Chapter 42 - Double kill

Zhu Bajie swung the Nine Tooth Rake against the ground, causing everything around to tremble violently.

Lin immediately leaped up, firing toxic substances towards me.

Bajie swiftly ran in front of me, creating an earthen wall to block them.

"Master! Run!" Bajie urgently turned to me, his expression grave.

"But the guards have blocked all the exits!" I replied.

"In that case..." Bajie continued to use her weapon to strike the ground again.

Everything shook once more, and spears made of earth began to rise from the floor, stabbing into the guards.

"Watch out!" one of them shouted in fear.

But it was too late, the earth spears had already taken down 236 out of 500 guards here, giving me a chance to escape.

"Master, find Yu Long!" Bajie smiled at me.

I nodded, grabbed the compass, and ran.

"Hey master, going alone is like walking into death," Wukong appeared behind me.

No, more accurately, it was her clone.

"2 of them is trying to escape!" The guards pointed at me and clone and started chasing.

Wukong's clone immediately conjured a bow and fired rockets straight at them.

"AGHHHH!!!" Several guards were caught in the explosion, burning instantly.

"I've got you now!" Suddenly, one of them appeared in front of me, raising his spear to strike.

I quickly grabbed my staff and struck him hard on the head.

He immediately collapsed unconscious.

The clone then grab his leg and spin him around before throwing him directly at the guards.

Wukong and Bajie watched me successfully escape and breathed a sigh of relief, then turned their gaze towards the enemy.

"Bajie! Give it all you've got!" Wukong shouted loudly for Bajie to hear.

"Got it!"

Upon hearing this, Axin became furious.

He had already begun exerting all his strength to attack, yet Wukong still didn't seem serious at all.

It felt like she was mocking him!

"Wukong, I'll make you regret not going all out from the start!" Axin started channeling energy around himself, scales starting to emerge from his skin.

Fins emerged from Axin's shoulders, legs, and back.

"Feel my full power!" Axin grinned with sharp teeth.

His body was now akin to sharp blades—touching him meant getting cut.

Wukong chuckled arrogantly as flames flickered around her.

"In truth, I held back because I didn't want you to die instantly. After all, a Level 7 threat isn't something to joke about."

"But if you want me to go all out, I don't mind~"

The flames intensified, turning nearby guards into ashes.

"Asura."

Four fiery arms emerged behind her back, each wielding a distinct weapon.

Two demonic heads appeared beside her own, flames wrapping around all three heads.

Axin felt the suffocating pressure and heat, but he continued to grin.

"That's right! This is what I want!" Axin maintained his stance and flew straight at Wukong.

But how could a Level 5 compare to a Level 7?

Axin swung continuously, but Wukong blocked every strike effortlessly.

No matter how fast he attacked, Wukong remained unfazed.

No matter how strong Axin was... he couldn't surpass someone who had once killed gods.

"Huff huff," Axin breathed heavily, sweating profusely while Wukong stood calmly, seemingly amused.

His eyes locked onto the three heads of Wukong.

The two demonic heads regarded him with disdain, while Wukong looked at him playfully, as if this were merely a child's game.

Axin gritted his teeth. He wanted a battle where everyone exerted themselves to the fullest, a fair fight.

But this was nothing but a mockery.

"SUN WUKONG!!!" Axin poured all his energy into his arms, making the spearheads on the fiery arms sharper, aiming for a decisive blow.

Unfortunately, it was futile.

"I told you, Level 7 isn't something you can challenge so easily."

One arm holding a sword swiftly slashed at his neck.

Axin's vision blurred as he writhed, glimpsing terrified guards, Wukong's legs, Bajie's battle with Lin, and finally, his own lifeless body lying on the ground.

"Ah... didn't think I died that fast," Axin chuckled bitterly.

In the end, no matter how big the fish, it couldn't challenge Leviathan.

His vision darkened, consciousness slipping away.

He died.

Wukong reverted to her original form, kicking Axin's head into the wall, shattering it to pieces.

Then she turned to see Bajie locked in combat with Lin.

Lin was at a disadvantage.

His skill set was more suited for assassination rather than facing opponents with strong defensive capabilities.

Faced with such a foe, Lin was like a fish out of water.

"YOU DAMN PIG!!!"

Lin unleashed a barrage of venomous rays, all completely blocked by Bajie's earthen wall.

"You're weaker than I thought!" Bajie laughed cheerfully. While she disliked fighting formidable opponents, dealing with weaker foes was a different story.

Bajie's earth-arm grasped Lin tightly, immobilizing him.

She leaped up, wielding her weapon and striking hard at his head.

The teeth on her weapon pierced through his skull, causing Lin to spurt blood.

He died instantly.

"Both of the strongest allies by our side... they're died!!" The surviving guards looked in fear at the lifeless bodies of Axin and Lin.

Wukong and Bajie glanced at the guards, deciding to eliminate them all.

After slaughtering the guards, both decided to chase after Tang.

"Oh, but Master, which direction did she go?" Wukong scratched his head.

"You couldn't contact your clone?" Bajie looked at Wukong.

"Unfortunately no, my clone is considered a separate entity," Wukong replied.

"...huh? So your clone has its own consciousness?"

"Seems like it, my clone often acts independently, even though it shares my personality."

'How strong is she?! Even her clone has its own consciousness!' Bajie pondered.

"Let's just chase after them, I have my nose after all!"

"If you have no one to stop you," suddenly a voice spoke from behind them.

Both immediately assumed defensive stances, eyeing the new enemy.

Wukong stared intensely at the figure in front of her, gritting her teeth.

"Level 8..."

Bajie surprise, looking at Wukong for confirmation.

"Level? Is that what measures someone's strength?" the young man scratched his head.

"Who are you?" Wukong asked him.

He smiled lightly.

"Just an old man who enjoys fishing."
