[SAKURA]
Heartbreak was not new to Sakura Watanabe. It had been her reality for the longest time, even when her heart was never beating. She had always been the girl who lost more than she had comprehended and more than she could afford to lose.
For years she had grown into a vicious queen, a woman who used her rage and power to protect herself and her fragile heart from being broken again.
She had struggled to live through it and if the past ten days with Kiyomi Kimura taught her something, it was the fact that Sakura was worth loving. She was worth going to wars for.
She was worth waiting for, and that was a reality that Sakura had believed and reigned in because this time, as she looked at the apartment where she had been with her erasthai and didn't find her, she knew what she would do.
… Burn the world, for Kiyomi Kimura.
"Otaru… check-in," Sakura said in the mind link as she cleaned up the apartment she had been in for the past ten days.
Elif was still at the hospital and while Sakura could have used her magic to clean up this place, or even left it uncleaned, she wanted to be a part of this little family.
Elif was the one person who had taught Kiyomu humanity and Sakura would forever be grateful for it. She was not going to mess up their lives once again.
"Your majesty… How did the proposal go? It's been seven months since you went to the humans, you must have really been having a good time there, damn," Otaru said and Sakura froze.
That couldn't have been true.
There had to be a mess because, at the end of the day, she had counted ten sunsets and sunrises. She had spent ten beautiful days and now she had woken up and she was gone.
There had to be a reason for that and while Saki was glad to form her enforcer, she wasn't going to let anyone take Kiyomi Kimura from her.
"Oh yeah? You snoopy little shit. I need updates on what has been going on there," Sakura said, her tone normal despite the fact that she hadn't thought that it had been seven months.
It was risky for Otaru to know about her suspicions and what she couldn't piece up, but then again, there wasn't much that she could do. She was a queen and losing time was just not what she had imagined.
Seven months was a long time and the fact that it felt like seven days was all that Saki needed to know that so much had happened. Maybe she had gotten lost in her love for Kiyomi, or maybe it was something to do with magic.
Then again, Sakura Watanabe was impervious to magic. She was so powerful that nothing would ever work on her, and that left the question of what had happened. Had she truly been here for seven months?
However, Otaru had never lied to her, so what happened?
"Ooh looks like someone finally got laid. Damn, girl, you must have gone a thousand rounds without queen consort. I wouldn't blame you though, because she is the perfect match to your crazy, your majesty," Otaru said with a laugh and Sakura sighed.
Her best friend was unhinged, there was no other explanation for what she was listening to right now. However, it was exciting to know that some things never changed despite the time.
No matter what angle she looked at it from, she couldn't think of anything that could have forced her into that time gap. It made no sense, except for one thing, but Sakura wasn't about to think of it right now.
She had been happy, whether it was for seven months or ten days, and that was all that she wanted to think about even as she cleaned the floor in earnest.
"I said updates, not for you to fuss about my love life, you weirdo," Sakura said and Otaru just laughed at his queen. He could already imagine the face she was wearing and he understood her a little too well.
"Okay, okay. Fine. Well, everything is okay here, nothing is wrong and nothing is amiss… well save for the fact that people are trying to claim your pets given they haven't seen you for the longest time.
"Your majesty, perhaps we should let the pets be free?" Otaru asked, his tone changing at the last statement.
The pet system was enforced to make sure that no one thought Queen Sakura had a weakness. It had worked ever so perfectly because Sakura Watanabe was the devil without a soul.
Everyone knew her heart would never beat for anyone… that nothing mattered to her which was a little crazy seeing as she was addicted to Kiyomi kimura. There were so many things that could have happened truly, and frankly, this here was the only thing that Sakura would forever hide.
"The pets stay. Let everyone fuck them if they need to; but they stay. Get me more pets arranged for me, I will be coming home soon," Sakura said and Otaru stayed silent for a moment.
He had seen for himself how Sakura had loved Kiyomi Kimura. He had seen how she had been so happy, how things had been smooth even when there was never any hope.
Hope had finally found his queen, but hearing her like that was something that Otaru hadn't ever experienced. Then again, at the end of the day, Otaru knew he was just a servant to the queen.
They may have been best friends but the queen could easily replace him and he wouldn't ever have a say in that decision. Still, the thought of having the pet system going on was absurd and he didn't understand it.
How did Kiyomi figure it out? What if life was never the same for the both of them? What if the bond that the world had to bring to life ended because the queen was not just a person to let things go? What then? What would happen to Saki and Kiki?
Oh, but Otaru was way too stressed about that more than his queen.
"Alright, your majesty. Is there anything else you need?" Otaru asked, and Saki sighed.
"No, nothing. And good work with what you did there. I'll be back soon; please prepare the reports for me. This time, I think I might be back for a little longer than I thought possible," Saki said and Otaru knew what that meant.
He hated that reality, but even he couldn't fight against what was waiting for Sakura. At the end of the day, she was the Lycan queen and queens ran kingdoms, not overstaying their welcome in a different realm.
Perhaps the next time that she would be back, she would have a better explanation and a simpler life, right?
"If that is all, have a good day, your highness," Otaru said before the mind links were shut and Saki was left wondering what the fuck had just happened. Time was never to be fucked with and yet she was missing time.
To make matters worse, she didn't know where the fuck hr. erasthai was. Oh, she was trying so hard to be a patient woman, but everything was just crazy damned right now for her.
"Kiki is fine, right?" Sakura said in her plight to not cause a ruckus over a possible nothing.
