"I am in Invincible's body", he thought.
Daniel's mind raced as he struggled to comprehend the chaos unfolding before him.
He felt his mouth moving, speaking words that weren't his own, as if possessed by a foreign entity.
"I have seen you save people…."
"Maybe ..I knew you were a …."..."
"Is everyone worthless", Daniel said. "Is Mum's life worthless?"
Then the response that made the Mark rage was
"In the grand scheme of things, YES!!!!!
Daniel's thoughts screamed in protest, "Stop this! I'm not ready. Please, Mark, stop!" But his body, now under Mark's control, refused to listen.
With a fierce cry, Daniel's fists flew, pummeling the red and white superhero with a strength he never knew he possessed.
Then the superhero stumbled back, shock etched on his face, as Daniel's onslaught continued.
"LIAR!"
Daniel's eyes locked onto the young man, his mind seething with anger. "Shit..." he muttered, his fists still clenched from the outburst. It was obvious that the young man was obviously happy with his plight.
He glared at the smirking figure. "You fucker," he thought,. "I would kill you if I could."
"No...no way!" Daniel's thoughts were cut short as Omniman's headbutt connected with a sickening crunch. The force of the blow sent him crashing to the ground, the impact exploding in a burst of pain. "Shit, this hurts as hard as it looks!" Daniel's mind raced, his body spasming from the brutal attack.
The ground beneath him gave way, and he felt himself plummeting into a dark, abyssal void, the world above him disappearing in an instant.
But meanwhile Daniel opened his eyes in horror when he found out that he was at the familiar place, the one that made the animated movie so popular.
The train scene.
"Maybe this time you would learn…..", the most controversial statement he had heard Omniman say.
Daniel's thoughts were a jumbled mix of fear, panic, and desperation. "Shit!!!!" he mentally screamed, his body trapped in a vice-like grip. He struggled with all his might, but it was no use.
He turned his head, and the young man's maniacal laughter pierced his ears. "Please, I beg of you...I don't know..." Daniel's mind raced, grasping for anything. "Creator, Ruler...Please, I beg of you..."
He stumbled over his words, his thoughts were disintegrating into incoherent pleas. "Are you a god? Please, God...I beg of you..." His voice trailed off, his mind consumed by darkness. "Don..."
The word hung in his mind, unfinished, as everything went red. Then Daniel's world went dark as his mind reeled in horror.
BAMM!!!!!!!
The train collided with him, the impact sending shockwaves through his entire being.
But instead of feeling pain, Daniel's senses were overwhelmed by a gruesome spectacle. His hand now felt like a butcher's knife. He saw himself slashing and cutting, the screams of the innocent filling the air.
The train's passengers was now lay dying around him.
Blood splattered everywhere, the metallic smell of gore filling his nostrils. Daniel's mind recoiled in disgust, his thoughts screaming in protest.
"No! This can't be! I'm not a monster!"
"Please stop! Nolan!!!!", Daniel thought, but it wasn't only his consciousness.
Him and Mark's.
But the carnage continued, his body seemingly beyond his control. The train's wreckage became a slaughterhouse, the dead and dying strewn about like discarded dolls.
[Experiencing it from Mark's view seem to make him traumatized. I bet it is first time seeing blood]
The young man thought.
The young man's fingers snapped, and the scene around them dissolved into chaos. The sound of shattering glass and crumbling concrete filled the air as the world seemed to implode.
But amidst this, Daniel stood frozen, his body shaking uncontrollably. His mind reeled, struggling to process the horrors he had witnessed.
The young man's smirk grew wider as he gloated, "You see, now you accord me respect..."
"Now, your body seems to acknowledge that you are weak…"
Daniel's eyes were vacant, his gaze fixed on some distant point beyond the palace.
His mind was shattered, reduced to a mere spectator in his own body.
It was far horrifying to experience what Mark had as a side consciousness.
The young man's words dripped with condescension, "You see, you can't do anything to me...At least now, you have got respect for me. You never talk about anything on a whim again..."
He continued, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Omniman wanted someone who could help him. He was like a god walking on Earth. But look at his son, oblivious to..."
"He really angered his dad that day…."
The young man's chuckle sent shivers down Daniel's spine. "In the grand scheme of things, the winner is always the loser. You don't know me, but you thought we were equals. You commanded me, thinking you won with your arguments. Now, I've shown you my power to traverse worlds."
"I am some kind of God, aren't I?"
"Now, it's time for Daddy's old story…."
"Wait….", Daniel asked ….
This time he was so afraid, you could say traumatized at least.
"Why did you summon me to your world?", he asked. "Is it just torture me for your own benefits…"
"That's the point, now you are asking a good question.", the young man replied.
"I am not doing that because you would die getting traumatised. I have millions of ways I can torture people, let's leave that of course"
"The reason I summoned you was that….. was for changing the world", the young man said.
"You see, Daniel, Earth has been plagued by conflicts and wars for centuries. And they have always built themselves up. Why did you think that? Or...."
"Have you ever stopped to think about the root cause of it all?"
Daniel's mind, still foggy from his ordeal, struggled to keep up. "W-wars? I don't know...power, land, resources?"
"Then, what about the end?", the young man still asked.
"Bloodshed, violence.....", Daniel replied.
The young man said, chuckling "Yes, those are the obvious answers. But there's something more profound at play. You see, wars are a pointer of a whole larger idea - the idea of Supremacy."
"Supremacy?" Daniel repeated. "I don't get it"
Then the young man leaned in.
"Yes, as in the fight of the fittest".
"The reason I summoned you, Daniel, was to reveal a harsh truth."
"You came to me, and when I showed you I'm supreme. You cowered before me and well, the trauma is still there right?"
"The world is not a gentle place, where the weak are coddled and protected. It is a crucible, where the strong survive and the weak are forced to evolve... or perish. Wars exist because the strong seek to dominate, to impose their will upon the weak. And the weak, in turn, must adapt, must evolve, if they wish to survive. This is the natural order of things, the law of the jungle."
"And I intend for you, Daniel to be the one who shapes this world, who forces the weak to evolve... or destroys them altogether."
"I don't understand what you are saying… Get to the point!"Daniel said.
"Now, as you know I created a world just like your own. No peace, just wars of attrition. Something more similar to the Norwegians who conquered England and the Danes …."
"Yeah, similar to Earth…"
"I called it my main masterpiece….."
