On another side, the third group consisted of a few wounded individuals who attempted to leave the battlefield but due to the obstruction of several horduk's, it proved difficult to do so
The two people stood on either end of the team, and a pattern of the sun and moon could be faintly seen on the ground, keeping the horduk's outside while they retreated albeit slowly
The thing that kept the creatures outside resembled a protective barrier. From the outside, it was just a thin film, which seemed like it could be easily broken.
"We have to think of another way," the weak voice of one of the women maintaining the barrier sounded "We can't maintain it for much longer, and…"
"And once the traitors get their hand on that thing then everything will be too late," a man finished for her
He seemed to be in slightly better condition than the woman and her voice didn't have that deep-rooted weakness, but he also sounded quite helpless. "The last time we saw the scarlet tree, it was clear that it would take at least a month to mature, but who could imagine…"
As the sky darkened, the surroundings became quite dark.
When the bright moon appeared in the sky, the surrounding scenery changed.
Lex walked out from his room and came outside.
"It's beginning again."
After looking at the scenery and sensing the things in his body, Lex thought to himself.
He could sense the entity within his body roiling.
There seemed to be some power in the distance awakening, resonating with the thing in his body
Over the past 15 years since his awakening, he had been suppressing the thing this whole time, and he did not allow it to grow.
The entity within him were continuously agitated, as if there was something calling out to it in the distance.
During the little time he spent here, apart from some meditation, he had also been probing here and there and thus had basically figured out the source of the bizzare aura which agitated the entity within him
However, he felt that something was off—if it was really what he thought it was, it wouldn't it be in such dire strait would it?.
And so after some pondering, Lex decided to adopt an attitude of wait and see till the bizzare aura couldn't hold any longer, after all whether now or then, it's fate had already been decided and in the mean time...
Lex had an intriguing smile as he thought about the interesting situation he unexpectedly encountered.
Within the a building, the little kid who handed the scarlet fruit to Lex was currently experiencing a problem
Revre's emotions were in turmoil as well.
Whether things succeed or not depend on tonight…
Hurdled among the group of civilians, Revre lightly sighed.
If things are like in my previous life and I'm captured again and I'm tormented before I die, what would be the point in me living again…
Indeed, the current Revre was totally different from a ten year old kid.
His current self was completely different—because he had regressed and had decades of memories of the future
In his memories, tonight they would certainly be attacked by thesame group of creatures like before, but this time, the leader of the horduk's was immensely powerful and couldn't be repelled by anyone.
After an intense battle, he would be captured along with several others and be brought over to a strange place to be sacrificed.
He remembered that although he managed to survive the sacrifice, he was given as a gift and he became a slave that worked tirelessly till his death.
He had been a slave for more than 20 years during which he suffered immense torment without having any opportunity to escape.
The him now basically didn't have any means to resist, and running wasn't really an option either, so what if he ran- his currently feeble body couldn't possibly escape from a second evolution monster could he??.
He laughed miserably at his helplessness, who said knowledge was power.... without atleast some strength to protect one's self, having infinite knowledge is useless before absolute power.
All he knew was that if he did not do anything, he would become a slave for the next 20 years.
This time, he might not have the luck to survive 20 years.
As such, he had to change this situation.
Right now, his only hope in turning the situation around was the person who had saved them
He remembered that his name was Lex, and he was an exceptional figure who had slayed several Outer Gods and had even managed to fight on equal ground with an Ancestor of the alien race.
From what Revre remembered, Lex had survived the attack from tonight and was able to escape.
In the following few decades, he later on disappeared form everyone's view only to return and slayed several Outer Gods
As long as he was willing to protect him, with Revre's own schemes, perhaps he would be able to escape from this danger.
As long as he could leave this place, with Revre's understanding towards the future, he would be able to quickly regain his cultivation and obtain many fortuitous opportunities.
When that time came, he would be able to run rampant and do what he wanted to do.
In my previous life, by the time I had become an powerhouse, everything was already over as the war was already lost. However, in this life…
Thinking about how he had died back then, his eyes displayed complex emotions like fear, pain, sadness, hatred and hope.
As he thought to himself, he heard some faint footsteps from outside
"Mr Lex"
Outside, Lex's voice sounded out audible for everyone to hear "Its almost midnight you all can rest without worries, I'm here"
Argus wanted to talk but got persuaded by the others and thus he left their discussion to tomorrow as it proved really late
His voice was pleasant and sounded sincere thus easing the worries of everyone as fatigue gave way to sleep
