Not bothered by the ongoing fight, Lex casually bypassed everyone and instead headed towards a specific direction his steps purposeful yet unhurried.
The others quickly joined the fray after the slight shock, in a few minutes with one of the commanders dead, and the other seemly missing, the remaining Horduk were quickly taken care of by the rest with the help of a few other
Lex glanced at the surrounding, his blue eyes reflected the flickering embers of the nearby chaos as he made his way toward a specific person where the non-combatants had sought refuge during the attack.
As he arrived at the building, Lex cast a casual glance around, observing the aftermath of the battle.
The interior was filled with children and elderly seeking shelter, their eyes filled with a mixture of fear and hope as they caught sight of Lex.
This made everyone's spirit pick up slightly after sensing no more noise outside
Unfazed by the attention, Lex continued his stride, paying no mind to the lingering gazes.
He made his way followed by the others who were curious as to what he was searching for to the area where a few children had settled, a space that offered a sense of safety amidst the chaos.
The tiled floor was now occupied by various individuals attending to the wounded and comforting those in distress.
Suddenly a faint shadow appeared at the corner and attempted to grab at Lex's head
His hands slowly reached toward Lex's neck as a strange and almost humane grin appeared on its friend
"Baamm!!!"
The horduk's arms floated in the air, but couldn't press down further no matter how hard he tried as if a barrier was surrounding Lex
"Boom!!"
A layer of an immense force field exploded outward from Lex's body, in an instant, the horduk's was slammed into the wall before he could even react.
"BAM!"
The wall exploded, and countless pieces of gravel flew out. The stranger's two meter tall body was embedded deep inside the wall, only leaving behind a man-shaped hole a couple meters deep.
Lex didn't even bother lifting his hand as he appeared indifferent through our the whole ordeal
Finally, he turned around and stared at the hole in the wall.
An invisible force extended out and easily grabbed the Horduk out from the wall.
"Can you talk?" Lex looked at the Horduk restrained in midair.
Retreve
"Retrieve…the seed …" The creatures twisted his body and screamed, "Retrieve…" The sound it made seemed to be able to communicate with the soul.
Lex could understand him despite the lack of language being used.
Not interested in further rambling after seemly understanding everything,
"Rrrrippp…"
Endless shadow poured out from Lex and wrapped around the horduk's body, in a few breaths it was torn and devoured without even a speck of dust left
"Still living ?" Lex turned back to look at Argus who was being helped by the others, his body was also gradually reverting to its original size and shape as steam rose with each heavy exhale and inhale
Argus stared dumbfounded, his face pale as a ghost.
He had yet to recover from the earlier over exertion. "Al… alright… thanks for coming to rescue… " he stammered in reply but soon coughed some blood and almost fell
"Kid, it seems like those things are interested in that thing..." Lex casually said as he gestured towards one of the kids among the group who was curled up and shivering.
Argus, whose expression had been looking rather pale, revealed some curiosity.
Sensing Lex's gaze, the kid trembled intensely and quickly removed something from his clothes which he tossed towards Lex
Catching it, Lex had a slight smile as he looked at the item before putting it away "Not bad, it seems as you know your limits. Come find me later, I'll tell you something about that friend of yours"
The others were stunned after seeing the peculiar fruit which the kid tossed to Lex, instantly recognizing it as the same one their companion Selina had on her.
In an instant they quickly understood the root of the attack and the reason for the horduk's abnormal behavior was soon revealed to them, to everyone's surprise, it turned out to be because of a little kid barely ten years old obtained something he shouldn't have had.
Far away from them was a huge forest surrounded by mutant fauna and flora
A giant scarlet tree stood rooted on the ground, the fruits it bore were of three different colors, red, orange and a single purple fruit
The red fruits which continuously spawned lesser humanoid creatures with sharp claws and fang know as Lesser horduk, which continuously attacked a group of humans intruding in their territory
The battlefield was divided in to three camp, a group of giant winged horduk's who did nothing and simply let their lesser brethren massacre the intruders, another group of humans who were seemly lead by a single person but they appeared cold and indifferent to the massacre taking place
Horduk's rampaged everywhere and blood was flowing
But besides a few individuals who stood undeterred, the others weren't so lucky.
Horduk's surged forth crazily from all sides, eating and tearing to shreds humans who attempted to flee
Though they tried to put up a fight, they weren't too strong to begin with and soon they began to feel overwhelmed as soon as they were surrounded by Horduk
"My Lord, save me! My Lord…" They screamed and pleaded towards a tall and robust person who seemly had an air of power around him, but the latter didn't even spare him a glance, let alone place them inside the protective domain surrounding him and a few others
The man's heart turned cold, but he lacked the power to resist in such a situation.
When his mind was distracted, his hand movements also started to deform. In the blink of an eye, he was torn apart by a horduk and his flesh was quick consumed
