Alex sighed, his expression remaining calm. He slowly rose from the table and walked over to Ava, taking her hand gently. "Let's not worry about that now. We need to talk."
Ava followed him to the living room sofa, her heart heavy with unease. She knew her recent behavior had affected him, and though she wanted to control her emotions, she found it impossible to change.
