Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

In addition to bringing some daisies and going to buy cake, Hannah pulled her car over in front of the florist.

The flower shop had a wide variety of daisies of different colours, and Hannah chose the ones that were bright yellow and symmetrically arranged.

At the bakery, she thought to buy scones and cupcakes to go with the cake with chocolate toppings and colourful sprinkles.

Hannah sat inside the car, feeling satisfied with her purchases and excited to surprise her friend with the treats. Suddenly, there was a girl knocking on the door, and with her was a little boy who was holding his sister's hem of the dress. He was mostly five.

Hannah hurriedly scrolled down the window of her side and said, "Yes, beautiful?" The kid smiled at hearing herself called beautiful, although her face was dirty with dirt as she shyly spoke.

"We have been hungry since morning. We haven't eaten anything a-" Before she would have said anything more, Hannah, without thinking twice, gave the girl and a little boy the cupcakes she brought for Mrs. Moore. Furthermore, Moore was rich; she already had flowers; that's enough, but these children haven't eaten since morning, which made her worried.

"Take this and go home. It's late, and you are young." Hannah instructed as she gave the girl a few notes of money that brought a sweet smile to her face. She thanked her multiple times before vanishing in the crowd towards her house after both children waved her hands as a goodbye.

Hannah drove her car inside when the gate of the mansion opened without any inquiry. She got down and saw the mansion. The foyer was bigger than some houses—easily a thousand square feet—and the person who had built it was afraid that the entryway might have to double as a place to host balls.

Stone archways lined the foyer on either side, and the room stretched up two stories to an ornate ceiling, elaborately carved from wood. It was made of white marble and red stone, with countless green columns and gold railings surrounding it. Even just looking up took her breath away. That place was so unfamiliar that she could not even see a guard.

To the outside viewer, the mansion would have seemed identical to any other in the prestigious neighbourhood. Large curtained windows set in solid concrete walls and burnt red tiles on the roof. Massive. Sprawling. It had a castle-like appearance, better suited to royalty than ranch land. There were a half dozen cars parked out front and one beat-up motorcycle that looked like it should be dismantled. and sold for parts.

Hannah eyed the bike. Is it Kai's, she wondered.

A well-kept gravel path led to automatic double doors. She just sighed, looking at the house. It would be her's if she... Nevermind.

Moore had a massive house, whereas Matthews' residences were also large but not as large as Moore's. However, Moore's corporatism was also the best in the world. Additionally, the entrepreneur deals with a variety of brands and goods.

She rang the bell and stood close to the door, looking around. The weather had gotten a little bit cold. Furthermore, she was currently wearing a cute long blue skirt with a white blouse that she had designed.

Olivia Moore flung open the door. Hannah was welcomed inside and given a hug.

"Finally, how are you doing? I have been waiting for you." She said it with joy, like a young friend excited to meet her friend. She didn't have the appearance of an older woman. Olivia's cheerful demeanour and youthful appearance belied her age, and Hannah couldn't help but smile back at her enthusiasm.

"This is for you." Hannah passed the cake and fresh flowers to Mrs. Moore as she entered the living room. Mrs. Moore's eyes lit up with delight at the sight of the cake and flowers.

"Oh my, you shouldn't have," she said with a grateful smile.

Hannah replied, "Why not? It's my first time coming to your house." Olivia beamed inwardly, as I thought she was a beautiful girl inside and out.

"That's why you have a beautiful heart."

"Thank you, Auntie." Hannah was blessed to get a compliment from the two billionaires sons mother.

She said, "I'm sorry, I just had some urgent work." She lied and regretted it, but she also didn't want Olivia to despise her.

Olivia's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly recovered and said, "No need to apologize, dear. I understand how busy life can get." She gestured for Hannah to follow her into the living room, where a tray of tea and biscuits awaited them on the coffee table.

As they settled onto the couch, Olivia said, "It's okay. Make yourself at home."

A colossal couch occupied the living room, along with the most recent TV show. A creaking bookcase accommodated torn books, looking ahead vacantly. Inside looked more beautiful than outside, which made her feel comfortable. It was filled with expensive furniture and paintings on the walls. There was also a beautiful garden outside that you could enjoy while sitting on one of the many chairs around it. Moore had travelled around the world, so they knew how to pick up things that they liked most.

"How is your mother, dear?" asked Mrs. Moore, gesturing for her guest to take a seat on the plush sofa while Hannah was happy with Olivia's hospitality.

"She's doing well, thank you," replied the young woman, admiring the intricate details of a hand-carved coffee table. "Your home is absolutely stunning." Hannah complimented her, feeling grateful for the warm welcome she had received.

"Thank you, dear. I've always had a passion for interior design and fashion." Mrs. Moore smiled as she looked around the room, admiring her collection of designer clothing on display.

'If you were here it would be more beautiful,' she thought but didn't said out loud. "Speaking of fashion, what do you think about the latest trends? Do you think they're worth following?"

Hannah shrugged her shoulders, unsure of how to answer. "Personally, I like to stick to classic pieces that never go out of style." Olivia chimed in, agreeing with Hannah's statement.

"Yes, I completely agree. Fashion is all about expressing your own personal style and wearing what makes you feel confident and comfortable." Hannah loved the lady whose taste was so superior. Not to mention, she got to know the lady in front of her, who was the director of the model industry. Every member of the Moore family was elite enough. To know that everyone in the family has a huge passion inside them.

Hannah turned to Mrs. Moore and said, "Speaking of personal style, have you started thinking about which designer dresses you are going to wear? I want to gift you some dresses, as for now I am working on Marriane's dresses." Hannah smiled and said, "It's a surprise for her."

Olivia Moore replied, "Oh, my dear. You don't have to make me one; I've already picked out a classic dress that I know will never go out of style, and my son designed it." Hannah smiled as she had expected it and said, "I can't wait to see it!" The wedding was near, and the celebration had already started at Moore and Matthew's house. They're planning a huge celebration with all of their elite family members. It's going to be quite the event."

Hannah searched the area in hopes of spotting someone, but there was none to be found. She nervously rubbed her palm with her thumb; it was her habit as she bit her lower lip. Mrs. Moore watched every move she made.

"Mrs. Moore, does your son work for the company or his own line?" Hannah asked about Mrs. Moore's son and whether he worked for a company or had his own business.

"Both dear." Her short answer stunned the young woman, who looked at her in awe.

"That's awesome. I'm not sure, though. Shouldn't you be wearing the clothes your son designed if he owns a line, rather than promoting another one? Ofoxie is a well-known brand; I admit that." Mrs. Moore grinned mischievously at her words.

"I am, my love. The Ofoxie brand was developed by my son." Hannah's eyes widened in surprise this time. 'What in the world? How will I approach him? What if Kai considered me lower?'
