Kathy was sitting alone at one of the tables tucked away at the corner of the café. Her lips were pressed into a thin line and a frown was etched onto her face, resting between her brows. It looked as though she was deep in her own thoughts as she stared ahead into nothing in particular until a familiar voice broke her out of her little reverie.
"Hey, Kathy," the voice greeted.
Immediately, her eyes snapped up and she locked eyes with Alexandra who had walked through the front door. The corners of her lips twitched upwards into a small smile and she was just about to open her mouth to say hi but she quickly noticed there was someone else standing next to her. The words that were sitting at the tip of her tongue disappeared and the smile that was once sitting on her face dropped within a split second as realisation dawned upon her.
