Slap ...
As Jack opened fire, the soldiers in the rear pulled the trigger.
Intense gunfire erupted.
Red laser beams burst out of the dark freight elevator, sweeping across the mutant soldiers outside.
Thumbs up ...
The mutant soldiers didn't react at all.
Before they could make a move, the red laser beam had pierced their bodies.
The mutant soldiers in the doorway were hit and fell to the ground.
1st Battalion, 4th Company, follow me!
2nd Battalion, 3rd Company, charge!
Several captain company commanders gave the order to attack in silence.
The soldiers in the freight elevator rushed outside after their company commander.
All take off their helmets, and anyone with a helmet on is a mutant!
Clean up the Starport. We've got to purge the enemy once and for all!
The rebel soldiers' equipment was identical to that found on the Planetary Defense Force soldiers.
It's impossible to tell a friend from a foe in a melee.
The soldiers rushing out of the freight elevator removed their helmets and threw them to the ground.
For a moment, the sound of helmets rolling to the ground overpowered the sound of hurried footsteps.
At this point, Brian still hadn't come around.
Jack came to Brian and pressed the laser rifle in his hand into his arms.
He was infected and under the control of the gene stealers, as were the soldiers outside.
Subconsciously catching the laser rifle, Brian reacted.
Krystal. Is Lord Darwin a mutant?
If you don't believe me, you can look at his brain; it should be harboring some eggs.
Brian looked toward the bodies outside the gate.
He rushed forward, leaving the freight elevator and coming to the body.
He crouched down next to the body to check out the head that was already half broken.
As expected, in a pile of rotting flesh, Brian saw some white worm eggs.
Some of the eggs are still alive and wriggling.
It was at this time that Brian realized why the rail elevator had suddenly lost power.
The mutants have taken control of the Starport, and they certainly don't want them anywhere near it.
Fight. We have to take control of the Starport!
Rising to his feet, the look on Brian's face became serious.
Without looking back, he charged into the Starport after the soldiers, laser rifle in hand.
For a moment, intense gunfire rang out in the Starport.
Looking out toward Star Harbor from the outside.
The Starport was dark in color as if an ancient fortress was suspended in orbit around the planet Kroa.
It is connected under its base by a railroad elevator.
The diameter of the orbital elevator, though as high as one kilometer, was tiny against the Starport.
The capture of the Starport went very well.
Surprisingly, there are surprisingly few mutants in Starport.
In less than three hours, the sound of gunfire in the Starport died down.
Starport, tower, main control room.
[The last hope of completing the mission, +200,000 contribution points]
Just as he arrived at the main door of the main control room, the system's prompt floated past his eyes.
It made Jack look slightly puzzled.
He knew that the battle in the Starport was over.
On the way in, Jack had expected him to join the fight.
After all, Bryan didn't have many troops under his banner, just over 1,300.
But along the way, he'd only heard good news from the comms.
It's all about which tier and district was recaptured, blah blah blah.
Lord Jack, you've come at last!
As soon as he entered the main control room, Brian rushed to greet him.
The main control room was a wider area, similar to the bridge of a battleship.
There are windows with various equipment in front of them.
Seeing the look of dismay on Brian's face, Jack knew that something bad should have happened.
But what happened?
Brian had a serious face as he nodded his head and said, According to the monitoring records of the Starport, not long ago, three merchant ships carrying a large number of civilians and rebels left the planet Kroa, and if they were allowed to arrive at other worlds (planets), the worlds they were on would definitely be infected.
All Imperial fleets are under the jurisdiction of Holy Terra, and that includes the Merchant Fleet.
The Merchant Marine Fleet is one of the three major fleets under the Empire, primarily engaged in interstellar trade.
The Merchant Fleet is one of the oldest organizations in the Terra Empire.
The original merchant fleet was formed as part of humanity's expansion into the galaxy.
Unlike most imperial organizations that are constantly trying to control human territory, the Merchant Marine is only engaged in trade and is, therefore, extremely wealthy.
The United Merchant Fleet accounts for almost 90% of all starships in the Empire.
There is a fleet of merchant ships stationed in each of the Empire's five starfields.
Its managers are on duty at the Starfield Fortress, the administrative center of the Starfield.
These fleet bases are equipped with large harbors with docks, shipyards, and repair facilities.
Their main function is to manage the fleet operating in their area.
While the Merchant Marine is only engaged in interstellar trade, they are obligated to fulfill more rights and responsibilities when Imperial worlds are in peril.
Evacuating civilians at the request of the planetary governor is par for the course.
Jack finally realized why he had been able to seize control of Starport so easily.
It turns out that most of the mutants in the Starport left with the merchant ships.
Is the Star Whisperer still around? Jack asked.
If there is a Star Whisperer, it can alert the Star District government.
Brian shook his head.
Then there's nothing we can do. There's nothing we can do.
The Empire relies on the Star Whisperer for long-distance communication.
Star Whisperers are a rare class of individuals, psychics whose powers and their unique nature are touched by the light of the Divine Emperor.
It is able to utilize subspace to build information channels of exchange and communication in the boundless universe.
Because subspace is so dangerous, the tough souls of psychics also have to fight off subspace contamination.
Within the Empire's territories, uncountable psychics are born every hour.
Most of them will be found and killed.
This is because psychics are dangerous and can be easily lured and corrupted by demons in subspace, thus becoming a springboard for demons to invade the material universe.
Unless one waits until the dreaded Black Ship of the Hall of Star Language collects them.
The Black Ship is part of the Office of the Star Language, an official department of the Empire.
These ships would circumnavigate the galaxy, and at each world, they would stop to receive tributes of psychics from the world they were on.
Immature psychics are brutally stuffed into black ships.
The fate of most psychics is to be used as fuel to fill a star torch that can never be filled.
Their sacrifices were valuable, allowing the Empire's map to hold together for the next day.
For those psychics who are allowed to live, they go through the harshest screening and training.
In the future, some of them will become navigators, some will be Star Whisperers, some will become Imperial Inquisitors, and some will become Combat Psychics.
In order to fulfill communication across star fields and star zones, the Empire has a large demand for Star Whisperers.
Star Whisperers can be found on almost every starship and planet in the Empire.
