Chereads / Death Game: Endless Luck / Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Tutorial is over.

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Tutorial is over.

In the classroom, Nico watched Mark with strange expression.

Before Nico could react, he saw Mark got closer to the doll and sees the doll breaks apart and fall down.

Nico: "???"

Nico's mouth couldn't help but open, dumbfounded to what happened.

The doll that recently traumatized him is now on the floor, and not moving.

"Did we win?"

"What happened?

"Is the doll dead?"

People in the starting line mutter under their breath, they also saw the doll fell down, they're still unsure to what happened.

Fortunately, the game is really over.

With no way to continue, the timer on the air stopped at [7:28].

No longer ticking.

***

Meanwhile, the woman in the monitor stared at the screen in daze.

A few seconds of silence passed before she regained her senses.

The doll died from unknown reason.

This truly shocked her, she knows that the doll isn't just a normal evil spirit, but a very powerful one.

But for some unknown reason, the doll died? If someone told her this, she wouldn't believe it unless she sees it herself.

Which she does.

She stands up and slammed her hands on the table while staring at the screen.

The coffee on the table shook and almost spills.

"This is absurd! How did that useless doll died!?"

She knot her eyebrows, thinking what to do before sighing.

"I need to tell the Lord about this. This situation is special."

She sat back and stares at the man who is the suspect for the doll's death.

She couldn't confirm it yet but it's pretty obvious that it has something to do with that man.

[DG: The tutorial is over, announce it.]

A bloody text appeared on her vision, she reads it before taking the microphone.

***

In the classroom, people noticed the clock had stopped.

Thinking that they escaped death, they cheered happily.

Nico also looked at the clock on the air before glancing at Mark.

Nico couldn't help but remember the Novel he read before.

A regressor, going back in time to save the world.

Nico liked the Novel so much that he had some fantasy and almost everyday, praying to be a regressor.

"Could it be?!"

Nico stared at Mark and the figure of regressor and Mark's overlapped in his eyes.

"A regressor..."

Nico eyes lit up, it all make sense now.

Why he has indescribable temperature and why he's so calm despite all of this.

No normal human can be like that unless they experience it in advance!

He must be the reason why the doll breaks apart, he must have been using his abilities as a regressor!

I'm sure he's ultra duper powerful! I need to get close to him!

Nico's mind is full of fantasy meanwhile, Mark's mind is full of confusion.

He grabbed the doll on the floor, the sensation of plastic is felt.

Other than the bloody outfit, it's just a normal doll.

But why did it die? I wasn't done having fun yet.

Mark's nonchalant eyes glanced at the camera on the corner.

"That's it?"

In the classroom, while people is cheering, the voice appeared again.

[Congratulations for surviving the tutorial, people who's alive here is now officially a player. I'll explain a few things about Death Game.]

Everyone froze after hearing the voice. A gloomy atmosphere quickly appeared, removing all happy atmosphere before.

[First, as a player, you'll receive your assistance, the DG(Death Game) system. Keep in mind, it's not a system like in the novel, it won't help you get stronger, you'll need to get stronger yourself.]

[Your DG system will help you, ask it for other knowledge of the Death Game, I won't explain anymore.]

After the voice sounded, everyone received their DG system, a red panel, visible only to their eyes.

[DG system is here at your service.]

Mark's eyebrows knot, everyone exclaimed in shock after seeing the system but Mark didn't.

"What is your use."

The red panel infront of him flickered before replying, [My purpose is to help you in Death Game.]

Mark touched his chin, seemingly interested to this unscientific thing.

"Is there any other function you have that I'm missing here."

The red panel flickers before loading a bunch of text, lined up as a list.

Hundreds of them. But what caught Mark's eyes is the [View Status] on the list.

"Hmm, View Status."

Mark mutters, the red panel flickers. It's loading, like a website. After a few seconds, it loaded a word.

[Can't view full status, view the status anyway? There might be some unloaded information.]

Mark's eyes narrowed and asked,

"How come?"

[Because of overload.]

Mark reads the text. His eyes lost focus. Overload? Why did the system overload. Is it related to my luck?

Mark no longer asked and finally tries to view his status.

[DG system:

Status:

Name: Mark Brynn (--)

Age: 20 (--)

Strength: 1.7 (1 is average)

Stamina: 1.7 (1 is average)

Spirit: --

Charm: 3.7 (1 is average)

Luck: ??3???1??4??1??5??9?? (Abnormal Data)

Skills: (???), Cold Heart Lv10, Calming Lv10, Boxing Lv. 3

Title: --]

"Why is there a blank space and questions mark in my status."

[The user's status have abnormal data that far surpassed any human and the system can't detect it, the system apologize for inconvenience.]

"Hmm."

Mark got interested, his luck is definitely supernatural, maybe more powerful than the Death game that brought him here.

After that, another timer appeared on the air, showing 10 seconds.

Everyone panicked except Mark.

"What is that."

Mark asked his System while looking at the clock.

[It's a timer, when it ends, you'll get teleported back to the lobby.]

Mark's eyebrows raised

"Lobby?"

The red panel flickers

[Yes, a lobby where players rest before playing another round of death game.]

"Interesting."

Mark's eyes shines, for the first time in many years, he finally felt some excitement.

Nico on the other side, rushed toward Mark, he's hoping to atleast know his name or acquaintance him but the clock on the air quickly ends and everyone disappear.

***

In the death town, Mark and other people reappeared.

Some are bewildered to what just happened but Mark kept calm.

[User, you can choose a house, once you've chosen a house, you cannot change it.]

A red panel reminded Mark, which he responded by looking around.

He appeared in the town, or rather, a town with a bunch of house lined up, separated by just one long road.

Each house have different design and feeling.

Mark glances at the road but can't see the end of it.

"Just how long is this road."

[It's approximately 15km long, with 1 house every 25 meters. There are approximately 600 houses.]

The red panel replied. Mark nodded in response, still curious about something.

"I assume that there are many town out there too?"

The red panel flickers for a bit before replying,

[Information is restricted.]

Mark's eyebrows knot with dissatisfaction. You must know, ever since his childhood, he rarely felt dissatisfaction.

Last time he felt dissatisfaction was because of the food, he was 13 years old when he didn't like the food he ate in the restaurant.

Because of that, by some coincidence, the maker of the food got in a car accident and was permanently paralyzed in the hospital.

Mark blamed himself because of that, so he started keeping his emotion hidden after that day.

His Luck will endanger people if necessary, Mark knows this.

In that moment, the space around Mark seems to ripple, like a lake after a stone fell into it.

The air get colds, and the atmosphere quickly gets strange.

Mark himself didn't know that something is happening around him.

After that, the red panel breaks like a glass and heals rapidly before breaking again.

It repeats the process before flickering.

[ERROR, Code 244032, giving access to information.]

Mark calmed down after reading the red panel.

His dissatisfaction disappeared, the same with strange atmosphere.

[Answer: Yes, there are many towns out there, and there's also a city for advanced player.]

(N/A: World building is slowly and badly explained but deal with it.)

[End of the chapter.]
