Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The documentation at the council affair without her husband present had to have been the worst kind of wedding event ever but Lisa had glazed through it.

Besides, the elderly couple had been so nice to her that she had actually been comfortable for the whole day and had happily joined them for the trip back home.

They drove for a long while before the car eventually entered into what could only be described as a private estate.

Lisa stared in awe as the car finally came to a stop in front of a massive mansion.

Loszsy eyes were wide opened while Cherry only laughed when she saw her face.

"Welcome to your new home, my daughter," she said to Lisa as she helped her out of the car.

Lisa was confused.

What did she mean by her new house?

"Wait, is this where we will now live?," she asked incredulously.

Stanley laughed at her question.

"No, child. I'm too old to live in the city anymore. This is the house you'll share with our son, your husband," he replied while Lisa's mouth dropped open.

Before Lisa could try to differentiate if she was dreaming or anything of that nature, she was led into the house where a long line of the house staff bowed to welcome her home.

Lisa still felt as though she was dreaming as she was introduced to her personal make-up artist, her personal stylist, a yoga instructor, her own driver and even a cook for any meals that she wanted personally made.

Finally, she was taken to her room.

The first thing she noticed was that the room was possibly as big as the whole of her former house.

She walked around the room in awe as she glanced through the closet and its occupants.

An array of designer clothes and shoes and even jewelry.

All through this, Lisa had kept pinching herself so much that she was already numb to feeling.

She walked down to the sleeping area were she was met with a giant bed that had curtains around it like she had seen in the movies.

Lisa laughed as she approached it and sat down, almost sinking into the bed because it was just that soft.

Lisa moaned in ecstasy, she couldn't believe that this was her life now.

"Wait…," she said aloud as she sat up.

"What if I'm getting all of these because Richard Rogers is a scary monster?," She asked aloud, visibly scared as she thought of what he might look like.

"Why else would they bring some backwater nobody if they weren't trying to avoid anyone that might know about him," she whispered as she gasped scandalously.

"I can see you like fiction novels," a voice called from behind the curtain.

Lisa rolled her eyes.

"Of course I do. Who doesn't?," She asked.

It was at that moment, Lisa realized that she was not alone.

She screamed and grabbed the curtain, pushing it aside so she could see who had spoken.

Lisa was about to say something when she saw the man.

He was standing in front of her and smiling softly.

Lisa blinked as she looked at him again, he looked like a more masculine Abercrombie model.

"Who are you?," she asked him.

The man chuckled.

"I'm guessing you're my bride," he said to her instead.

"Wait, you're Richard?," she yelled as she jumped to her feet.

There was no way this handsome man was her husband, no way this was her new life.

"In the flesh, princess," he replied, his deep voice drawling softly.

"You seem shocked. Weren't you expecting me?," he asked as he tilted his head to take a look at her.

Lisa couldn't find the right words to say so she only continued to stare at him while he smiled charmingly at her.

"It seems my wife is quite tired and confused from the long day. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you today. How about we take a bath and have dinner together? That way we can get to know each other slowly," he suggested as he moved closer, becoming more irresistible as he neared her.

Lisa hiccuped.

"Take a bath together?," she asked with wide eyes.

Richard laughed.

"Well, that's what married people tend to do," he answered with a little laugh as he lifted her into his arms and carried her towards the bathroom.

Back at the Dennis household, Esther was trying to watch some television before bed when she stumbled upon the entertainment news.

Normally, she wasn't the type to watch the news but she enjoyed the entertainment news especially because she had always wanted to be rich and famous like the people on it.

She watched with rapt attention as the hosts spoke on the lastest celebrity gossip including a wedding of one of the richest men in the country and how the wedding had been kept in total secret.

Esther kept sighing as she imagined the lucky woman that had married such a man.

The news segment was almost over when she noticed the name of the supposed Billionaire.

"Richard Rogers. Why does that sound familiar?," She whispered as she frowned.

Esther shrugged, about to let it go when she spotted a bunch of envelopes on the table.

They were the envelopes that their monthly cheques from Lisa's new husband used to come in.

Esther rushed to her feet and grabbed the first envelope as she read the name on the bottom of the envelope.

"The Roger corporation?!," she screamed out loud.

Esther shook her head.

What was she even thinking about?

It was just a type envelope that Lisa's crippled husband seemed to like.

Still, Esther was ill at ease until she took out her phone and googled Roger corporation.

The first thing she did was search for the founders.

As soon as the image came on, Esther almost dropped her phone when she realized that the couple on her screen were the annoyingly cheerful couple that she had seen earlier today.

"Wait…what? How is this possible?," Esther questioned as she hurriedly searched out for Richard Rogers.

To her surprise, she was met with pictures of a young, handsome man who seemed perfectly healthy.

In every picture she found of him, he was walking or standing.

"Mum!!!!," She called out in the middle of the night, ready to show her what she had found.

A well of agony immediately erupted in Esther as she realized what she had done and that she had to remedy it as soon as possible.

She was the rightful bride and everyone needed to know that!
