"Ethan's point of view,"
Oh my god, was that a dream? I'm shocked Stella accepted my marriage proposal. How did this miracle take place? No matter how many times I asked, she refused to disclose the reasons for her change of heart. Her accepting my proposal is equivalent to my receiving a trophy.
She must have had a very particular motive for choosing that option; otherwise, she wouldn't have agreed to my offer. Well, whatever the motivation behind her choice, I have nothing to do with it, but from my perspective, everything is working to my advantage.
She will now sell her land to me as well, ask my forgiveness for her mistake, and assist me in accomplishing my grandmother's last request by getting married to me. And all I have to give her in return are her company's shares. I'm not even remotely interested in her company. I already have a business of my own to run.
As I sat in my office, I was ecstatic about my success.
She wants to meet you, but why? Once more, my subconscious tried to annoy me by asking a ridiculous question. Why don't you remain silent for a while? You can not annoy me with your queries whenever I try to be cheerful. I gave my subconscious the order not to ruin my good mood.
It currently thrilled you since you have satisfied your ego, yet I sense that something is wrong.
Why is Stella Parker so willing to accommodate your demands? Finally, my subconscious has achieved its goals. My subconscious didn't feel relieved until I planted doubt in my mind. I'm running out of patience, and I want to meet her right now to quench my curiosity.
"Tomorrow at 6 p.m., meet me at the same place." My phone's display lit up with her message. I glanced at my wristwatch to see the time.
Oh no, I still have to wait another day to see her! My curious mind will continue to cause me problems until then. Why couldn't she arrange for us to meet in the morning?
Should I call her right away to schedule a meeting for tomorrow morning?
No, you shouldn't be too impatient. Everything will happen on time, so it would be best if you concentrated all of your attention on your work right now.
I'm not sure why, but lately, my inner voice has been talking a lot about spirituality. I once again focused entirely on my task by paying attention to my inner voice.
Somehow, I made it through the day, and now it was almost time for me to meet her. I was so excited to meet her that I reached there an hour before the time.
No, I'm not excited to meet her, but I am expecting the time when she will apologize to me for her error.
Right now, I'm unable to let my ego swell with joy.
"How long have you been waiting for me, Mr. Woods?" When she saw me, she asked in a voice full of amazement.
Oh no, she must be considering how badly I want to meet her right now.
"I've just arrived here." I masked my excitement at her by telling a falsehood.
"However, I'm astonished to see you here on time." She continued to mock me.
"I've only once been late to a meeting, Miss Parker, and I'm always on time elsewhere, so please stop making fun of me for my punctuality," I uttered in a furious tone.
"Mr. Woods, calm down. I didn't mean to enrage you; you get angry easily." She's attempting to calm my rage.
Wow, this has surprised me in a big way. She always wants to debate with me about everything, so why the abrupt shift in attitude today?
"Waste no more time, Miss Parker. You quickly apologize to me, then transfer your land into my name, and then we have to set a wedding date."
My ears have been itching for an apology from her for what seems like an eternity.
"Mr. Woods, be patient. There's no urgency. If you're willing to sign this agreement with me, then I'll agree to all of your terms." She held out the envelope in her hand for me to take.
"Deal? What type of deal are you referencing?" I took the envelope out of her grasp and instantly began reading the paper inside.
"Have you gone insane? I'm not willing to agree to even the smallest of the conditions listed on these papers." I yelled violently as I slammed the table with my fist.
"Mr. Woods, if you won't agree to my terms, I won't agree with any of yours." She replied as she got out of the chair.
"Don't you want the shares of your company back?"
Why would she reject my offer in such a manner? She assured me she had agreed to all of my demands.
"No, I won't satisfy any of your demands if you refuse to accept any of mine. I have to leave my company for this." She declared resolutely.
"All right, Miss Parker, whatever you like." I stood up from my chair after taking the cash out of my wallet and setting it on the table.
Her moving steps stopped at the same spot after she noticed my action. I knew completely that she was trying to trick me. Now that I have categorically rejected her demands, she has to agree to my condition, and I know well that she will not give up her control over me to her company without a fight. My heart was full of joy because of my success.
"What happened, Miss Parker? Have you changed your mind?" I turned to her and asked a question.
"I have not changed my mind, Mr. Woods." She responded while glancing at me.
"So why haven't you left yet?" I'm furious as I watch her tantrum; why doesn't she kneel straight in front of me?
"Perhaps there is a problem with your eyes. Mr. Woods, if you consider, you might notice that the trunk of my purse is placed under the leg of the chair." My gaze landed on the chair leg after she finished speaking.
Oh, so that's why she's stuck here till now, and I thought that I'd manipulated her.
You are an idiot; how could you think you could so easily manipulate a girl like Stella? The voices in my head began laughing at me.
"I have to go, Mr. Woods." She said this as she took a step toward the door.
"Goodbye, Miss Parker." I attempted to keep a fake smile on my face.
What have you done, idiot?
She's more obstinate than you are. You won't even fulfill your grandmother's last wish to appease your ego, will you? You must stop her and agree to all of her demands.
No, I won't do anything of the sort. I shall show to her I am more obstinate than this female. I communicated my decision to my subconscious.
Why do you disregard your need for her at this moment? Her land is holding up your project; your grandmother's last wish can only be achieved by being married to her, and after that, she'll be happy to feed your ego by offering an apology. So what's the issue with you agreeing to her terms? I keep getting warnings from my subconscious not to agree to her terms.
"Miss Parker, I accept all of your terms." She listened to me, and a broad grin of triumph spread across her face.
"Mr. Woods, I must admit that you are a very good business person who never suffers losses." She spoke as she once again extended that envelope in my direction.
"Miss Parker, even I have to confess that you know how to find an advantage in a losing situation." I responded as I took the envelope out of her hands.
