Aiden's hands trembled as he held the body bag containing his unborn child. Claire sobbed quietly, the gravity of the situation pressing down on everyone present. For Aiden, this was supposed to be his first child—a symbol of hope.
"Allen, please take it for him," Claire pleaded, her voice trembling with sorrow.
Allen hesitated before taking the body bag. Turning to the doctor, he asked, "Does Katie know she lost the baby?"
The doctor shook his head. "She passed out before we could inform her. She hasn't regained consciousness yet."
Allen nodded grimly. The tension in the room was palpable as Katie was wheeled out of the operating theater. Her face was pale, her lips almost white, and her body lifeless on the stretcher. The sight moved everyone, even Aiden, who stood frozen, guilt and anguish washing over him.
