Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 - How to Magic: Dummies Edition

It was the next day and I let out a loud yawn before stretching my limbs. I yelp as I almost fall forward, but I manage to caught myself and saw my claws.

Oh, right.....it wasn't a dream.....

I look around and saw the cub sleeping on the other side of the cave. I can feel a hint of guilt resurface from within me as I sigh. I walk out of the cave and went to hunt again.

To my absolute shock, my luck somehow skyrocketed and I saw a herd of deers near my cave.

Immobilize their limbs, earth!

Chunks of earths immediately rose from the ground and smashed their limbs into pieces. I really need to learn how to control my magic output or else everyone will end up as a bloody paste...

I saw those deers squirms like worms while wailing in despair. I take a deep breath and control myself before looking back at the deers.

Slice down my enemies, wind!

A powerful blade of wind appears and immediately cuts down the deers' heads. But I underestimate my power output as it literally crash into the ground behind them and hits the ground, creating a loud explosion.

.....yeah, my first lesson will be control....

"W-what's going on!?" I winced before turning around to see the lil cub runs out of the cave in panic. He then saw me and stare in disbelief.

".....uh, breakfast?" I sheepishly said before suddenly, I heard a crash. I turn around and and saw the tree nearby fall into the ground. Yeah, control....

Can I even do it?

With how much power I use unintentionally, I can't help but think that one simple question. Will I be able to do it? Control my magic without any accident?

This is going to be a long day....

----------------------------------------------------------

I silently eat the deer while mentally grimacing the fact that I found a raw meat delicious. I don't know if it's because of my taste buds or my instinct, but both options didn't help to ease my mind.

I look at the tiger cub who already finish his and lying down on the pile of grass in satisfaction. I sigh before smiling sadly at him. He deserves more than just a stupid kid who has no idea how to deal with his current dilemma.

I blinked when I saw something comes out of the cub's body, it's like a white smoke, but my nose didn't smell any smoke. What is that? Mana? I guess only one way to find out....

"Hey," I called the cub out, gaining his attention. "I want you to try something."

"What is it?" The cub asked with a curious tone. I don't get why he didn't show any resentment, or I was just bad at seeing through their masks.

"I want you to visualize the breeze of the air, point your paw forward, commands the wind to take a shape of sharp blades and launch it." I said as the cub looks at me in disbelief.

"...what kind of magic are you trying to teach me?" The cub asked as I sigh.

"Humor me." I said, only to made the cub looks confused. "I mean, just try it."

"Um..." The cub was a bit hesitant and I simply just let go of it. I forgot that I shouldn't force the cub to do what I want, since I don't even have the rights to do so....

*Whoosh!!*

I blinkef when a powerful blade made of wind just launched forwards and I look back to see the cub stares at his paws in disbelief. I can't help but grinned happily for him. That trail of smoke really is mana!

"H-how!?" I look at the cub who looks im disbelief. "Magic requires vocal incancation, and there are tons of steps required, like how much mana required to releases, what shape you want, and so much more! Not to mention, how did I able to access mana!? My father has them but never able to access it!"

So, to them, magic isn't something that can be learn by everyone, requires vocal incantation just to cast a spell and that's only step one, and you need to learn how to access mana before you can learn magic.

And somehow, I just skip all those shits and cast it like a superpower instead of a complex power system. Is this a trait of being a dragon or a trait being an isekai'd person?

Okay, toss away that thoughts. The little cub just cast a wind blade, so it's available for anyone. Okay, let's see.....

"Oh, flame, heed my command!" As I said this, a magic circle appears in front of me. "Burn everything to ashes, leave no evil -!" I halt myself from cringing at my 'incantation' and I'm glad that my scales cover my skin to hid my blush.

J-just, cancel!

And just like that, red electricity emits out of the magic circle and cracked. I blink at the scene before looking at my paws. D-did I just create a magic that dispells magic!? Or is it just my terrible attempt of 'incantation' that the spells broke?

At least, now thanks to the cub, I got a gist of how magic actually works in this world.

"How? How? How? How?" I can't help but sweatdrop at the cub, but his attitude is understandable. I mean, if there's something I know turns out to be a lie, I'll act that way.

"Hey..." I awkwardly try to call him, and it works as he immediately snaps out of it before staring at me.

"...how did I do that? How did you do that!?" I could only watch the little cub asked in disbelief. I'm really not sure how to explain it. "Wait...maybe I simply think it wrong! I guess, that explains why Platinum Dragon Lord are the superior creature amongst every creature in the world!"

Okay, this level of misunderstanding is getting out of hand.

"It's not that you're think it wrong, little cub. You believe how magic works for everyone, so you never consider another way to use it." I said as the cub stare at me before nodding.

"I guess that make sense. No one will consider to think other ways because they already have one way, they believe finding another way will only complicate things." I can't help but surprised at how mature the cub actually is.

"Correct. But, sometimes, finding another way will help you a lot. I mean, if you find a way to overcome something complicated with a simpler way, you will definitely prefer the simpler way." I said as the cub nod.

"I see. Thank you for the wisdom." It's not much of a wisdom. You're the one who figure out most of the things.

"No need to thank you." I said as the cub curtly nod. "...so, wanna learn more about magic?"

He didn't smile, but his wagging tail says it all.
