Chapter 28 - Ulterior Motives

At this moment, it was crystal clear that Nathan Ford was determined not to take sides. Biting her lip fiercely, Iris Hart blamed Ava Sterling for her predicament; if not for that woman, she would have already secured the project. 

 

"Nathan, with your support, I'm sure to win!" she declared. 

 

Holding a glass of wine, Nathan then carefully applied some ointment to her swollen wound. Iris winced in pain, inhaling sharply. 

 

"Try to bear with it," Nathan couldn't help but say, looking up at her. 

 

"It's okay, I can handle it." 

 

After treating her wound, Nathan made a motion to stand. Iris suddenly grabbed his arm. 

 

"Are you leaving?" she asked. 

 

Before Nathan could respond, Iris pleaded, "Could you stay with me tonight? My foot is injured, and it's difficult for me to move around."
