Fire danced changing colors and shapes, in the center of the room, and in front of the fire stood a man, he was dressed all in black, with a black mask covering his face, he held a barely conscious man in front of him,with a knife held against his throat.
The darkest forms of magic, were practiced in this place of ancient evil.
The man in black, slit the throat of the man he was holding , his blood squirted into the fire and mixed with the flames, then suddenly the flames turned black , the man in black, then pushed the body of the dying man into the fire, the flames instantly devoured the man , black flames flickered wildly , from the corner of the room a cloaked figure approached the black flames ,Lyndanim the evil witch Queen of Narciar, a creature of pure hate and evil ,stopped before the black flames,Lyndanim was an ancient evil, a creature that was half demon, and half witch , she had been alive for millennia upon millennia , Lyndanim had always aligned herself with dark powers, and for more than a thousand years, she had been allied with the Shadow King , it was Lyndanim who supplied the shadow king with the cursed poison, that he had used on the Vampire King , enabling him to usurp the throne and rule the Lands of Night .
It had been Lyndanim, who had pushed the shadow king to betray the Vampire king , she had seen a vision that showed her two outcomes, one where the vampire king rose to become the supreme god ,and the other where she ruled along side of the shadow king .
As Lyndanim looked deep into the black flames, the light fell upon her face she had dark black eyes, and her hair was as black as night,she had two small black horns atop her head, her skin was a very pale white with a slight gray tone,her face although beautiful was frightening to look upon,as she stared into the black flames ,she spoke in a language that was only spoken by the darkest of souls, she said show me the future, show me our enemies , reveal to me what has yet to come.
Slowly an image appeared in the flames, an image of a great battle, dead and mutilated bodies scattered the battlefield ,Lyndanim was shocked by what she saw ,the headless corpses of the shadow king ,and Lyndanim herself ,could clearly be seen in the vision that was playing out in the black flames , using all the power she had at her disposal, she tried to see who had defeated the shadow king, and the witch queen of Narciar, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't see who her enemy was, it was infuriating her,it was as if the gods themselves had denied her the information, she could think of only one ,that may have the power to deny her the information in the vision, the shadow king had failed to capture or kill her, no one knew what had become of her ,she had not been seen or heard of in centuries ,the oracle of Rinaway, could it be that she is still alive , or is this the work of the gods of light the opposers of evil ,Lyndanim thought to herself.
" So an opposing power is rising, well I will make certain that the possible future would never come to be, I will inform the shadow king of my vision ,and advise him to put down any insurrection ,any challenge to the authority of the shadow king, would be dealt with harshly,rebellion could not be allowed to happen ,we will maintain control and grow in power ,we will stamp out the enemy before they could gather forces, we will eliminate the threat before it becomes unstoppable ,Lyndanim thought to herself.
The black flames suddenly shifted, and the form of a great dragon was seen ,Lyndanim felt that the dragon was watching her ,before the room was plunged into darkness as the flames flickered out of existence .
What was that , what does a dragon have to do with the vision, this is strange thought the witch queen .
The witch queen clicked her fingers ,and torches around the walls of the room lit up , Illuminating the room with fire light.
The man in the black mask, bowed before the witch queen .
" My queen, what are your order" said the man in black .
The queen looked at him for a moment without saying anything she seemed to not see him as if she was looking at something only she could see ,then her eyes focused and looked at the man in front of her.
" Send spies to every world we can ,a new power is rising ,and I want information ,I want to know everything that happens that is out of the ordinary ,keep watching and stay vigilant, have our forces prepared to put down any threat" said the witch queen.
"As you wish my queen "said the man dressed in black .
" priest do not fail me " said the queen.
Bowing once more, the priest left the room, and Lyndanim was left alone with her thoughts.
Lyndanim cast a spell, and flames flashed once more in the center of the room ,green flame flickered ,as the witch queen spoke words of power, to contact the shadow king.
The shadow king sat on the throne, in the palace of the king, in the center of the Lands of Night ,he was staring at the fire in the fireplace, letting his mind wander, his eyes noticed that the flames had changed from orange and red ,to a bright green colour, and the face of Lyndanim the witch queen ,could be seen in the flames ,the shadow king got up from the throne, and walked over to the fire place ,bending down he made eye contact with the witch queen .
" Lyndanim what can I do for you "said Ardin Shadowbrook the shadow king.
" I have had a vision , a vision of the future, there is an unknown power that is rising , and in my vision I saw us defeated, on a battlefield upon a distant world" said the witch queen.
The shadow king raised his large wings ,his eyes were glowing red ,a stunned look appeared on the face of the shadow king, as he looked at the image of the witch queen in the flames.
"Tell me everything "said the shadow king.
" I saw us both beheaded ,on a battlefield covered in blood and carnage, I could not see the enemy, I have no idea who we face, I have been denied this information no matter what I try ,no magic will let me see the face of our enemy, I feel the will of the gods, has a lot to do with this enemy we face.
I tried to push the vision to see what I could not see, the face of the enemy ,instead what I saw was a mighty black dragon ,looking down on me,I can not see the enemy, but through my vision I felt some echo of the enemies power , a small taste of its true strength, the feeling I got was of ancient god like power ,we must do everything we can to ensure that this enemy never reaches its full potential, we must do every possible to find and destroy this threat ,or the vision I have seen will come to pass, I have ordered my spies to spread to every possible world, and search for anything out of the ordinary. I have ordered my soldiers that rebellion must be stopped ,before it can begin "said the witch queen.
Only blackness could be seen ,apart from his bright red eyes ,and bright red flames that danced around his black horns ,the shadow form of the shadow king was pure black shadow ,taking a deep breath the shadow king looked at the witch .
" I will raise an army from hell,I will not let anything keep me from my destiny, I will rule the Lands of Night forever, even if I have to become a god to do it , I will unleash the demon hoards of hell, upon the human world and gain more power ,we will feed on the souls of all who dare to stand against us.
Go now Lyndanim ,and tell your followers to be ready for my call to battle "said the shadow king.
The fire flicked for a moment, before the green flames disappeared ,and the fire returned to normal , standing up from the fire place, the shadow king called his demon commanders before him .
There was a flash of red flames, and four demons appeared ,they wore black armor and they had large red horns ,muscular bodies and dark red skin ,their eyes were yellow with black pupils, each demon carried a large broadsword, and bowed before the shadow king.
"There is a new power rising ,one that could destroy everything, one that could defeat us , any sign of rebellion is to be extinguished, we will not tolerate insurrection, kill all traitors ,we will deny the enemy any chance to build an army against us ,do I make myself clear " said the shadow king.
"Yes lord very clear " said the demons.
