In the classroom, everyone panicked after seeing someone die, thinking they would be next.
[Hah, I'm not done explaining. Anyway, I'll continue. That doll will turn itself every so often when it's not looking, it's your cue to move closer, but if it turns back and sees you move by one inch, you'd be dead, got it? ]
The voice explained the rules in one breath.
Mark nodded in understanding when he heard the rules.
Everyone listened, but under the trauma they saw, the only thing they heard was, "You'd be dead."
Which further made them panic. They never would've thought that death was right at their door.
[There's a 10-minute timer, if the time ran out before you got inside the red line, you'd still die.]
The voice continued, not caring for everyone's emotions.
[Tip: 2 clicks is life, 3 clicks is your death.]
Before the voice was gone, it gave one last tip that caught Mark's attention.
Mark's eyes narrowed. There must be a hidden trick in the tips. The tip that the voice said isn't just a random nonsense, it must have a meaning.
Right after the voice left, a giant red timer appeared on the air. It's a 10 minute timer.
[10:00]
[9:58]
[9:57]
[9:56]...
Each passing second, death is like knocking on their door.
The first to move was Mark, he took a step forward when the doll's head was not facing.
Fearlessly, Mark's fear of death has long been disappeared. Only him is walking at steady pace, other people isn't moving at all.
Some people isn't even leaving the starting line, maybe traumatized from what just happened.
*Clicks*
After 3 steps, he heard a click coming from the doll's neck. The noise is very noticeable, Mark heard it.
*Clicks*
Mark continued walking, after eight steps, five meters is crossed.
When Mark heard another click, he stopped walking, he's feeling that something was wrong.
Due to his insane luck, he always believe to his intuition, it's an instinct engraved to his brain.
After Mark stopped, some people got their courage back and started walking slowly.
*Clicks*
After that click, the doll absurdly turned back, it was so fast that some people didn't have time to react and was caught walking.
Seven people was caught moving.
The doll looked at those who moved and smiled from ear to ear, showing its teeth like it had found prey it wanted to eat.
In the next few seconds, its eyes glowed blue, this time, it shot at everyone that had moved previously.
*Boom*
*Splatters*
One by one, everyone's head exploded.
Seven were eliminated, and eight survived.
Including Mark, two people who luckily avoided death, and five people cowering in the starting line and not moving at all.
*Clicks*
The doll's head clicked again, but it's still looking at three people who are standing still. five seconds passed, it's like an eternity.
Soon, a click sounded.
*Clicks*
The doll's expression turned normal and slowly turned away.
Mark looked at the doll and calmly walked again, he instantly understood the rules.
'After 3 clicks, the doll will turn its head, after 2 clicks, it'll turn back. Such rules were boring.'
The tip that the voice gave before leaving made Mark think this way.
Mark yawn unconsciously and starts walking.
However, the two people who followed Mark didn't follow yet, they got stuck in fear, feeling that in the next second, the doll would turn to them and kill them.
They didn't dare to walk like Mark, their hearts were so tense.
This is like holding a bomb, and you don't know when it's going to explode.
Nico, who was behind Mark, gritted his teeth and followed Mark closely.
Even though it's much slower than Mark's, it's safer. He didn't dare to go faster.
Nico was pulled into the death game while checking his email. He thought it was a new game, so he wanted to try it out.
But instead, he got here, facing the danger, and he had no choice but to move on.

Outside the classroom, on the monitor, a woman watched all of this.
"This week's newcomer is so weak."
She said this while drinking coffee, but she noticed one man who was walking calmly.
Her eyebrows raised, and she grinned a little.
"At least there was an interesting guy here."
***
*[8:34]*
A minute has passed; it felt like eternity for Nico, who was slowly following Mark.
As for the other guy, he didn't dare to move again, he was heavily traumatized.
*Clicks*
*Clicks*
Two clicks sounded in a row. Nico, who's head was slightly clear now, heard this.
Nico instantly stopped and remembered the tip that the voice provided.
'2 clicks is life, 3 clicks is your death.'
Nico realized that every 3 clicks, the doll's head would turn. This realization lit his eyes.
His survival rate will greatly increase after knowing this. But the man in front of him didn't stop walking.
He kept walking despite the two previous clicks. Nico instantly felt pity for Mark, thinking that he didn't get the rules.
'Any seconds now, the doll's head will turn...'
[8:23]
[8:12]
...
[7:41]
Nico, second by second, became more shocked. He remembered how seven people died instantly upon the third click.
But how come this time, the third click won't come?
Soon, Mark reached the finish line, half-a-step away from the red line, 1 meter away from the doll.
But he didn't continued walking but instead he stared at the doll.
"Hey."
Mark said this while looking at the doll. If you're not observant, you wouldn't notice that the doll actually flinched.
Upon closer inspection, you would also see it trembling and sweating.
"I'm talking to you."
Mark continued. Five seconds passed, and the doll didn't respond.
Mark raised his eyebrows. Why won't the doll look at him.
"Turn around."
The doll still didn't respond. But its body was visibly trembling.
*** (Doll POV)
[8:29]
I'm doll No. 44, and I was tasked with guiding this tutorial game by the Lord.
*Clicks*
*Clicks*
Honestly, I wanted to eliminate all these players, after all, they interrupted my free time.
Just when I wanted to turn my head, my neck got stuck.
This should be impossible. I'm a sentient doll, I heal broken parts, so any malfunction shouldn't be possible.
I tried again, but it's still stuck.
Then I added some of my energy to fix the broken neck, and I felt that I could turn my head now.
However...
All my instincts were screaming at me not to turn around. If I turn around, I'll die without a scum left!
*** (General POV)
Meanwhile, Mark slowly approached the doll. However, he didn't know that a dark aura that's leaking on his body also approached the doll.
The aura of death swallowed the poor doll, a thick black aura with sickening feeling wrapped the doll.
To normal people, they can't see this, it's a kind of energy that normal people can't see.
Mark, who tried countless ways to die have been in close to close contact with death multiple times.
Because of this, he developed a dark, death and black energy or aura, surrounding him.
Spirits, devine beings and undeads will be sensitive to this, and therefore will be affected by it.
This dark energy swallowed the doll and ate its soul.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
The doll fought with all of its life, intense pain covered all of his body, and his soul is being ripped apart.
*Clicks*
The doll lost all of its soul, and it became a normal doll now. After a click, its head fell off.
Mark got surprised, he almost stepped back. To his perspective, he went close but the doll fell suddenly.
Mark didn't know what happened.
