Chapter 104 - Family dinner

"Ethan's POV"

"When did you arrive here?"

She turned to face me, her stuttering making it clear she wasn't expecting me to enter her room. She hadn't noticed me standing in front of her door because she was too preoccupied talking to herself in the mirror.

Seeing her stunning beauty, I started having hiccups once more. She looked even more breathtaking in this outfit than in the afternoon. Perhaps her messy hairstyle and minimal makeup contributed to her overall beauty.

Why did her outfit make her appear so tall?

My masculine ego was dismayed to see her standing before me, staring directly into my eyes. However, I'm relieved her boyfriend can't contact her right now. She must be upset with her partner for not getting back to her in the morning. That's why she claimed not to love him.

"Shall we proceed?" She gently waved her hand to break my train of thought.

Stopping her from receiving calls from her boyfriend satisfies my ego. She will now be with me all the time.

You violated your ethics by treating her in such a terrible way. I ignored my subconscious's moral and ethical lectures because I was too busy having fun with Stella.

She forcefully buttoned my open shirt when we were in the mall. Seeing her audacity gave me shivers. So, she likes my chest but doesn't want to flaunt it in front of any other woman.

Since she didn't even think of me as her husband, why did she act in a domineering manner toward me? I questioned my subconscious.

I don't know if it's good for you to ask her this question.

How could you treat me like this? My subconscious acts like Stella.

"Ethan, can I drive the car?" She cast a hopeful glance at me.

No way; don't let her get near your car's steering wheel. My male ego told me not to give her the car keys. In the afternoon, I was filled with happiness and eager to enjoy the sunny day, so I asked her to drive my car.

But now, my male ego is already satisfied with my new achievement by blocking his number from her, so I don't want to give her the car keys.

So, you'll shatter her heart? Could you not notice the glimmer in her eyes? She is a far better driver than you, so I think you have to give her the car keys. My subconscious is again advocating for Stella.

I'm looking for a way to please both my subconscious and my ego.

"Stella, I called the driver to drive to the Woods' mansion so you can sit with me in the back seat." I motioned for her to take a seat in my Lamborghini as I opened the door of the passenger seat. She wanted to argue with me about the decision I had made, but she sat down in silence in the passenger seat without saying anything.

She kept checking her phone in hopes of seeing a message from her partner, but nothing appeared.

"Stella, why do you keep checking your phone? Are you waiting for a call?" I couldn't help but smile broadly when I saw how restless she was.

"Yes," she replied, "I'm waiting for Avery to call. She didn't call this morning."

Oh, so she's trying to deceive me by lying? I am aware that she is awaiting a call from her partner.

"If my grandmother asks you anything about her great-grandson, Stella, please don't freak out."

When my grandmother called, her only concern was about the Woods family heir, as she was thrilled to hear about Stella's pregnancy. My heart longed to tell her that I would have given her a great-grandson by now if I could, but alas, a child does not sell in toy stores. I don't know how to convince my wife to grant my grandmother's request for a child when she has already found love with someone else.

So you wish to become a father to her child? My subconscious questioned me.

No, I was just considering how to grant my grandmother's wish. I gave explanations to my subconscious.

"How are you, Stella?" On reaching the Woods mansion, my grandmother welcomed her with a joyful hug.

My grandfather had never met her before. He had a nice smile on his face as he spoke to her, but when he looked at me, he frowned. I couldn't figure out why he was staring at me with such anger.

"Come on, Stella, let's play chess," he invited her.

"Grandpa, she doesn't know how to play chess," I attempted to prevent him from conversing with her in private.

My grandfather is highly skilled at deceiving people with his words and easily extracting the truth, and I was concerned that Stella might reveal her secrets in his presence.

"Ethan, I know she doesn't know how to play chess. This will lead to her easily losing the chess match. I'm going to teach her how to play chess now, so she never loses to you again."

How did he discover that information? Why am I even asking this ridiculous question when I already know the answer? My stupid assistant is the only spy who tells my grandparents about all of my secrets.

"Why didn't you come into the kitchen with me, Ethan?" Grandma asked me to help her in the kitchen.

"Grandma, with so many employees in this mansion, why are you under so much stress? It's time for you to relax." I laid my head on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about my well-being, Ethan. I am not going anywhere until I see my great-grandson."

Oh no, my grandmother brought up this topic again. While I was relieved that the family supper was proceeding without a hitch, Stella's oversight derailed my whole plan.

"Why did you keep this a secret from us, Ethan?" Grandma gave me a stern look.

"No, it's not what you're thinking at all." I attempted to clarify her confusion, but she ignored all of my arguments. W

hat should I do right now?

Stella causes us both a great deal of trouble. I want to tell my grandmother the truth, but she won't listen to me.
