Three weeks had passed since Archimedes and Princess Arwen had left for their honey. It had also been two weeks passed since the Walled Rings of Wilderness had risen from the ground and their capitol had taken full form. The Wilderness Territorial Dominion had been formally recognized by the many other nations, all except for the Holy Kingdom, led by the Church of Humanity and the Pope.
The Wilderness Territorial Dominion or WTD, had an army under the direct command of Generals Veldspar and Hexxit, acting under the supervision of the Territorial Head of State, Fog Carne. While their army was only around ten thousand strong, they had the best weapons, gear and equipment, surpassing even the Armed Nation of Silurian. The ANS had an army five-hundred thousand strong and even with their numbers, Wilderness was a formidable match. As Archimedes and the Princess arrived in the capitol city, it was clear they'd missed a lot.
"Fog? What happened here?"
"Polaris made me Territorial Head of State, and well, we got to work building the greatest empire this world has ever seen."
"I can see that...."
"Also Archimedes, you have been the first nobleman of the Wilderness Territorial Dominion. Your new home and laboratory are within the second ring. I must get going otherwise I'd....."
Fog stopped mid-sentence as white flakes began to rain down from the skies over Wilderness.
"No... No it can't be... So soon..."
"What?"
"Here comes the attack by the Holy Kingdom we talked about before we left. Guards Escort Lady Arwen to her home! Archimedes, we need those magi-gens running now!"
"Right... Follow me!"
As the two ran, they found themselves in the city's center. The main control system had been installed with the placard of the "86 Wilderness Heroes Memorial." After opening the placard, Archimedes powers up the magi-gens, creating a protective barrier around the entire capitol. As the barrier sealed, legions of angels appeared around the barrier. The Holy Kingdom's army launched fireballs at the capitol, but the barrier was stopping them.
"Good work Archimedes. I have to get to the State office and address the people. You, run to the Fort, inform Polaris, C.W and Atrocity they're needed."
"On it! Good luck!"
As Archimedes rushed up to the Fort, Polaris, Captain Winters (C.W), and Atrocity were gearing up.
"Hey, Fog says...."
"We already know, we felt the change in aura." Said Captain Winters.
"Do you still have those boxer-glider wings we created Archimedes?" Asked Polaris.
"Yes, according to the guards, they were moved into the arsenal here."
"Good, Cap, Atrocity, put them on. We have Angels to fight."
With their wings on, the three rocketed into the sky, surveying their city. "Polaris, there are people still out and about. If the barrier falls...."
"It'll be a massacure. Head for the State House! That's an order!" yelled Polaris diving towards it. Fog, seeing them coming, ran outside.
"Fog, there are still people outside! Why aren't they inside?"
"Someone fired the Rednet!"
"That's.... that's not possible."
"All systems are non-responsive! No power, nothing!"
"Fuck... Use the Gem-Cast. Put a rush on it."
"Yes sir."
As the three lifted back into the sky, Fog activated the gem-cast system. "This thing on? Yes? Alright. Citizens of the Wilderness Territorial Dominion, specifically but not limited to Initiative City, we are calling upon the volunteer army and ordering citizens to seek shelter immediately! The Holy Kingdom has amassed forces above and around our city! SEEK SHELTER NOW!"
Citizens rushed into their homes and took cover. The Volunteer Army of Initiative City rallied and made their way to the outer wall. The WTD Army had already staged themselves under direction from General Hexxit of the Army, while General Veldspar of the Navy was leading his five-thousand men out to sea to stop any incoming vessels. The other Wilderness Heroes were on the outer wall line, awaiting the barrier to be lifted.
"Powerdrive, do you think...."
"Fret not, we shall overcome this trial! Harden your resolve and Steel those nerves. Have faith in equipment and tools we have been given."
As Archimedes shut off the first barrier, Holy Knights and Angels exploded through the outer gates of Initiative City.
"KILL EVERY LAST DEGENERATE LIVING WITHIN THIS CITY!" Ordered Angelic Head Knight Salore.
"DEFEND YOUR CITY!!! FOR WILDERNESS!!!!!" Ordered Hexxit
"FOR WILDERNESS!" Shouted the WTD Army as they counterattacked. The sounds of battle cries, steel stattering steel and bodies hitting the ground filled the streets of Initiative City. Polaris hovered above the battle along with Atrocity and Captain Winters.
"Atrocity...."
"What's up Polaris?"
"Hunt down their Commander. Leave none alive who can form strategies."
"I was thinking you'd never ask." Grinned Atrocity as he vanished from sight.
"Are you sure sending him is the right decision?"
Polaris turned to face Captain Winters. "These so called "Holy Knights" came here to kill all of us, no prisoners, no mercy. You say what they were going to do to that Harpy we brought back. Can you say they deserve to live?"
"No, not after that... They truly are cowards for what they tried to do."
Meanwhile, Atrocity had landed, the glider wings had folded in as he was ready for combat. He hid his aura and maksed his presence. Hexxit had given him a small fairy record so he could intimidate them. He set up each magic device all around their camp. Inside the Archbishop was looking over battle plans, when a low sound startled everyone in the tent.
"Just what the hell is that?"
"I'm not sure Archbishop."
"Go find out!"
One by one, soldiers, then junior knights, then knights and priests vanished without a trace. The Archbishop hadn't noticed when he'd sent his last man to investigate. Some time passed before he noticed the air was eerily still, as if there wasn't a living soul within the forest. He could no longer hear the fighting within Initiative City either. Worried something was wrong, he mustered up his courage and reached for the tent flap.
"Hello?" Called out the Archbishop, stepping out of his tent. The wasn't even a breath of the trees. The whole area seemed to be dead, void of all sound. Suddenly, the noise began to pick up again, this time more coherent. It was singing, more specifically... now humming? Thought the Archbishop as he backed towards his tent. As he turned to get his tent flap, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a white bear, standing on it's hind legs.
"WHAT THE....."
As the Archbishop turned to face the bear, it had seemingly vanished. The Archbishop shook his head and entered the tent again, forgetting to look for his other troops. As the sun began to set, the Archbishop stormed out of his tent and into the woods, yelling for his troops to answer him, demanding they return at once. As dusk took hold of the region, he'd ventured out too far from his encampment. Suddenly the humming had returned, this time coming from the camp. He stormed back, shouting and yell, but upon reaching the camp, his eyes filled with horror as the device had been playing the Wilderness Battle Hymn. Sitting atop a mound of dead holy soldiers, priests and knights, was Atrocity, cleaning the blood off his mouth.
"W-Who a-are....."
"Who am I? Well Archbishop..." Started Atrocity with a smile, revealing his polar bear teeth, all dripping with blood. "I am the Polar Bear of Wilderness, the world champion of carnage and bloodshed.... ATROCITY WINTERS, and I am here to ensure you.... ALL.... DIE!"
Back with the Holy Kingdom's forces, they had be pushed back from the city. As they entered the dark woods, a bloodcurdling, anxiety inducing, pure terror scream filled the still air. The Holy Knights shook in their armor, the Priests hit the ground frozen in fear as they raised their lanterns to find the entrails of the Archbishop and everyone who'd stayed behind crucified to the long-thorn trees that encircled the borders of the city. Many young soldiers vomited, even some of the veteran knights did as well seeing such a grotesque display of Atrocity's work.
