The room was incredibly large, around the size of a football field. The walls and flooring all had the same texture, as well as designed in the same way, all white while being a little rough.
Enji watched the match through a protective glass window as she spoke over the microphone echoing her voice across the battle room,
"This is just so I can see your abilities, so Arashi go easy on him."
Arashi then pointed his finger at Shiro as he said confidently, "I won't even need my psychic trait to beat you!"
Shiro simply took a fighting stance as he thought, "This guy is overconfident, I'll restrain him, and then take him out in one blow."
Suddenly four shurikens spawned in Arashis' hand, which he immediately threw at Shiro taking him by surprise. The shuriken deflected off Shiro's skin as if it was hitting against hard iron.
Arashi quickly dashed towards Shiro and threw a left jab infused with Psychic power. Shiro easily caught it and then aimed his strongest punch at Arashis' face.
In response, he twisted his body in a strange manner, dislocating his wrist while avoiding Shiros' punch. He quickly kicked the hand that was restraining him and broke free, as he backed away.
He then said, "So Weatherman-Sensei wasn't lying, you can freely use inner enhancement. I guess you weren't all talk."
As Shiro wiped the sweat off his face he thought, "He's too fast. Once he gets close, I'll stop him with that move."
Arashi made the rat hand symbol while shouting, "Ninpo: After Image Clones!"
He began to visibly vibrate until his body split apart into 2 more afterimages of himself creating the illusion of there being 3 Arashis'. Shiro tried to sense which one was real, but they all had psychic power making it impossible.
All of Arashis' clones started to dart around the room, even going as far as to jump on the walls and do flips over Shiro, trapping him in a cage. Shiro tried to track their movements, but it was impossible. He pointed his finger at one while preparing to fire however it had quickly disappeared to another position.
One of the clones, then threw a kunai knife at him, which Shiro blocked with his right arm, and in that moment, Arashi ran up to him from his back while holding another.
Shiro pointed his left arm at him while shouting, "DEAD BULLET."
His finger then fired off while being propelled by trailing blood, instantly going through Arashis' head. His body then suddenly vanished, surprising Shiro as he had shot one of the clones instead.
From up above Arashi could be seen spiraling downwards to Shiro while shouting,
"WINDBLADE AXE KICK."
Shiro quickly changed his aim and fired once again at Arashi, piercing him through the head. His body added away revealing that he was the last clone.
A powerful kick then slammed into the side of Shiros' head, cracking his skull while knocking him out.
This brought the match to an end with Arashis' victory.
5 minutes later, Shiro finally woke up while still lying down on the floor as Enji crouched next to him. She was busy poking the hilt of her sword into his face while saying, "Wake up, I don't have all day to lecture you."
Shiro got up as he yawened and scratched the back of his head. "So what do you think?"
Enji then said with a blunt look, "As you are now, you're probably the weakest in this team."
Shiro could feel the harshness of that statement as he felt a sudden sharp pain in his back. He asked, "How strong am I then?"
"Our team captain, Aiko is the strongest, then next it's Weatherman who is equal to me. After that, it's Arashi then Obi and finally you."
Shiro sighed disappointingly as he said, "I see... Im going to have to train extra hard then. I won't settle for being last place."
Suddenly Enji got close to Shiros' face and stared deep into his eyes, which made him slightly uncomfortable. She backed away as she said disappointingly, "You have those eyes—the same as the captains. Im not an Enhancer so I can't help you train, and our abilities are completely different so I'm useless to you. You'll have to figure out how to get stronger yourself."
She quickly walked out of the room, leaving Shiro alone by himself. He then laid back on the ground in exhaustion, thinking, "That Arashi guy made all those clones without even using his trait. Was it some kind of footwork? He is an enhancer, so maybe it was a manipulation art? I need to figure out how to keep up with them. Should I fire multiple bullets at once? But then he'll just dodge them... He's way faster than me so training won't be enough. I need a new move that can keep up with his speed."
Eventually feeling exhausted Shiro decided to go to sleep for the day. As he exited the room though, he wasn't greeted with the usual corridor filled with doors but instead, a luxury room made from pure white marble surrounded by windows.
In front of him was a laid-out red carpet that reached up to a jet-black desk. Sitting behind it was a woman with long black hair, with streaks of gold. She wore an outfit reminiscent of a prince.
She wagged her finger at Shiro as she said, "Don't be afraid, I just wanted to talk with you for a bit."
She then waved her hand over the table, and suddenly a teapot and two tea cups appeared. As Shiro sat down in front of her, she carefully poured tea into both cups, before handing one to Shiro.
As they both sipped on it Shiro then asked, "So who are you?"
The mystery woman kept drinking and then she summoned, a strawberry cake and knife. She quickly cut two slices before asking, "Do you want one?"
Even without giving an answer, the woman handed him a slice on a small ceramic plate.
She then said, "Im sorry, I had a bit of a sweet tooth. I can't really help myself."
This woman looked to be around her late 20's yet she did not act that age.
"I am the director of S.N.A.D, but you can just call me the overseer. Normally you wouldn't be able to come to this place, but I invited you here to talk. I've made it a sort of an obligation to talk to everyone in our psychic teams at least once, so I needed to bring you here. If you have any questions feel free to ask me now. I'll likely know the answer."
Hearing that Shiro got up out of his chair while saying, "Thanks for the food, but if that's all then im outta here."
"I might even be able to recall something about your lost memories if you ask."
Shiro then quickly rushed back to the table and slammed both of his hands onto it. Then he smashed his head onto the table and shouted at the top of his voice,
"PLEASE TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW!"
The Overseer then bit her thumb seductively as she said, "Anything for Shiro-kun."
This creeped out Shiro a little as he thought, "She's scarier than Enji."
The Overseer manifested a torn P.E.S armband that was coloured white. She handed it over to Shiro as she said, "We found that on the artificial psychic, Kyobi. I don't know how he got his hands on it, but it was made over 70 years ago during World War Two. The P.E.S squad was originally made to counter the US and UK's psychics in the war, however, the team was disbanded as it was considered a failure. The reason why was expunged from S.N.A.Ds' history, however I recognise that armband as its old design. It's actually pretty famous around the facility but not many people will recognise it."
Shiro gripped onto the armband tightly. "70 years ago huh? This is going to take some time."
Before he left the room, he thanked the Overseer for her time. He finally had a clue, that drew him closer to his lost memories.
"Maybe I should go get something to eat again?"

Arashi woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. He wasn't wearing a shirt, yet he still wore that long blue scarf anyway. He quickly ran to the sink that was in his room and began to wash his hands intensely with soap.
He kept muttering under his breath, "It won't come off, It won't come off."
Even when frostbite began to take over him, he still kept scrubbing. Eventually, tears started to flood down his face.
"It won't come off, It won't come off."
Exhaustion soon took over his body until he passed out on the bedroom floor.
