Chapter 78 - The Unexpected Savior

Aleric fought desperately against the onslaught of corrupted humans, each one hurling spells at him with malevolent intent. His electric magic arced through the air, deflecting some attacks while others grazed him, leaving searing marks on his skin. Amidst the chaos, the demon's attacks were relentless, its claws slashing through the air with terrifying speed.

Aleric managed to evade most of the demon's strikes, but in doing so, he left himself vulnerable to the spells of the corrupted humans. One spell grazed his shoulder, causing intense pain to shoot through his arm. Another struck his side, sending him staggering backwards. With each hit, his strength dwindled, and exhaustion threatened to overwhelm him.

Just as Aleric thought he couldn't hold on any longer, the demon lunged forward with a vicious slash. Aleric attempted to dodge, but the blow caught him across the chest, sending him hurtling through a nearby wall. He landed hard on the ground, pain radiating from every part of his body. He could feel bones cracking under the force of the impact, and darkness threatened to engulf him.

Through the haze of pain, Aleric heard the demon's mocking laughter. It taunted him, reveling in his defeat. Aleric struggled to stay conscious, his vision blurring as he fought against the urge to surrender to unconsciousness.

Then, just as all hope seemed lost, a figure burst into the fray. The muscular savior charged at the demon with fierce determination, their movements fluid and precise. With a powerful swing, they struck the demon, forcing it back momentarily. The demon snarled in rage, its attention now diverted from Aleric to this new threat.

Aleric lay on the ground, breathing heavily, willing himself to regain his strength. He watched as the savior and the demon engaged in a fierce battle, each blow shaking the sewer around them. Despite his injuries, Aleric knew he had to find a way to assist his rescuer. With a surge of determination, he pushed himself upright, ready to join the fight once more.
