 4'5.

"You've grown well for this rather basic training." One wearing a white cloak says.

"But even so your power is nothing more than a rain drop compared to the ocean of power we have." The one in a black cloak snickers out.

Glacier lunges at the black figure with his sword ready to slash at them when it collides with a fan.

"What?" Glacier leaps back and sees a scaled arm holding a metal black fan.

"Huh guess I underestimated you not bad I must say but still nothing more than an insect." They say putting their fan away and arm.

"You asked us who we were earlier well we aren't your enemy but we aren't your allies either well not yet at least. What you should know is that you're not reaching your true potential like this because there's only so much you will grow through this method eventually you will stagnate." The white figure says as the storm suddenly stops.

"Impossible the storm of frost stopped. Did you do that?" Glacier asks still keeping his guard up.

"Indeed you have much to learn. Allow us to demonstrate what we mean." The white figure leaps at Glacier with a white fan and Glacier narrowly dodges still getting cut on his cheek.

"I've grown to the point of moving in the light speed realm yet I still only barely dodged?" Glacier thinks as he wipes the blue blood away and leaps back.

"Not bad for 5% power wouldn't you say?" The white figure says and Glacier gets surprised by that statement however in that moment the white figure closes the distance and delivers a punch to Glacier knocking him several feet into the ground coughing up blood.

"Learn what you can from this battle and we will meet again soon where you shall learn the truth of us and your power." The white one says as the black one creates a portal and the two leave through it.

"Absurd going from 5% to 100% what impressive energy control." Glacier thinks as he chuckles and gets up limping his way back inside.

"I guess there's always someone stronger yet their words what could they be up to?" Glacier wonders as the two figures are watching from space.

"Alright then brother he took the bait where can we send him to for his trial?" The white cloak asks.

"Lets see the imperial galaxy nearby around a week away is in the midst of an intergalactic war where the empire seeks more space and conquest yet remains unaware of the vast amount of galaxies away from their galactic sector." The black one says making a map showing the universe.

"Lets send him there then and see if he truly can live up to the title as Guardian of Creation as well as becoming friends with us when he learns the truth." The white one adds before the two leave the space entirely.
