Chapter 36 - Hatred

"Tch, she noticed."

From inside the castle, a figure wearing a cloak that covered their entire face and body clicked their tongue while observing.

"Well, she used to be a level 7," another figure in a cloak with a feminine voice said.

"But dropping two levels is a huge nerf."

"That doesn't mean her instincts will be lost."

As the two were about to argue, a noise came from the throne.

"If you intend to argue here, then please leave," a voice commanded from the throne.

"We apologize, Your Majesty!" Both immediately knelt down.

The person on the throne, with a cold and yet something unsettling in their eyes, seemed like... an unending hatred.

"Regardless of what she becomes, it doesn't matter," the figure stood up, walking towards the light shining through the window.

His face revealed, he was a handsome man with long white hair, blue eyes... and a crystal horn.

"I will tear her apart, gut her, rip her bones, slash her mouth, pull her hair, pluck her eyes, and make her realize that hell is the safest place."

The level of hatred made both underlings sweat profusely.

"But, Your Excellency... what about the monkey?"

"The monkey? Just a cheeky thief who dared to steal the artifact that rightfully belonged to me."

He began to approach a tomb.

"But it doesn't matter, because there will be someone to deal with her."

"Do it" he ordered, and another figure in a cloak approached and used their power on the tomb.

Dark energy began to gather around the tomb, causing it to shake violently.

After a while, the figure stepped back a few steps.

The tomb emitted a powerful surge of energy, pushing the lid of the tomb open forcefully.

He looked at the person lying inside the tomb.

It was a young man dressed as a fisherman, with messy brown hair tied at the back of his neck, purple eyes, and a black spot on his forehead.

"How many years has it been?" He asked directly.

"It's been 2049 years."

"Damn, that long?" He scratched his head and then looked at the man in front of him.

"Who are you?"

"I am the one you will serve."

"You're arrogant."

"I thought a dog like you wouldn't care, Bai Ling."

The man chuckled lightly, he was Bai Ling, a fisherman. However, he was a very special fisherman.

"You're right, but too bad I only act like a dog for those who give me a reason."

The man sneered contemptuously.

"You need a reason too? A warmonger to the point of causing chaos back then has never needed a specific reason for anything."

"Come on, give me a break," Bai Ling laughed softly, standing up and facing the man.

"So, the temporary master of mine, what's your name and why did you resurrect an old man like me?"

Their blue and purple eyes locked onto each other.

"In that case, you should remember my name well. I am Yu Shen, and you only need to fight until death as the Fisherman of the Eastern Sea."

Bai Ling chuckled.

"That's what I want."

***

"Burgh."

"How dare you puff up in front of me?!" Bajie exclaimed angrily, her lips still swollen from accidentally eating spicy food.

"A junior sister should know how to yield," Wukong grinned.

"I don't need to yield to a big fat monkey like you!!!"

We were all in the middle of a place selling a variety of items, from weapons, tools, fruits, and blah blah.

"My wallet..." I sighed in agony, seeing only a few coins left after buying some food for reserve.

"Master! This is so beautiful!" Bajie excitedly pointed at a necklace with a gem on top.

But looking at its price made me blue in the face.

"We're just here to look, don't buy anything..."

"Is that so?" Bajie sounded disappointed but regained her spirit to check out other items.

Wukong looked at some peaches.

"Wukong, we're not buying those peaches."

"oh... please?" Wukong looked at me with a pitiful expression.

I punched her in the face.

Yu Long had been silent the whole time, not talking or looking at anything in this merchandise area.

"Yu Long, why are you quieter than usual today?"

"..."

Yu Long remained silent.

I didn't know how to handle it. Since she had never shown many expressions like Wukong, I wasn't sure what she was thinking.

Deciding to give up, I looked over at Bajie and saw her staring at something pink.

"...Bajie? Why do you keep... looking at that?"

"AH?! I-I CAN EXPLAIN, MASTER!!!" Bajie blushed, awkwardly trying to explain.

"Pfft, piggy is trying to explain her innocence, probably find a way to hide her perverted self who likes to sleep naked~" Wukong seized the opportunity to mock Bajie.

"SHUT UP!!!" A cloud of smoke raise from Bajie's head as she tried to throw a punch at Wukong, but she dodged it.

Wukong ran away and Bajie chased after her, making me sigh.

Then I noticed something.

"A staff?"

It was a minimally dirty staff, upon closer inspection, it could be seen that it was made of gold.

"This is the staff from a monk, however, it's quite old, you can buy it anyway, it's useless," the shopkeeper glanced and said.

The price was about 3 copper coins, even cheaper than an apple.

"I also need a weapon to defend myself, although this is old, is it better than nothing?"

So I decided to buy it, wearing it behind my back.

"Oh? You bought a staff?" Wukong ran up to look at the old staff I had just bought while Bajie was out of breath from not being able to catch up with her.

"Self-defense weapon."

"A good decision, but you don't need to do that, you has us to protect you," Wukong put her hands behind her head.

"But if I don't do anything, I feel a bit useless..."

"It's okay, the more useless the better for you~"

"Why?"

"Master will know in the future~" Wukong's eyes looked at me, making me feel something unsettling in my middle leg.

This monkey might be even more perverted than Zhu Bajie.
