Aiden was taken aback to see Lilian in the hospital. She stood at the door, her gaze fixed on Allen, who lay unconscious on the bed. Blood was being transfused into him, and he wore an oxygen mask. He looked weak and pale.
Seeing the once vibrant and charming Allen in such a state made her break down in tears.
Aiden noticed her swollen red eyes, realizing she'd likely cried a lot already, and felt a twinge of sympathy as she sobbed again.
Francis and Claire recognized Lilian as the woman who had given birth to their grandsons, remembering her from the amusement park.
Lilian moved closer, brushing past Allen's parents and Aiden, and knelt to hold his feet. They were pale and lifeless, and she pressed them against her chest as if embracing him.
