Love from a distance:A tale of unexpected connection
Chapter 22
Ryan's POV
"Give me a hug said Grandpa and I hugged him.
"You're all over the internet, cold lord, how come? I thought you were a low-key person," Dickson, my stubborn cousin, said and I scoffed.
"Pa, Ma," I said as I saw my parents.
"Welcome home, dear," Mom said with a beautiful smile across her lips.
"Finally, you're using your mouth," Dickson said.
Three female triplets of about four years came running to me, and as I saw them, my face changed from the cold lord to a soft guy, and I scooped them into my hands and tickled them.
"My cute cousins, how are you?" I said.
"I'm fine," the three girls said in their baby tone.
"I bought something for you," I said, and the bodyguard came with chocolates and gave me three, which I gave to the girls, and they hugged me.
"What about me, Ryan?" Dickson questioned.
"Come get it," I said as I looked at him and he came. I put my hand around his neck as I scattered his hair, and we both laughed.
"Now my big cousin is the real him," he said still laughing.
"You punk, let's go eat," I said as I left him.
Everyone settled in the dining, and a lot of varieties were already placed. From the likes of Oysters, Saffron, Lobster, Wagyu Beef, Kobe Beef, Foie Gras, Matsutake Mushrooms, Alba White Truffles, and lots more. I was literally hungry, so I started digging in.
"How was school, son? Any crush?" Mom asked, and I froze, picking the Wagyu beef.
"School is the same as ever. Going to class and just the normal things," I said as I put the beef on my plate.
"What about crush?"
"Isn't that too much, Hye? I don't want too much pressure on my grandson," Grandma said.
"Okay, Mom. I would ask when the time is right,"Mom said.
"But I would really love to know. Any crush?" Aunt said.
"No," I said.

Liela's POV
I was having dinner with my parents who were staring at me as I eat. What's wrong with them?
"Dad, Mum, any problem?" I asked, getting tired from their stares.
"Nothing, just want to know if you like someone," she asked, and I paused for a while. Really, that was the first question you're asking me.
"No, because Rule 35 says I shouldn't fall in love or have any crush," I said.
"That's good because you're already taken," she said.
"What do you mean, Mom?" I asked, confused.
"You'll know with time. Let's just eat, dear," Dad said, laughing to break the tense atmosphere.
"How was school, Liela?" Dad asked.
"It was fine," I said, forcing a response.
After dinner, I went to my room and shut the door. Such uncaring people as parents, I said as I laid down on the bed. I really can't wait for Christmas to come so I could leave this place I called home.
**
For the first few weeks I spent at home were boring, but at least I had something that kept me busy, my books and piano. I wrote a song named "Savior" and I played the piano as I sang.
"You were there, you saved me...."
"Who saved you?" I heard as the door opened. It was Mom.
"No one," I quickly said.
"Tell me."
"It's a song I wrote since these days have been boring for me," I said.
"Here, take my card and go shopping," she said as she placed it on my table.
"Thanks, Mom," I said as I went to take it. I quickly changed, and my driver drove me to Savoy Mall. I was going to buy clothes for school and, most especially, for that special day to meet him.
I went to different stores to shop for clothes, bags, jewelry, watches, makeup, heels, hair products, snacks, food, and cakes. The shopping bags that was carried out of the store by the chauffeur and other staff from different stores were much. I sat in the car feeling satisfied as I looked at my mom's card.
I came back home, and the guards joined to help the chauffeur take the bags to my room. I went to her room to give her the card.
"Thanks, Mom," I said once again giving her the card.
"You spent six million on shopping, Liela. I gave you my card, and you've gone to buy the whole world," she said.
"I'm sorry. I'll be careful with my shopping next time," I said, and she told me to leave with her hands as she continued reading. I left the room smirking, serves you right Mom.
I went to the room to see the bags placed beside my bed. I called five maids to help me unpack it.
