Chapter 67 - Chapter 53: The Slums (7)

As Thomas and Loe got closer to the figure, Thomas felt a rush of hope and shock. Seeing Spiderman in the chaos was a big relief. He spoke with a trembling voice, full of surprise and relief. "Spiderman, you're here!" he said, his eyes wide with amazement.

"What are you doing here, Sir Thomas?" I asked, addressing Teacher Thomas with a mixture of astonishment and curiosity.

Teacher Thomas's response was solid, his voice cutting through the situation with absolute determination. " Well, here to save my student," he stated, his words filled with a clear sense of duty and dedication that everyone could feel.

I thought to myself, fair enough, after all, Chris is gone, so it's expected that Teacher would save him. Then, it suddenly dawned on me that Teacher Thomas could protect Mark and the others while I looked for Chris. I turned to Teacher Thomas, pointing in a certain direction. "Sir Thomas, there is someone there," I said, my voice urgent. "There are many people that I rescued hiding there. Can you protect them for me?" I continued, "I still have to save the other two that I sense."

For a moment, Teacher Thomas seemed taken aback by my request, "Wh-what?" his expression shifting from surprise to resolve. He nodded in understanding, his reassuring smile offering me the comfort I needed. "You don't have to explain," he said calmly, sensing the urgency in my demeanor. "I'll handle this. Go, son, and do what you need to do." His words carried a sense of unwavering assurance.

I felt grateful as I looked into Teacher Thomas's eyes, his presence comforting me like a protective shield. "Thanks, Sir Thomas," I whispered softly, my voice barely audible as I turned to continue my searching for chris.

Before swinging off towards Chris's presumed location, I took one final look at Teacher Thomas. To my surprise, I saw the buzz-cut young man standing beside him. But I didn't dwell on it. My only focus was on finding Chris amid all the situations.

After Spiderman left.Thomas Halloway thought about the chance that Chris might be where Spiderman had pointed. This idea made him feel a bit hopeful but also nervous. "Perhaps Chris is there," he thought quietly.

Meanwhile

Anton led Sephiro through the maze-like corridors of the slum base, his steps quick and confident. Despite the rush, he stayed calm and collected, keeping his attention fixed on their goal as he guided Sephiro forward.

Finally, they arrived at a room where the vibranium was kept safe. Sephiro's eyes lit up with satisfaction as he saw the precious metal before him, knowing that its incredible power would soon be under his control.

Then Sephiro turned to Anton and said, "You're dismissed, Anton. You may leave now."

Anton nodded obediently, relief evident in his expression as he quickly exited in the Room, eager to be away from the tense atmosphere. With a final nod to Sephiro, he hurried out of the room, leaving Sephiro alone with the vibranium, his mind already racing with plans for its use.

"Finally, I can absorb the power," Sephiro declared triumphantly as he stood before the Vibranium, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. With a determined expression, he began to remove his clothes, revealing the Vibranium heart implanted underneath in his chest. With each piece of clothing dropped, he felt a rush of anticipation. knowing that soon he would channel the power of the Vibranium through his artificial heart.

As Sephiro undressed, the Vibranium heart in his chest pulsed with a faint blue light, syncing with the nearby Vibranium's energy. With each beat of his enhanced heart, he felt a surge of power rushing through him, making him feel strong and unstoppable.

It was like plugging into a power source; the energy flowed through him, charging him up like a battery. Each thump of his vibranium heart was like a shot of adrenaline, pumping him full of vigor and confidence.

Sephiro grinned victoriously, his eyes shining with the vibranium's glow. He was no longer just a man– he was a powerhouse, ready to take on anything. With his new powers, he was unstoppable. Bring it on, world. Sephiro was coming for you.

Meanwhile (Mc Pov)

As I swung forward to Chris's location, I sensed two chi signatures. One was Chris, and the other I didn't recognize, but it was probably his dad since there were many wealthy individuals who were caught. So, there's a probability that it is his dad. Wow, I really thought of this, huh? Anyway, my question is: Why did they take Chris's dad to another room, not like any other?

With each swing of my web, I drew closer to my goal, the minutes ticking by relentlessly as I raced against the setting sun. Time was of the essence, and I knew that every second counted if I was to rescue Chris and his father, I swing from one room to another before it was too late.

Of course, many enemies spotted me, but I was fast enough to evade their gaze and swing away again.

As I finally reached the room where they were being held.

Meanwhile (Chris side)

"So that's what happened, Dad," Chris spoke up, his voice tinged with frustration. "They targeted you just because you're one of the government's roots."

"No, it's not like that," Conrad began to explain, but Chris cut him off.

"It's a root! Okay, you're one of the backbone of the government," Chris insisted, his tone growing more impassioned. "Because you're too greedy, Dad. You got the power you wanted, and the government became your support in your projects," he continued, his words fueled by pent-up resentment. "People respected you, but what about me? What about Mother, our family? You're using your own son for your benefits."

Conrad felt a wave of sadness as he looked at Chris, seeing the angry and confusion in his eyes. He knew he hadn't been there for his son when he needed him most. He blamed himself for not paying enough attention to what was going on around them. "I'm really sorry, Chris," he said softly, filled with regret and self-blame. " I should have protected you better."

Chris's frustration mounted as he responded, "You should have done it earlier, Dad. We don't know, we might die here," he said, his voice heavy with resignation. "That's why it's too late."

Chris's words weighed heavily in the room, and silence lingered, thick with tension. Conrad felt lost for words, his mind racing with regret and a deep sense of loss. Despite his cold demeanor, Conrad loved his family more than anything. Yet, his pursuit of power and ambition had clouded his judgment, causing him to lose sight of what was truly important.

"I... Chris," Conrad began, his voice shaking with emotion. He wanted to tell his son how sorry he was, to apologize for hurting him. But he couldn't find the right words. choked by the weight of his own failings. Stopping him from saying what he needed to.

In that moment, Conrad understood how much he had neglected his family and how badly he had hurt them. He felt deep sorrow realizing that his desire for power had been more important to him than his love for his family. But it was too late for him to change things. He couldn't ignore this painful truth anymore.

The door opened, and Conrad and Chris prepared for the worst. They were scared and thought they might die. But then, someone they knew came in. He wore a black suit with some blue, and his eyes were blue too. On his chest was a blue spider symbol. It was none other than your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
