Chapter 91 - Opening share price

"Stella's point of view,"

"Are you angry with me, Ethan?" After finding out about my expertise in finance, he acted pretty strangely. I could still keep this information about myself a secret from him, but I don't think it would be fair to do so now that we are friends and he has an appropriate curiosity about knowing such fundamental information.

"Stella, I'm not furious at you, but I'm still perplexed by your honesty. You are an important player in the stock market, so why did you decide to keep quiet that evening?"

Oh, so learning about my other career crushed his pride; that's good for him.

"Ethan, sometimes being quiet at a particular time, can shatter a man's ego. If I respond to you by telling you who I am, you won't likely recognize your error and will continue to treat me like the icy and obstinate CEO of the wood industry."

"If you believe that the mere knowledge of your abilities will cause me to alter and treat you differently, let me assure you that I will not act in the manner you anticipate. I am still Ethan Woods." After hearing him, I couldn't help but laugh.

Why he tries to conceal his good qualities beneath his obstinate and egotistical actions.

"I understand your point now, Mr. Woods."

Before returning to the USA, I need to finalize my next action plan. I am aware that many businessmen in the USA are eagerly awaiting my arrival. They are all waiting for my response regarding Chang Industry's deal cancellation.

I'm still baffled by Ethan's request for me to create a financial budget for his business since he already has an excellent financial advisor. But if he requests that I write a report, then I must try. If I denied him outright, then I would be well aware of his obstinate attitude.

"Stella, could you please inform me of the Nasdaq opening price? I would like to know the opening share price for Woods Construction." His curious eyes lingered on me.

He truly acts like a child at times. Anyone listening to him talks nonsense would have a hard time believing he ran a major construction firm in the United States.

"Are you kidding me, Ethan?" After adjusting my spectacles, I asked him.

"No, I honestly want to know what my industry's opening share price is." I hummed and pulled my iPad from the side drawer of the bed before giving him an impartial glance.

Despite my heavy workload, I gave in to his puppy-like persistence and analyzed the candle chart for Woods Construction.

"Okay, Mr. Woods, Nasdaq will start trading over 6,000, and the opening share price for your industry is $17,000."

"Are you sure?" He asked with an arched brow.

"Let's wait for the global market to open." I shrugged and started working again on my laptop.

"You didn't take your medication, Stella." He bothered me once more. However, I am struck by his caring side.

"I sent your company's action plan via email; please check it out on your laptop and let me know if it needs any adjustments, Mr. Woods."

"Well, I'll check that out later." He responded to me while keeping his eyes glued to an iPad.

What exactly is he doing? I don't want to meddle with his private matters, but my curiosity has taken over, and I can't help but look at the screen of his iPad.

This man is crazy.

He is eager to verify my forecast for the opening price of the stock market.

"Oh my god, this is unbelievable. You were right to predict it.

Stella Parker, you are truly amazing."

He shouted with delight.

"What's so great about that, anyway, since every financial guru knows it already?" I don't know what was making him so excited.

"No, you are mistaken; not all financial experts have such high predictive accuracy. You know, despite asking numerous financial advisors the same question in the past, nobody ever correctly predicted the opening share price." He gave me an enthusiastic forehead kiss.

What happened to him after all.

"Stella, we need to head out for New York right away."

My leg is still in plaster, so I have to use a wheelchair.

"I have an offer for you, Stella." He approached me and spoke in a serious tone while we were in his private jet.

"What offer do you have for me now? I'm not in the mood to enter into another agreement with you."

"I wish to hire you as the new financial director of Woods Construction."

"What?" I sloshed my coffee all over him.

"What about this is so startling?" He asked me while glaring fiercely at his white shirt.

"Ethan, I'm sorry, but this is not possible. I already have a lot on my plate, so I'm sorry, but I can't accept your offer. I don't want a boss like you who is arrogant and egotistical."

"Stella, I am not asking for your help; rather, I am issuing an order. As your spouse, I am entitled to reap the benefits of your fiscal acumen."

"Don't expect me to give in to your every demand."Now, he gets on my nerves. How is it that he can control me like this? He can politely ask me for a favor if he needs one, but by doing so, he asserts authority over me.

"I won't agree to your strange demands."

"Stella, please don't challenge me; you know me well enough to know that if I want something, I'll get it."

"I'm going to challenge you. I'm curious to see how you'll persuade me to accept your conditions this time." Why he has to get on my nerves so often is beyond me.

It's hard to predict how he'll act; one minute, he'll be a sweetheart, and the next, he'll be a heartless, egocentric CEO.

"I will relinquish my insistence on hiring you as my financial advisor if you can beat me in a race car."

"What if I win?" I inquired while arching my brow.

"Then definitely I will never ask you to do any favor for me."

"Okay, that's great. We will take on your challenge after my leg is healed."

"No, as soon as we land in New York, you must accept this challenge."

"You are aware that my leg is in plaster, Ethan.

I have a fractured leg; how can I drive?"

"That is not my issue. Stella, if you have any problems, just admit defeat and agree to cooperate with me."

Oh my God, suddenly I regretted having disclosed to him my financial background. He will do anything to succeed. All he cares about is triumphing.

"Okay, I'll take up your challenge. when we get to New York City. We'll begin the racing game." I took a deep breath and resumed working.
