"Give me another chance. I promise to step up this time." He was now looking up at her with that look on his face, the same look he had given her years ago when he told her he would do anything for her. She thought that her heart would be weak but all she felt was nothing. Only numbness, she no longer felt anything for this man before her eyes.
"I said... let me go."
"Babe... Please..."
"I'm not your babe."
She yanked her arm out of his tight grasp and walked off. But she barely took a few steps before she pretended to faint, letting her body and limbs go weak in a matter of seconds. The glass fell to the ground and shattered into many tiny pieces with a loud clang that echoed in the pantry, ringing in his ears.
Without hesitation, Ethan jumped out of his seat and dived in, catching her in his arms, just before her body hit the cold hard floor.
