Chapter 79 - Desería Threat

Aleric tried to get up, but as he did, he could hear the sound of bones cracking and felt a surge of pain. Each movement sent sharp jolts through his body, making it nearly impossible to stand. As the dust in the sewer began to settle, the figure of his savior became clearer—it was Damien.

In the distance, Evelina's frantic voice cut through the chaos. "Aleric, are you okay? Let's leave this to Damien!" She hurried to his side, helping him to his feet and supporting him as they made their way out of the sewer.

As they struggled to exit, the entire city began to hear disturbing noises echoing from below—sounds of walls collapsing, water rushing, and the occasional roar of the demon. The eerie atmosphere was thick with fear; citizens whispered anxiously, eyes wide with terror as they looked toward the source of the commotion.

Suddenly, a massive pillar within the sewer gave way, causing part of the street above to cave in and expose a gaping hole. Through the dust and debris, Damien could be seen, bloodied and battered, still locked in combat with the demon. The creature's rapid regeneration made it seem unstoppable, each wound closing almost as soon as it was inflicted.

"What a worthy fight, swordsman," the demon sneered, its voice carrying a dark, mocking tone. "But now that I am outside where there's more sand, it is your doom."

As the demon spoke, a sinister atmosphere enveloped the city. The sand around him began to swirl, drawn by some unseen force, forming a growing storm. The ground seemed to tremble with his words, and the air grew thick with an oppressive, malevolent energy.

Citizens watching from a distance gasped and recoiled in fear. Shadows loomed large against the buildings, and a sense of impending doom settled over Desiaría. The demon's power was palpable, a chilling reminder of the ancient forces at play, threatening to unleash chaos and destruction.

Evelina, with Aleric leaning heavily on her, quickened her pace. "We need to get you to safety," she urged, her voice trembling with urgency. As they moved away, the terrifying sounds of the battle behind them seemed to grow louder, a stark reminder of the formidable enemy Damien faced alone.
