POV: Third Person
Belgium, 1944
During the Meeting Between Freyja and the Nazi General.
A Genosha jet streaks across the sky at high speed, heading for a remote location in Belgium. Inside the jet are few men, as this mission prioritizes speed. Everyone here is part of Genosha's finest team of warriors, who follow orders only from the King and the generals.
"Pay attention!"
With only a few minutes left until they reach their destination, Nordur stands up and faces his men.
"The mission is simple. We will invade a secret underground Nazi bunker and stop the launch of the missile that threatens our men."
All the soldiers here already know the mission they're on, the general just wants to reinforce it in their minds.
"The second order is to investigate how the Nazis acquired the technology to create this weapon. That is actually our primary objective, because if the missile is launched, it will be immediately shot down by our ships."
Genosha has been unable to determine what type of missile the Nazis created. All the information they've gathered confirms that the missile is powerful enough to wipe Poland off the map. While this rules out the possibility of a nuclear bomb, it's possible that it's a chemical weapon.
Just the fact that the Nazis couldn't use this weapon until they were utterly hopeless suggests its danger. This technology shouldn't exist, so Baldur ordered it to be investigated immediately.
"Also, a few minutes ago, we received a report that during a meeting between General Freyja and a Nazi general, a bomb was detonated at the site."
These words shocked the soldiers. General Freyja is undoubtedly the heroine of this war, she personally led the invading army on every battlefield, earning great honor among the soldiers and the people of Genosha.
"Shortly afterward, one of the Nazi leaders reported that he dealt us a major blow by killing our general, so I assume that all of this was a trap."
If the men were shocked before, now they're furious. For the soldiers of Genosha, there's nothing more important than honor.
"Fortunately, General Freyja managed to survive the explosion, but unfortunately, our men who were accompanying her did not survive."
"What are the king's orders, sir?"
One of the men asks, all of Genosha knows that General Freyja was personally trained by the king, who has looked after her since she was a child. The king must be furious now!
"We are currently focused on healing the general's wounds, but you must know what kind of man our king is, the order will come. In the meantime, we have to fulfill our mission."
"Yes, sir!" everyone responds.
After making the report, Nordur returns to the pilot's cabin to check their position.
"Do you think the king will come personally?" one of the soldiers asks in a low voice.
"I don't know, but I do know that these Germans are truly unlucky," one of them responds.
"Our king has always been honorable and just, but now the Germans have crossed the line with such a dishonorable attack. After this action, they will have to deal with the consequences."
Everyone agrees with that.
The aircraft doesn't take long to reach its destination, a remote forest in Belgium. A place where no one would search for a secret base. The ship goes into invisible mode and lands in a small hidden clearing, the soldiers exit the craft in an organized manner and take up defensive positions around the aircraft.
Unlike the common soldiers of Genosha who wear silver armor and carry spears, everyone here is wearing lightweight black armor with futuristic rifles. They are a unit similar to the American SEALs, trained for high-risk missions, the best of the best.
General Nordur, who is also wearing similar black armor, exits the aircraft.
"Let's go."
Everyone starts walking in an organized manner into the forest. It's noon, so a group of men wearing black armor in the forest would attract a lot of attention if not for the camouflage of the armor, which makes them almost transparent. A few minutes later, the squad reaches a small mountain, where four armed guards protect the entrance to the cave, and nobody would suspect anything.
"Execute!"
Nordur commands over the radio.
In the same second, four shots are fired, hitting all the guards in the head, only the sound of bodies falling to the ground is heard.
These men use weapons, but they don't fire ordinary bullets, instead, they use a chemical substance similar to H2O. When fired from the weapons, the substance travels at many times the speed of ordinary bullets, penetrating almost anything. Plus, it leaves no evidence behind, as the chemical dissolves with the enemy's blood.
"Let's go!"
Everyone moves and enters the cave entrance, inside, they can see a large solid iron door guarded by two more guards who don't even have a chance to raise their weapons before being hit.
One of the men steps forward and places a black disc on the steel door. The disc begins to emit a ridiculous amount of heat, turning the entire door red, and moments later it simply melts, opening the entrance.
Inside the bunker, the corridor was well-lit. The soldiers felt safe, knowing that nothing would happen to them, which facilitated their advance until the first scream broke the peace. After that, there was no need to remain silent anymore, all those who did not surrender were killed on the spot.
The soldiers from Genosha advanced through the underground shelter until they reached another huge door in the center of the facility.
"There's no way to melt this door, blow it up!" Nordur orders.
His men place explosives on the door, and seconds later, it collapses.
Everyone enters the center of the facility and sees a large oval space. In the center of it, protected by a long glass screen, is a large missile with the colors of the Nazi party. In front of the glass screen are several men wearing white lab coats in a panic.
"Anyone who surrenders will be spared!" Nordur shouts, attempting to get them to surrender.
These men are not soldiers, they are just scientists, often working against their will. The Nazis kidnapped several Jewish scientists to work for them under threat, and the men from Genosha knew this, so they gave them the chance to surrender first.
"Gather everyone there. A6, take care of the missile," Nordur commands.
His men gather everyone on the west side of the facility, making room for A6 to deactivate the missile launch. Among all the scientists gathered in the facility, one of them caught Nordur's attention. Unlike all the others who were frightened, he had a cold expression.
"Sir, it's over," A6 says, drawing Nordur's attention back to the missile once again.
"Report," Nordur demands.
"It's a missile carrying some kind of biological material, sir. The material is protected inside the missile, so we can't analyze it. All I can say for now, based on the documents found here, is that the virus in question has a one hundred percent lethality rate."
His intelligence was correct, such a powerful virus should not be in the hands of the Nazis.
"Take two men and remove the virus from the missile, then we'll blow all of this up," Nordur commands.
"You fools! You've destroyed the plan I've been working on for years," a cold voice calls out, capturing everyone's attention. Nordur sees that it's the same cold-eyed scientist he noticed earlier.
"Shut up!" one of his men, who was guarding the scientists, speaks up, but the cold scientist looks at him and smiles.
"A worm like you dares to order me!"
"Crack!!"
With a simple hand movement, he turns the soldier's head completely backward, killing him instantly.
"Fire!" the well-trained soldiers immediately react, shooting at the doctor.
The doctor raises his hand, and all the bullets seem to collide with an invisible barrier.
"Telekinesis," Nordur says, looking at the man.
Seeing that the attack is ineffective, his soldiers begin to retreat slowly, still maintaining the attack on the doctor, who is smiling at their futile attempt.
The other scientists who were close to the man panicked and ran, unfortunately some were caught in the crossfire and ended up dead.
"Cease fire, close combat."
Seeing that the weapons are not working, Nordur orders close combat. He draws the sword given to him by his king and attacks, his men also take out a device from their waist that lights up turning into a light sword that can cut through anything. Being closer, they arrive first.
The doctor extends his palm and shoots a beam of energy that hits the first soldier at the waist, splitting him in two. He shoots again, hitting another in the head, making it disappear. The third is hit in the chest, creating a huge hole where the heart should be. In three seconds, he killed three men. Three seconds was the time for Nordur to reach him, unfortunately he was also hit by a beam of energy right in the middle of his body, creating a hole in him.
"AAHH!" Nordur screams and spits out a large amount of blood on the ground as he gets up.
It is possible to see his wound closing at a great speed, the doctor notices this and stops killing his men.
"Curious, your regeneration is not a mutant power, you are a worthy specimen."
"Grenades!"
Seeing their leader in danger, the survivors throw grenades at the man's feet.
"BOOM!"
A large explosion occurs from the energy grenades, the doctor is thrown by the glass protection and falls in the space near the missile.
"Are you alright, sir?" One of his men comes to help him.
"Yes, I'm almost healed."
"Did he die?" one of them asks, looking to where the doctor fell.
"No one survives the explosion of two plasma bombs," confirms the other.
"BOOM!"
Another explosion occurs where the doctor fell, the glass shards that fell on him move and explode upwards, revealing the figure of the doctor with his clothes destroyed, but no damage to his body. The indifference in his eyes disappeared, now only anger remains.
"You animals, how dare you embarrass me like this!"
The doctor begins to float, standing at the height of the missile looking down at us. Nordur jumps up with his sword raised, ready for a blow, only to be hit by another energy blast, this time so powerful that it tore off one of his arms and a leg, making him fall to the ground in a pathetic state. With the little consciousness he still has, he takes the communicator and contacts the command center of Genosha.
"General Nordur to the command center requesting reinforcements, we have an omega-level threat, I repeat, we have an omega-level threat."
Meanwhile, his men were firing everything they had at the doctor who begins to transform. His clothes are replaced by a large armor that covers his entire body, leaving only his face exposed. At his waist appears a large letter "A", his body grows leaving him four meters tall. His face turns blue, he loses his hair and his eyes turn red.
The change made everyone stop the attack. Now they feel a great pressure being released by the monster in front of them.
"Kneel before me and beg for mercy, for you are in the presence of... Apocalypse!"
His proud voice echoes throughout the installation.
