Hannah entered the room and glanced around, but Marianne was nowhere to be seen. She groaned and took a seat on the bed. She pulled out her phone and dialled a number. Marianne didn't answer the phone after one or two rings, and then it went directly to voicemail.
Hannah sighed and hung up the phone, frustrated that she couldn't reach her sister. She wondered where Marianne could be and why she wasn't answering her phone. As she sat on the bed, she noticed a note on the nightstand. Curious, she picked it up and read the message scrawled in Marianne's handwriting.
It simply said, "Gone out for a bit; be back soon." Hannah relaxed a bit, relieved that her friend wasn't in any danger. However, she couldn't help but wonder where Marianne had gone and why she hadn't told her.
After two minutes, she received a text message and checked her inbox. It was Marianne who said she was on her way.
She was returning to Matthew's Mansion. The room was filled with a crisp sound and a frigid wind. Hannah turned around to see Marianne climb through the window. Isn't this a lovely way to enter the house? Hannah thought.
"Look who we have here." Hannah smirked, crossing her arms across her chest. Her slim physique would drive anyone insane. Her height was likewise above average, at 1.67 metres. Marianne was 27 years old, two years older than Hannah. She was a model and actor under QT Entertainment.
"Did mom come to check on me?"
"No, she just called you." Hannah answered as she observed Marianne's presence. She couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by her glamorous sister's success.
"Do I look okay?" Marianne inquired, her gaze drawn to her peach knee-length gown. She was stunning, but if she set her lipstick, she'd be ready to go down.
"You look more than okay if you just set your lipstick, we should hurry. For the time being, Brother Zade was restless."
"Huh-oh, okay." Marianne shuddered as she followed Hannah out of the room.
Upon reaching the dining room where everyone was sitting, Before they entered, Hannah stopped and turned to face Marianne. She closed the distance and cupped her face. She spoke, "Are you happy?"
Marianne was taken aback by the sudden question. She paused for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts. Was she happy? It was a complicated question with no easy answer. She thought about the recent events in her life—the ups and downs, the highs and lows. She thought about her family, her friends, her career, and her relationships. She thought about all the things that made her happy and all the things that didn't.
When she was at her lowest, Zade was the one who brought her joy. Everyone's marriage must be organised. But Zade made an attempt to speak with her, something not everyone is aware of. He would listen to her problems and offer words of encouragement. Hannah felt like she could truly be herself around him. As time went on, their friendship grew stronger, and they began to develop feelings for each other.
Despite the arranged marriage looming over them, they couldn't deny their connection. Zade promised to always be there for her, no matter what. Hannah knew that with him by her side, she could face anything that came their way.
They were determined to make their love story a happy one, even if it meant going against tradition and societal expectations. Together, they would overcome any obstacle and prove that true love knows no bounds.
Finally, she looked up at Hannah and gave her a small smile. "I think so," she said. "I'm getting there." A relieved smile appeared on Hannah's lips, and she wasted no minute hugging Marianne, grateful for a sister. As they embraced, Hannah felt a sense of hope and excitement for the future with Marianne, knowing that she would always have someone by her side who believed in her and her love story: Hannah.
"Let's go then," she said, tilting her head towards the door. Marianne looked out the door and at her before giving her a warm last hug."Remember that I am always there for you."
Following the dinner and wedding conversation, they settled on a beach hotel near the city. The wedding would take place two months after the preparations were completed. They could, however, prepare everything in a week. Both the Mathews and Moore families were eager to do everything perfectly and luxuriously.
A week passed while Hannah Mathew went to the city mall to look at the new Daor brand. She was alone and came to send her best wishes to a university classmate who had studied with her for the Fashion designing degree.
'Her sense of style was impeccable.' Hannah was thinking about the patterns she had just seen.
Suddenly, her phone ring and she took it our from her bag and checked it. It was Evelyn who was calling her. Hannah left her at the boutique and now she was calling.
"Hey, Eve?"
"I was wondering when you will return?" She heard her say, somehow Hannah felt there was something urgent in her voice.
"I will be on my way? What happened?" Hannah asked with a frown.
"Nothing... He invited me for a dinner." She rolled her eyes and spoke.
"He or you invited him?" Hannah was standing at the side answering her.
"Please, Han. He isn't like what you think of him."
"As you say. I believe you." Hannah sighed and accepted. She knew Evelyn was deeply in love with him but Hannah wasn't blind. She could see how that boyfriend of her friend's treated her.
"Thanks." she heard her best friend chimed behind the phone.
Hannah understood that she was waiting for her and promptly ended the call with a brief "Okay. See you." Without hesitation, she picked up her pace and headed towards the exit not giving attention to her sides.
She didn't noticed someone was approaching her from the other side in a hurry.
Before she could stop, she collided with him and fell on the ground, taking him with her.
The fall was awkward, and her eyes widened, as did the man's. He was stunned as Hannah pushed him off her.
The man came to his senses and apologised. He was going to bow when Hannah interrupted him.
Hannah pushed her hair back, frustrated. She turned to give him a deadlier look but stopped seeing Aaron standing in front of her. Once again, fate played a twist with her.
She narrowed her eyes and said. "Hey, are you blind or what? Can't you open your eyes while walking?" She murmured then, "How stupid people are these days."
Aaron raised his brows seeing Hannah after many years was already a surprise but, she was so rude all time she met him.
She heard him say, "Oh, hello, Princess of Nowhere Land! I realise it was my fault that I was running, but could you perhaps at least listen to me first? I was about to apologise to you when you didn't listen."
"I'm not interested in your apologies." Hannah was irritated. Yes, she should at least hear him first. He may be in a rush, but what she did was irreversible.
When she looked around, she noticed that a few people who were watching them had broad grins on their faces. She realised she had already embarrassed herself. She had to leave the mall.
"Where has Aaron gone?"
Hannah heard a low shout from a distance and saw the man's eyes widen as he raced for his life.
After rapidly turning back, Hannah noticed her ex scurrying away. He seemed so unbelievable to her. Was he really leaving like this again? Hannah couldn't help but feel annoyed as she saw him disappear into the crowd.
Three to four young girls were running in the same direction as her and came to a standstill near her to search.
"Hey, have you seen a handsome guy running around here?" The girls were dressed in their school uniforms. They had to be high school students to be stalking a man like him.
"Are you addressing me?"
"Do you notice anyone else around?" An irritated girl with bangs inquired. They'd lost him yet again.
"I didn't notice anyone running. Heh" The girls exchanged strange looks and walked away before rolling their eyes at Hannah. It seems that Hannah was not able to help the girls in their pursuit of the man they were stalking, and they were not pleased with her response. However, if they are able to find him, it will not go well.
"I think I saw a handsome man going in that direction. I'm not sure whether that's the same guy you're looking for, though." Hannah turned around, ready to go, with a confident smile on her face.
"Why do we believe you?" One of the girls asked, crossing her arms. Hannah's smile faltered slightly, but she quickly regained her composure.
"Well, you don't have to believe me," she said, shrugging. "But I did see a guy who fits your description heading that way. It's up to you if you want to check it out." The girls looked at each other, silently communicating their doubts.
After a moment of hesitation, one of them spoke up. "Fine, we'll check it out," she said. "But if you're wrong, we're coming after you."
Hannah sighed and shook her head, watching the girls walk away. She couldn't help but feel frustrated with their behaviour.
She glanced around, trying to spot him, they had been following, but he was nowhere in sight.
Hannah decided to continue on her way, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. As she walked, she couldn't help but wonder what the girls were up to and why they were so interested in him.
"They were correct; he is quite handsome." She murmured and walked out to the parking lot. She buckled her seat belt and was about to drive when her phone blinked.
"I'm hoping you didn't forget about your promise." This message was read.
Hannah looked bewildered as she facepalmed. She completely forgot about the commitment she made to Mrs. Moore.
How could she have forgotten to meet her favourite designer? She gasped in nervousness. Was she really going to meet her favourite designer? She promptly responded, stating she'd be there in a few minutes. She checked herself and adjusted her hair with her bare palm while applying lipstick.
