Meanwhile, on Earth, twenty five days ago to be precise.
This is May 28th 2013, the day that Champions League final would be played.
Camp Nou, Spain..
"Hello and welcome to the Champions League preview show!" the announcer exclaimed. "Today, we have Daniel Hunter, the captain of Barcelona, joining us live in the studio!"
"Hello Daniel, it's nice to meet you," the newscaster said, extending his hand for a handshake. "Thanks so much for joining us on the show today."
"Thanks for having me," Daniel replied, shaking his hand firmly. "I'm excited to be here."
"Great, well let's get right into it," the newscaster said, gesturing to the camera. "You're here to talk about your team's chances in this Champions League final. You've made some bold statements in the press lately, saying that your team is going to win it all. What makes you so confident?"
Daniel smiled, leaning forward in his seat. "Well, I believe in my team. We've got a talented group of players, and we've been working hard to perfect our strategy. We're young, we're determined and we're determined to make it happen."
"Oh…."
."I know you guys are playing one of the most talented teams on the planet, the winners of this competition last year was the engimatic Real Madrid"
"What would be your chances this time..."
the newscaster asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.
"I don't think it's just a possibility, I believe it's a reality," Daniel said confidently. "With the likes of Andrés Iniesta, Lionel Messi, and Ronaldinho by my side, I've had the privilege of leading this talented team to the top."
"That's impressive, Daniel," the newscaster said. "And I hear you've been playing a crucial role on the right wing, with your popular friend Messi on the left. How do you think this partnership will fare in the finals?"
"I'm confident that together, we can deliver top-notch performances and bring home the title," Daniel replied.
"And I think that this year's Champions League might just be the key to unlocking our team's full potential..."
"You guys have dominated La Liga for decades"the newscaster said.. "FC Barcelona is one of the best teams on the planet, if not, the best"."What do you imply by unlocking your full potential?" the newscaster asked, leaning forward in his seat.
"Well," Daniel began, "I believe that every player has a hidden reserve of talent and skill that's waiting to be tapped. And I'm not just talking about physical ability – I'm talking about mental toughness, strategic thinking, and a winning mentality."
"That sounds like a pretty lofty goal," the newscaster said, raising an eyebrow. "How do you plan to achieve it?"
"We've been working on our teamwork, our communication, and our adaptability," Daniel explained. "We've got a fantastic coach who's helped us develop a winning strategy, and we've been putting in the hard work on the training pitch. But it's not just about the physical preparation – it's about believing in ourselves, and knowing that we've got the talent and the drive to succeed."
"And what about the pressure of expectation?" the newscaster pressed. "You're talking about winning your 10th Champions League as a team – that's a huge goal. How do you handle the pressure of living up to your own hype?"
Daniel smiled confidently.
"Pressure is just fuel for the fire. We thrive under pressure. And when we step out onto that pitch, we know we've got the skills, the talent, and the determination to make it happen.
"We're not just playing for ourselves – we're playing for our team, our fans, and our legacy. And that's what drives us to be the best we can be."
"Wow, I would love to be inspired by you, Daniel," the newscaster said, smiling. "Well, it's nice meeting you and good luck on the game coming a few minutes from now," the newscaster said, shaking Daniel's hand.
"Thanks so much, appreciate it," Daniel replied, shaking his hand firmly. "And thank you for having me on the show, it was a lot of fun."
"Anytime, Daniel. We'll be watching you and your team today. And who knows, maybe we'll see you back here after you win the Champions League," the newscaster said with a laugh.
Daniel grinned. "I'd like that. And I'm going to make sure it happens."
The newscaster nodded. "I believe you will. Well, we're out of time for today. Thanks again, Daniel, and good luck!"
"Thanks, appreciate it," Daniel said, standing up and waving to the camera before exiting the studio.
The newscaster turned to the camera. "And that's all for today, folks. Don't forget to tune in to the Champions League match today, as Daniel and his team take on Real Madrid. It's going to be a thrilling match, and we can't wait to see what happens. Until next time, goodbye!"
With only ten minutes to go before the match, the captain's interview came to a close as the camera stopped rolling, and the TV channel switched to a commercial break.
Daniel finished his interview and headed back to the dressing room.
He thought to himself, "If I win this, it would make my dad proud. It could also boost my career and the careers of my teammates."
"I bet my current transfer value would be more than a hundred million Euros...."
As he reached for the door handle, he didn't notice a small needle lying there. It pricked his skin, causing a tiny cut, but Daniel didn't seem to notice. He turned the handle, opened the door, and smiled. His teammates and coach were all there, waiting for him to finish his interview.
Daniel's smile didn't go unnoticed by the guys in the room. He glanced around, seeing his pals Messi and Xavi getting dressed. Xavi reassured him, "Don't worry, amigo, we'll celebrate regardless. Our cabinet is full after this."
"I just hope this match goes well....", Daniel muttered.
"Let's say a quick prayer," Iniesta suggested from the back.
The team joined hands, forming a circle. But just as they began, Daniel scratched his nose and noticed blood on his palms.
"What's wrong, Hunt?" his coach asked, looking concerned.
Daniel stumbled backward, blood streaming down his nose.
Panic spread through the team.
"What's happening to me?" Daniel thought, alarm and confusion written all over his face.
"DANIEL.....!!!!!!!!!"
"HUNT.....!!!!!!" "HUNT!!!!!!!!!!!" "HUNT!!!!!"
This were the cries of Daniel's teammates as they watched him falling to the ground.
His heartbeat started becoming slower each second.
In Daniel's mind, he couldn't believe this....
This wasn't how he imagined his end to be, this night was supposed to propel him to the peak of his career.
To him, he hadn't achieved anything.
His eyesight started becoming blurry each second..
"DANIEL ...", he heard one final cry, before he shut his cold eyes.
He had finally died.
