Chapter 27 - New neighbours

💞Love from a distance:Atale of unexpected connection💞

💞Chapter 27💞

Liela's POV

"Is that how you treat someone, you weakling!" I yelled as I rubbed my butt.

Ryan's POV

I walked faster, my face already dark with anger. "I wanted to help, but you refused. Not like I care," I said, although an inner voice whispered that I did care. Dismissing the thoughts, I went back to the villa. Upon entering, I saw the elegant interior decorations and magnificent paintings on the walls. My mom came out from the kitchen.

"Son, where have you been?" she asked in a worried tone as she came towards me.

"I'm not in the mood, Mom," I said as I went upstairs to find my room.

Kim Hye's POV

"Dear, I'm tired of this," I said as my husband approached me.

"I want my old son back, love," I said, pained. My husband patted me gently.

"He's still the same, Hye In," he reassured me.

"He isn't! If that horrible thing never happened, my son would still be happy, playful, and loving. But now, he doesn't smile and has a cold attitude. This isn't the son I bore," I complained.

"Honey, don't stress. He's still the same," he said.

Ryan's POV

As I entered the room, it looked exactly like my old room, my taste. "Dad and mom did a splendid job," I said as I sat on my comfy office chair. I opened my bag and brought out the picture, staring at it.

"Liela, you...I'm speechless," I said, placing the picture in a frame and standing up to shower. After showering, I heard a knock on the door.

"Who's that?" I inquired.

"Young master, dinner is ready," the maid said and left. I dressed in a blue Burberry shirt and joggers before leaving the room.

Liela's POV

I got home angry and went straight to my room, venting my anger on my pillow. I was informed that dinner was ready, so I stopped and went to eat. During dinner, my mom mentioned our new neighbors and asked me to pay them a visit.

"I thought we don't welcome new neighbors, and rule twenty-four says no welcoming of new neighbors," I said.

"For this case, the rule doesn't apply. Do the needful after your meal," she said.

After dinner, I was given a basket of food, snacks, drinks, and gifts to take to our new neighbors' house. I reluctantly went and was impressed by their luxurious villa.

A lady in uniform led me inside, where I saw a man, woman, and young guy eating. The man asked why I was there, and nervously, I said I came to welcome them to the neighborhood. The young woman invited me to join them for dinner, but Soo ho, the young guy, seemed cold and not interested.

After some back and forth, I decided to stay for dinner, despite Soo ho's icy attitude.
