Chereads / Conan: I'm Really a Good Person / Chapter 38 - You Are Awesome

Chapter 38 - You Are Awesome

Ichijō Mirai didn't go straight into the kitchen.

He stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked around the dessert shop inconspicuously, his eyes passing over the scattered zero star customers, but he didn't find anything strange for the time being.

The biggest surprise of all was that there was nothing strange.

The two Ishida's said that the blackmailers were 'unlucky' enough to get into a car accident and died together on the road.

There were two car accidents, and both the doorstoppers and their accomplices died.

A car accident in which many people died is considered a major car accident, and it happened twice in a row. No matter what, when the car accident happened only a few days ago, there should be police nearby to investigate, right?

But no.

Ichijō Mirai hadn't seen any police in the neighborhood, no police uniforms, no plainclothes police, and the customers at the dessert store were just ordinary people.

As for the reason why they were ordinary people...

Ichijō Mirai scanned the guests again: the scattered guests all noticed him, and some greeted him with smiling eyes, or looked away in embarrassment, some lowered their heads to eat dessert to cover up, and some nibbled on their spoons and made a mess with their companions.

Without exception, they are all very energetic, full of innocence and youthfulness.

None of the guests had the basic willpower of a policeman.

This is very strange, so strange that it seems that the police did not notice anything unusual about the two major car accidents, and did not even care about it. They just took the bodies away and notified the family members, and then did not pay any more attention to it or send anyone to investigate.

Hearing the sound of greeting, Ichijō Mirai withdrew his eyes and looked over.

Ishida Eiko waved her hand from afar and said hello again, with a strange expression on her face.

The young customer wearing a headband standing next to Ishida Eiko also waved and greeted happily. She held the tray in one hand and waved happily with the other hand. She stood on tiptoe unconsciously. She was as innocent as the customers in the store, but more cheerful and lovely. Her tail was wagging wildly behind her, almost condensing into a solid body.

Ichijō Mirai remembered the hairband customer: the blushing customer who had been teasing her companion about her sweet date on the first day.

He nodded from afar, responded with the same polite greeting, and scanned the dessert store before walking into the kitchen.

Since Ishida Eiko's expression was different, and Ichijō Mirai wasn't in a hurry, he slowed down and waited a little longer.

A few moments later, Ishida Eiko came back from the front room and said, somewhat hesitantly, "Mirai."

"What is it?" Ichijō Mirai was calm, "Did you hear the news that 'a police officer is secretly asking about the accident'?"

He reassured, "Don't panic."

Ishida Eiko shakes her head, "No."

She looked at Ichijō Mirai seriously: because he wanted to comfort her, Ichijō Mirai smiled deliberately, looking relaxed, like a reserved gentleman listening to a light and harmless anecdote. His eyebrows and eyes were slightly deeper than those of ordinary Japanese people, and they were more obvious when he smiled.

He spoke Japanes without having the accent of a local, which gave a sense of unfamiliarity, a sense of 'being able to speak, but not being 100% proficient', which emphasized the distance of a non-native speaker.

If Ishida Eiko was an unsuspecting customer of the dessert shop, she would have hesitated to recognize that this young man did not seem to be a Tokyo native at the first meeting, and would have looked at him again, again, and again.

Ishida Eiko looked at him several times, a little worried, "I heard that many people in the neighborhood have noticed you recently, even the waiters in ramen restaurants know you."

"And schools and such have heard of you."

"Will this get in your way?"

Being remembered is a problem for criminals, isn't it?

Ishida Eiko was a little uncertain and even more worried: Although there were two car accidents when Ichijō Mirai came, he was generous and gave 100,000 US dollars in the first communication.

Although Ichijō Mirai was obviously a criminal who was not easy to mess with and was in debt, he was generous and gave 100,000 US dollars.

Although Ichijō Mirai had a lot of rules and required everyone to be a family, but 100,000 US dollars.

They're scared to be together, but 100,000 US dollars.

This is a shining philanthropist.

And having worked for a big American company is something that brightens the eyes of all young Japanese, and is admired even more by all the old Japanesewho are too damned old to die as soon as possible.

Ishida Eiko's attitude was one of respect and love.

"A waitress at a ramen shop?" Ichijō Mirai frowns in confusion, "School?"

"Why... oh, I see."

He responded with a brief two-second silence before speaking in his usual tone, "It's okay."

"Other than that, is there anything else out of the ordinary?"

Did the police still not show up today?

Ishida Eiko shook her head, "No."

...OK.

Ichijō Mirai nodded his head deeply, once again putting a stamp of approval on the assumption that the original owner had prepared in advance.

He cleared the table and politely said, "Then I'll go up first, if there's anything out of the ordinary you can call me directly."

He is so polite that you can't tell at all that he is a somewhat unethical player.

Ishida Eiko nodded her head, "Okay, okay."

On his way up the stairs, Ichijō Mirai scanned the dessert store again, noticing that there were a lot more customers, and that the customer with the hair band was sitting by the window, eating in the sunlight and pressing her cell phone, as if she was texting furiously.

He withdrew his eyes, went upstairs to his bedroom, and opened the game pod again.

The wound on the back of his neck warmed up as it always did, and the scene of three floating rectangles unfolded before Ichijō Mirai's eyes again.

Within a few moments, the second rectangle took on a new form: flickering.

The fluorescent-white edge of the light was flickering as if it was fully charged, and the flickering light even shone into the third rectangle, illuminating the document-like design on it.

Ichijō Mirai moved his eyes and rested on the flickering rectangle.

The flickering light froze, remained fixed for two seconds, and then shattered as if unlocked, and a line with the same handwriting as [Organization Newcomer] unfolded underneath the rectangle: [Police Academy Newcomer].

A system alert popped up.

[You have unlocked the second camp, [Police].]

And the requirements for unlocking the second camp are enthusiastically expanded upon.

[Requirements for unlocking are as follows.

The fifth unlock condition that popped up with enthusiasm suddenly stuck.

It's stuck again.

The dots with the apostrophes at the end appeared one by one, disappeared when six of them appeared, and appeared again from the first dot, as if they were loading with difficulty.

After a few moments of loading, the system is smooth, and one word after another appears: [(N/1)].

With a warm reminder: [*When the number of completions exceeds a single digit, it will be automatically summarized as 'N'.]
