As the sun reached just over the horizon, everything was in full swing. Everyone had gathered and was eating breakfast in the great hall. Polaris and Atrocity were outside getting their military into full dress and ready for the parade.
Once the parade began, nations and their troops marched into town. Citizens and bystanders cheered and waved in the oncoming militaries and leaders. As the Republic made their way down the streets, the Knights made up the front, carrying banners of the Republic and Fort Wilderness. Following them was Polaris and his Order of the Wilderness Remnants, all decked out in their battle-dress. Polaris was in his brown-leather battlecoat, the white fur lining the collar waved in the wind.
Now each year, one nation always got the most love and praise. The autocratic nation known as the Armed-Nation of Drakeneye. They were incredibly strong Dragonewts, and they always brought large and massive dragons along with them, and this year was no exception. However, it was the Republic of Wildereplains that caught everyone's eye this year. Sure, dragons were exciting, but marching behind and around King Fog, was the entire Battle-Tower Guardian Legion. Most of the Guardians were in passive form, two arms, two legs, and a dulled eye. However, as they approached the crowds, a metallic shrill was heard and the Guardians went into combat mode. The mass majority of Guardians had five arms; two splitting from their already existing arms and a single one coming from their back. However, Gardos, Elder Prime, Scarecrow, Surveillance and Cerberus with a handful of others were different. Elder Prime had four arms, Scarecrow had three, Cerberus with eight arms and four legs, Surveillance, with fourarms and snake-like tendrils with lenses so she could see a full 360 degrees around her. Then there was Gardos, had two arms. However, unlike the other Guardians, his combat-mode eye wasn't red, it was purple.
Their rhythmic foot falls had the citizens and bystanders in loud cheers. Children when given flowers and candy as they passed by. King of the Republic, Fog Carne, waved as they passed by. Once they'd reached the House of the Chamber of Multi-National Committee, the leaders and their delegates entered the building. Inside, the chamber was laid out in circular fashion, each nation and delegate had name placards on their spots. All the Delegates sat and had their translators step up.
While the most common language was known as Ralzic, The Republic spoke what was now considered a dead language, known to everyone else as Norman. Surveillance was translating for King Carne, Polaris, and their attendants, White Phosphorus and Archimedes. The current topic was the attack by the Republic of Wildereplains. The Western Holy Kingdom claimed they didn't attack, rather this was an unprovoked attack by the Republic. As the meeting dragged on, it was becoming apparent that the Delegates of the Holy Kingdom, were unhappy with the inaction taken by their allies and the fact no other nation had openly criticized the Republic of Wildereplains.
".... And frankly, I am appalled by the lack of spine in this room. The Republic should be forced to pay us reparations or be disbanded completely." The rooms gaze fell upon King Carne who nodded to Polaris to speak.
"You would demand that we pay reparations? Please, you have no military. Your 290,000 troops were overwhelmed by our meager 10,000. Each and everyone in this room has armies that dwarf our numbers, and yet, a force of 290,000 was crushed by our force of 10,000. Think about that, the Western Holy Kingdom had us outnumbered by 280,000 troops and lost. Don't get it twisted, The Republic of Wildereplains will not be surrender."
The room filled with murmurs as the Drakeneye's Delegate spoke.
"Tell me something, if you truly defeated the Western Holy Kingdom as you say, why haven't you finished them off?"
Polaris looked to Dragonewt, eyes a burning glow. "That's extremely simple. We have concrete information that people at this summit are their allies. The Republic of Wildereplains will not be striking in retaliation, rather we'll let the Western Holy Kingdom make fools of themselves."
The room burst into chaos. The delegate of the Western Holy Kingdom was shouting and yelling at Polaris. Polaris returned the shouts and yell with stone cold silence.
"Do you have any idea what we can do to your pathetic nation!? If you find this amusing, I wonder how your pathetic nation will endure our attack a second ti....." The Western Holy Kingdom's delegate stopped cold. He's now just given the entire Council the information he was supposed to withhold.... The Western Holy Kingdom had indeed attacked first. Polaris raised his right hand and made a finger gun. Flicking his thumb down, the delegate shook in fear as he spoke.
"Now that..... is what I can Checkmate."
The Delegation was in an uproar. The Western Holy Kingdom had broken a big rule; Recognized nations are forbidden from attacking unrecognized nations. The Armed-Nations of Drakeneye's delegate offered up a solution.
"Calm down there is a simple solution. Polaris of Wildereplains, read sections 28A-C."
"Should a recognized nation commit acts of war against an unrecognized nation, that nation will do as follows: Secede portions for territory to attacked nations. Pay the attacked nations war debt in full. Finally, have the various other Council Nations cut trade and relations with them."
The room murmured as the Western Holy Kingdom's delegate yelled and tried to get the room to see reason, but the delegation set the punishment to a motion. As the votes were taken, even the allies of the Western Holy Kingdom had no choice but to cut ties with them if they wanted to remain inconspicuous to the other nations. At the end of the day, seven nations voted against the punishment motion, while the majority voted in favor of the motion. With the slam of a gavel, the motion passed.
"Delegate of the Western Holy Kingdom, my attendant is coming around to deliver paperwork. With in them, is contained our debt, and a proposal a section of land you are now required to secede." Said King Carne as Archimedes made his to the Delegate. After being handed the papers, the delegate scoffed.
"You want that land?"
"That and the parcels directly beside it on all sides."
The delegate scoffed smiling as he signed over the land. What he didn't realize was that the parcel they had chosen, just so happened to butt up against the Holy Kingdom's capital.
The meeting went late into the night. Once the delegation finally had enough, they returned to the mansion. Polaris was the last to head over to the mansion. As he walked, a loud whistling could be heard. As he looked up, a being fell from the sky into the river running behind the mansion. Polaris rushed into the river to retrieve the being. Once he'd dragged the being to the shoreline, he rolled them over and stepped back.
"This is.... A Demon Lord..."
