Chereads / My Road to Rise / Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

After leaving the command room, it was no more than a hundred meters down a long corridor.

In front of a room door, Wakaya stopped.

She gripped the handle with her right hand and pushed the door open.

Jack followed.

The space inside wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either.

The furnishings give it a vintage feel.

There was nothing sci-fi about the metal walls, only a cold heaviness.

There is a hall with a desk in front of a window seat.

The table was covered with books, stacked in layers.

Dark, starry skies are visible outside the clear glass windows.

In front of the desk, on the other hand, there are two sofas and a low coffee table.

My lord, the bathroom is this way. Take a bath before you change.

Wakaya pushed open the door to the bathroom room.

She didn't go in; she just moved out of the doorway.

I'll go and get you something to wear inside. I'll be there in a minute!

Being waited on by an NPC with such care and attention, Jack was a little less than accustomed to.

It's a good thing it's a woman; how uncomfortable it would be if it were a man.

Jack came to the bathroom door and looked in.

At this look, a titter ran through Jack's mind.

The previous owners of this room were really good at enjoying themselves.

The bathroom is almost as big as the hall outside.

There was a large bath with steaming water swirling in it.

I also wonder what it's like to take a shower in a game ...

With a hint of curiosity, Jack entered the bathroom.

Coming to the shore, Jack grinned.

He quickly took off his shirt and then his pants and threw them on the floor.

Then, a flying lunge into the water in a beautiful pose.

Puff!

There was only a splash and a splash, and Jack dove into the water.

Outside, Wakaya silently closed the door to her room.

It took a while of diving in the water before Jack broke the surface and approached the shore.

Cool ...

The bath is not shallow, about 1.5 meters deep.

If you don't know how to use water, you won't have any problem drowning shorter people.

With his back against the shore, Jack stretched.

The game is pretty much true to life in Vast Starry Night.

The shower feels almost as real as reality.

And I don't know if I can do that kind of thing.

For some reason, Jack suddenly remembered Wakaya.

I don't think so ...

Glancing down at the water, Jack smiled sardonically.

He remembered that in the game, the player was in a state of mental castration.

Although he had a bit of an idea in his head, his body didn't react.

Besides, he didn't know Wakaya well, so how could he think of doing that kind of thing with her?

Sure enough, once you get to the game, the heart loses its restraint.

What you wouldn't dare to do in reality won't be a concern in the game.

However, it is said that the mental castration restriction is lifted only at a certain level.

Shaking his head, Jack cast away the random thoughts in his head.

He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to stay idle for a long time, but he didn't have the time to think about such nonsense.

About ten minutes later, Wakaya returned.

Click ...

Just a click, and the door to the room was pushed open.

Wakaya walked in, holding a stack of yukata.

After hanging her yukata on a hanger to the side, she stripped off the military coat she was wearing.

Wakaya, what are you doing?

Seeing Ruoya suddenly take off his clothes, Jack had some panic in his heart.

He's just taking a shower. Why is Wakaya taking off her clothes?

Did Wakaya want to wash with him?

At the thought, Jack's old face flushed.

My lord, this is the duty of an attendant, and if you are not satisfied with me, I can arrange for other female soldiers to become your attendants.

Wakaya's voice seemed a little cold.

At that, Jack wanted to speak.

All right, how about Ruoya is someone we know.

Anymore, Wakaya is better than a female soldier you don't know.

Forcing himself not to look at Wakaya, who was undressing, Jack asked, Did Brian and the others send you?

Behind her, Wakaya's emotionless voice rang out.

Captain Bryan's company offered to select an attendant for His Lordship from among the women, and it was I who volunteered to take the position of attendant.

Volunteer?

So Ruya volunteered to be his attendant?

Why? Is there a reason? Jack asked.

Attendants were not slaves but were similar to maids of honor.

But the two are not superior or inferior.

Attendance is more like devotion, self-giving, and a more intimate following.

In the Empire, only some of the Faithful would have attendants following them around.

For example, the living guides of the Empire.

The movement of undressing behind him disappeared, followed by the sound of light footsteps.

Jack subconsciously looked backward and saw Wakaya, who had come to the shore.

She stepped into the bath with her bare, snow-white torso and her right foot.

Follow the steps in the water down one step at a time.

It was a shock to Jack, who had never seen a woman's petite body before.

For a moment, Jack's mind was in a trance.

Wakaya didn't mind at all when faced with the ogling of the adults' eyes.

She trickled over to the adults and sat down on the steps in the water.

Gazing straight at the adult beside her, Ruoya said without changing her color: From the moment I saw you, I knew that your future achievements would definitely be extraordinary and that you wouldn't be trapped in the Croatoan star, and I just grasped the opportunity.

Seize the opportunity?

Jack more or less realized the meaning of Wakaya's words.

Curious, he glanced at Wakaya's face, and Jack muttered in his mind.

Is this still an NPC? Too much emotion and stuff.

Is it possible that what Wakaya said was also set in stone?

Jack winced at the thought.

The seemingly beautiful Wakaya may have been designed by a stingy man behind the scenes.

Phew ...

Taking a deep breath, Jack poked his hand out of the water and rested it on the edge of the pool.

For now, it's better to enjoy the soak.

Everything else is put aside for now.

My lord, when I came back just now, Company Commander Bryan was looking for you.

Jack, who had closed his eyes in a false sleep, opened them slightly and looked at Wakaya beside him.

What do you want from me?

Shaking her head, Wakaya reached out of the water and rested her hands lightly on Jack's chest.

This caused Jack to frown slightly, but Wakaya didn't stop.

On Jack's chest, Wakaya's two hands caressed lightly.

Jack knew that Wakaya didn't mean anything else by this gesture; it was just a simple rubbing.

It's not a big deal; some alphas are said to have shown up. They came up in an elevator, and there were quite a few of them, hundreds of them.

Alpha?

At that, Jack's eyes lit up.

Could it be a player?

It must be right; it must be a new player who just came online to the game.

The online game Vast Star has a setting where players don't appear to NPCs when they are online.

If there's an NPC where you're offline, come online, and you'll appear in no man's land.

Players also can't take items out of subspace from the eyes of NPCs.

As for the reason, it's probably because players coming online out of thin air with subspace is something that makes it impossible for NPCs to understand.

But NPCs are just NPCs, so what's the point of doing that?

It's impossible for that many players to fight their way up from all the nests below.

Taking the elevator into the Starport is a very logical way to be born.

Skimming slightly, Jack muttered in his mind.

That's too much of a rascal.

He worked so hard to take down the Starport with the planetary defense force, only to become a newbie village for players.

So what did Brian want to see me about?

Wakaya replied: those alphas were too rowdy, pestering the soldiers, demanding some kind of mission, and wandering around the Starport. Company Commander Bryan ordered them to be blocked off in the lower level of the depot, and Company Commander Bryan was supposedly trying to seek your lordship's advice on what to do with them.
