Chapter 34 - First Date?

It was just two days to Westwood prom, Nancy lay alone in her room, doing more research on New York University while Lana del Ray was playing in her headphones.

After she was satisfied with her research, she closed her laptop and grabbed her phone.

The message she had gotten from Jada made her smile as she clicked on it and responded back to the girl.

As if he was waiting for her to be online, his message immediately popped up in her chats.

Nancy's eyes widened on seeing his texts, she sat up and crossed her legs while staring at his name on her phone.

"Can I call you?".

She stared at his message, feeling reluctant to click on it, Nancy bit her nails nervously and tugged her earlobe with the other hand.

Nancy remembered what Tara had said and how it would be so bad if she knew about her feelings for Nolan.

But, Nancy knew no matter how much she tried denying her feelings towards Nolan or how much she promised not to think about him. He would always find a way back into her mind.

"I should not click on his message… I should just ignore him and end this, so it doesn't go further… right?", she asked herself while staring down at his texts.

She pulled her brows together in a frown and nodded, "Yes I will not answer… he is my friend brother… girls code!", she whispered to herself.

"But…", Nancy's lips curled into a smile, "his voice… I want to hear it again", she added.

Nancy groaned out, she couldn't deny the truth, which was falling for her best friend's brother.

"I mean he is just two years younger, not like I am doing anything wrong…", she concluded and squinted her eyes at his message and exhaled deeply while directing her finger to his message.

She finally clicked on his message.

Nancy inhaled and exhaled sharply, she nodded in approval.

"Yes".

Immediately she hit sent, the girl noticed her messages were immediately read by him.

"Huh? He waited in my dms?", she said and chuckled softly. "What? He is so cute", she covered her mouth with her palm and chuckled louder.

Just two minutes after reading her message, Nolan dialed her number.

Her flashing eyes stared down at his name on her phone, she giggled excitedly and answered his call.

"I thought you would be busy, but here you are", Nolan said.

"Oh God! His voice! I miss it so much even though it is been just one day of not seeing or hearing him! It feels so good to hear his voice again… can we keep talking like this forever, let us not stop", Nancy fantasized while she remained quiet.

She realized he was also quiet, waiting for her response.

Nancy cleared her throat, "Yes.. yes! I was not busy, I am not busy either… I was just scrolling through my phone… Hii" " she said smiling through the phone.

Aunt Kat was walking past Nancy's room when she heard her niece's voice. She stopped and quietly leaned towards the girl's door.

"What is with this voice?…", Aunt Kat whispered while carefully trying to listen to her niece from behind the door, "that is not a normal voice she uses for her friends… is it a guy", she added and smiled to herself.

"You want to meet up?" Like right now?", Nancy exclaimed, she quickly looked at her door hoping her Aunt didn't hear her loud voice.

Nolan had decided to meet up with her, which meant picking her up from home in 30 minutes' time.

"I mean if that is okay with you", he asked.

"Yes… I mean, of course, I would send you my location", She answered quickly.

"Okay see you in thirty", Nolan said before ending the call.

Nancy gasped, "Why is he asking to meet up with me? This is going further, isn't it? Should I stop it? No no, I don't want to stop it, I love this feeling… oh God! What do I do, I have just a few minutes to look perfect so he thinks I look so beautiful tonight… where is he taking me? Where are we going?", she said, tugging her bottom lips nervously.

She sat down and grabbed her head, "What will Tara say? What will she do? What if she sees us".

Nancy shook her head slightly, "No! I am overthinking this. I would dress up and go out with him, it is just one outing… not like he is asking me on a date", she concluded and stood up.

After a few moments, Nancy was ready. She had gotten a text from Nolan saying he was almost at the location she texted him.

Her heart raced as she walked to her room mirror to take a last look.

She wore her cream Roomba on one shoulder too and had grabbed a jacket in case it got colder than it was, together with her blue long jeans.

Her hair was neatly packed up with an obvious cream hairpin at the side.

She put on her lipgloss and walked out of her room.

Nancy didn't see her Aunt in the living room so she walked out, hoping to come back soon before her Aunt noticed she was out.

She stepped out and saw his car flashlight approaching her, Nancy didn't realize when an uncontrollable smile appeared on her lips exposing her front teeth.

"Hey…", he said as she got in his car.

The immediate smell of her flower perfume was the first to catch his attention, he had also noticed how her outfit looked perfect on her slim sexy body and her glossy pretty lips smiling at him.

He nervously looked away and started his car.

"You look so pretty", he complimented.

"Thanks" " she answered and blushed the more.

Throughout the drive, Nolan noticed Nancy was quiet, looking out the window with a smile on her face. He stole a lot of glances at her as he kept driving.

He also felt happy she was comfortable enough to not ask where they were headed, and just enjoying the view outside of the car.

Nolan smiled to himself while driving, his stolen glances at her pretty skin, and her side face, also at her perfect body sitting pretty in his passenger seat, he had never felt happier.

After a while, he took a turn and they got to a lake surrounded by green grasses. Nancy looked at him and got out of the car, she smiled as she stared at the lake, and her eyes shifted to the mountain not too far from the lake.

"This is so pretty, Nolan", she turned to him.

He leaned against his car and nodded, "I know… it is my favorite place to come, I discovered it two years ago and I have been coming down here every now and then when I needed to escape from reality", he responded and shifted his gaze from the lake to Nancy's pretty eyes he could still perfectly see, thanks to the bright moon and stars.

Nancy chuckled and looked away, she looked up at the sky and saw the stars.

"I have never seen anything more beautiful", she whispered.

"I have", he softly said.

Nancy turned and looked at him.

He stared back and let out a soft smile.
