The atmosphere in the forest grew tense with Zabuza's arrival. However, before the business exchange between Kakashi and Zabuza ended, Naruto jumped out first.
"Yosh, this this is our enemy, huh? This time I won't just stand still doing nothing." The ignorant are fearless. Naruto was not afraid of the Demon Zabuza, but instead prepared a battle with great vigor to redeem himself.
Kakashi extended a hand, stopping Naruto from jumping in. His gaze remained fixed on Zabuza, who stood on his sword's handle. "Back off Naruto, this is not an opponent you can deal with."
Logan pulled out a kunai. As the teaching assistant of Team 7, even though he knew there wouldn't be any real danger ahead, he couldn't just stand idly by.
"Kakashi, wait a minute, let's..." Logan said, thinking that if the two of them join forces, Zabuza will not be able to do anything. However, before Logan could finish speaking, Kakashi, in his typical brash manner, raised a hand and stepped forward to face Zabuza directly, displaying a 'I've got this' attitude.
"I'll handle the enemy this time." Kakashi said calmly, "After all, I have been an ANBU, so I still have that much confidence. And don't forget, I am the leader of Team 7. You, as the teaching assistant, should just watch for now."
"To prevent any unexpected events." Finally, Kakashi said softly in a voice that only two people could hear.
'It seemed that Kakashi's strange competitive and responsible nature had kicked in.' Logan had no choice but to take a step back and nod.
However, he couldn't help but think about the times Kakashi wasn't this cool when dealing with trivial tasks. Couldn't he say something like, 'I'm the leader of Team 7, so leave the menial tasks to me and the students.' during those times?
Well, combat was indeed more dangerous, and Kakashi was fully aware of his responsibilities as a teacher.
"One person against me?" Zabuza, on the other end, was unhappy. What happened to their mutual compliments? What did this mean?
"Heh, heh, heh, 'Copy Ninja' Kakashi. Are you sure you can handle me alone?" Zabuza laughed creepily, exuding a dangerous aura.
"Or should I say, handle us?"
Logan's grip on his kunai tightened, as another voice came out.
"Isn't this good? Let's see if his Sharingan is really as powerful as the rumors say." Kakashi's right eye narrowed as two more figures appeared on the tree trunk behind Zabuza, silhouetted against the shafts of sunlight breaking through the canopy.
"The Seven Ninja Swordsmen?" The three people each held a weapon in their hands. Once the iconic swords were displayed, they were easily recognizable. Kakashi lowered his stance and readied his Chakra, becoming fully prepared for battle, "But it seems that they are not in the same generations..."
Logan squinted, looking at the new enemies who had joined Zabuza. He didn't expect two more members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to appear, 'Sure enough, there was a change, but there's actually two Elite Jonin-level opponents appearing at once.'
'Kubikiribocho, Nuibari, and Shibuki.' Kakashi didn't hold back anymore and pulled up his forehead protector, revealing the Sharingan he usually kept covered to save Chakra.
'Kubikiribocho Momochi Zabuza, Nuibari Kuriarare Kushimaru, Shibuki Munashi Jinpachi, three of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen actually gathered together, it's really surprising.'
The three black tomoe spun in his blood-red eye, coldly observing the three enemies. He knew his students and their client were in danger, but now was not the time to show fear or retreat, "You heinous criminals haven't been taken out by Kirigakure's assassination unit yet?"
Three cold snorts sounded, and then, Jinpachi, who was carrying Shibuki, tilted his head mockingly, " Heh, big talk. Let's see if you're still so cocky when your head explode."
Now, the situation is suddenly reversed. Ignoring the three Genin for the moment, theoretically, Team 7 was originally two Jonin fighting against one Zabuza, but now, the opponent has more fighting force, which are two of the Seven Ninja Swordsman.
Tazuna's face had gone dark at this time. He wondered what was going on? Why did so many dangerous people want him dead? Couldn't they just let him build his bridge in peace?
"Well, Kakashi, are you still sure you can defeat these powerful enemies alone?" Logan squinted his eyes at the big deviation of the original work, but also thought of joking to lighten the atmosphere, "These opponents are not your average Jonin."
After hearing this, Kakashi, without turning his head, shook it subtly with a practiced nonchalance, and replied in his usual calm tone, "Hattori, this is the time to show the value of a teaching assistant. It looks like you and I will have to fight side by side."
Logan internally chuckled at Kakashi's ability to switch from trash-talking the enemy to coordinating with him seamlessly. Then, he turned his attention to the adversaries in front of them. Logan wasn't too familiar with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, knowing them by sight but not in detail. After all, there are too many experts in the Ninja World, and compared to the infamous Akatsuki, these swordsmen didn't leave as strong an impression on him.
If he were to face the three enemies alone, Logan wouldn't be too worried. After all, he can fight or retreat flexibly. However, with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, who weren't much help in this scenario, it became more complicated.
In short, he needed to separate the battlefield first to avoid unnecessary trouble.
"Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura! Protect Tazuna-san!" Logan ordered, "Kakashi and I will deal with these three people."
After saying that, Logan immediately charged forward, maneuvering to get within the circle of Zabuza and his two allies.
'Why does he keep saying what I want to say...' Kakashi was speechless, but when he saw Logan taking the initiative in starting the fight, he immediately left followed suit in order to prevent the other party from falling into a one-on-three situation.
"We're three people, so it's hard to divide properly." The slender Kushimaru shook his Nuibari and said with troubled tone.
"Kakashi is mine. He dared to say he'd take me on alone. Hmm, you can do whatever you want with the other one." Zabuza picked up the Kubikiribocho and rushed towards Kakashi.
"This junior Zabuza... Tch, what should we do, Jinpachi?" Kushimaru shrugged. It stands to reason that it would be easier for the three of them to work together to face the two Konoha's Jonin.
Unfortunately, they were only temporarily united. Although they accepted the same commission and have the same employer, their unity was superficial, and internally, they each did their own thing. Kushimaru and Jinpachi were partners, while Zabuza paired with a strange masked kid. Naturally, it became a case of everyone fighting on their own.
"Forget it, I'll handle that so-called 'Aurora' Raiden Hattori. You can go and kill those Konoha brats hiding behind and complete the commission." Jinpachi said, hefting his Shibuki as he moved toward Logan.
"Okay." Kushimaru agreed to the proposal. He looked at Zabuza, who had already fought with Kakashi, and shook his head. He noted that the junior who inherited the Kubikiribocho from their former teammate, Biwa Juzo, didn't seem interested in making friends with them.
The original Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had long been fragmented and disappeared into the annals of Ninja World's history. He and Jinpachi had survived through sheer luck.
Kushimaru had barely made a few steps around when a loud 'bang' echoed, followed by a grunt as Jinpachi was sent flying past him.
"Hey, you with the long limbs, your name is too hard to remember. Yeah, you. I want to fight both of you."
Kushimaru turned around in surprise, and the Konoha's Jonin, who had an age he envied, gesturing at him.
"You and he are called the 'Heartless Pair'? Although I don't know why you are here..." Logan said, dispersing the residual electricity in his hand, "But I'll take you both on together."
