"You speak of him as if he is your God. What is his end goal anyway?" I questioned.
For the past few minutes, the undead man in front of him who introduced himself as Garka told me all about the benefits of their organization. His description surely reek of bias. He had never once uttered any cons about them. He only told what I'm suppose to do and what I'll get in return. He expressed his words in a honeyed tone. He speaks like a professional businessman, a charmer. He chose words that would captivate his listeners.
If I was an idiot, I would have immediately joined them. No matter how much he tries to persuade me, he forgot one single thing.
I am officially pissed right now. That anger held me from being charmed by his proposal. I had not forgotten the chaos he brought towards my nest.
I can hear multiple explosions from outside right now. I saw my drones doing damage control from there. Their weapons are set and ready to combat any possible threat.
As times go by, the numerous sounds of explosions still continues. And as I await, I am getting more and more frustrated. I want nothing more but to pummel this guy to the ground right now but I know that attacking recklessly is a sure suicide. Garka is obviously more powerful than me and considering that he is with an organization that Juha formerly worked with, he has a huge dept of experience of fighting. Right now, he expresses his nonchalant and quirky attitude. His voice is inviting and calming for those who listens. He appears...harmless but beyond that facade is a guarantee genocidal maniac.
At the meantime, I was able to prepare an easy communication towards my drones. Inside my mask is a voice command that sends my orders towards every drones in the vicinity. When I noticed the chaos, I immediately ordered my drones to assist Juha and Whity's retaliation towards their enemies. Meanwhile I assigned a few available ones to secure my important projects to a safe location. Some of them were ordered to hide in the nearby posts and walls, ready to attack Garka at my command.
"My lord? Oh right. Considering that this is a recruitment session, it doesn't hurt to know who are you working for. Although, I'm a bit curious. Did Juha never talk about him?"
Now that I think about it...she didn't really talk about her former master that much. The following weeks we spent together are only consists of training, teasing, acquiring knowledge about the sentients and the other kings. She never mentioned anything about her former boss and much about her companions that much.
As my thoughts ran further deep within, a small sipping feeling is slowly crawling from the inside. I don't know how to describe it but I don't like it. I really don't.
Juha...
What are you hiding from me?
"Oh? It seems she didn't tell you, huh? No matter. I'll tell you the story in her stead. With the amount of time you spent with Juha, you must have known at least that she hates our lord, right?"
I nod. On the very first day we met, she told me her bizarre tale about her time with the one she trained to be a powerful sentient. Their journey to be the most powerful beings of this planet. The journey to reach that mountain peak.
"What did she told you?"
I told him the conversation we had except the part where we made our agreement to help each ithwer
"I see. Well she is not wrong for the most part." Garkan said with a grin.
"He was a man of greatness. A man who had achieved something that many can only dream off. The man who commanded a mighty army of the Undead, the Sentient Lord. When I joined him, he was already feared by all. His name had struck fear to many of his adversaries. With his might, he singlehandedly formed the largest nest this world has ever witnessed. He created a new age of civilization. A civilization that is mostly composed of undead. With his might, he continued to enlarge his nest and brought in new batch of undead under his heel.
However, despite his accomplishment, he knew that his nest needed order and stability. The undead as a whole barely had any consciousness. They behave like erratic animals and more than that, he cannot be there everytime to restore order whenever chaos occurs. With this realization, he created a group. A group that controls each part of the nest to prevent it from occurring ever again. This group will be known as the twenty generals. Each generals are assigned to govern every certain parts of the nest. Every single member of the generals is a former king and has enough strength to decimate this place singlehandedly.
With our combined might along with his guidance, we had spread far and wide. Many undead had joined on our glorious conquest and soon, a great empire now stood at the top of the world. We had it all. The hannis now has barely any left of them. The era of the dead is now upon us...however...
Small opposition is now starting to arise. There have been small attacks being taken to any of the far side of our nest. Many of our brethren have been slaughtered. It turns out that the hannis are still fighting back. They are quite relentless. They pillage any settlement that is involved in my Lord's nest. And not to mention, that Juha." His expression now hold a great amount of hostility.
"Juha, also known by the moniker of White Face is a very eccentric woman. She showed everyone she met, her clear view of disgust towards them. She treated everyone with as little as respect as she could except the lord. Naturally everyone did not like her attitude and a few challenged her for a duel. She accepted and took their heads from their mutilated bodies."
What? The same teasing, flirtatious Juha is like that before? That is not eccentric, bro. That is a full blown psychotic.
"Despite this, our lord is forgiving. He gave her a chance. Time and time again and as years go by, she is starting to mellow out. She started to act...differently."
I noticed his slight shiver. So you're a victim too, huh? I almost let out a chuckle but I held it in.
"The years went by and our Sentient Lord's nest still continued to get stronger but the hanni's with their frequent attacks is starting to annoy him. We retaliated but they're like a pile of insistent insects. It just won't pass through their thick skulls that they're already fighting a losing battle. We tried to track them but it seemed that they had learned to fully mask their trails. Their continues attacks had annoyed us to no end. Mostly our Sentient Lord...that is until...
One night, with his great wisdom, he realized that if there's still any living thing on this planet, there will be always that shall stand in his way. And on that particular night, our lord had deemed all life as obsolete."
What? My eyes widened at the last sentence that left his mouth.
"What does the other living beings had to do with your issues with the hannis?" I questioned. The sudden goal from their claimed Sentient Lord took me by surprise. It just doesn't make any sense.
"You know, Juha asked him the same thing and you know how that turned out."
What?
Juha...did not agree with the plan?
"I hope this doesn't affect your decision now. It would be very unwise of you to do so otherwise." Garka's tone suddenly shifted to that of predator. However I didn't cower.
"Why would you want to kill all life of this planet anyway? Do you have any idea what would happen if you did?"
"Yes! This world shall undergo a great change. There shall be trees, plant life, and those pesky animals no longer. This world will become a pure home world of the dead. It will be...a paradise.
"Of course. After our lord had cleansed all those pesky vermin, a newly formed utopia will be born. Our lord shall rule the world devoid of any adversaries. This planet witness the new chapter of its life."
I narrowed my eyes at him. The way he talks. The big smile on his face. He is delusional and I bet this so called Sentient Lord is one as well. I'd they call all the living things in this planet, this planet will be a pure wasteland. It will no longer be able to sustain life.
"You're insane."
"No I am not. I'm just given a greater understanding from our lord. I cannot blame you for lack insight. However, that will change if you join us. King Jerome, slayer of Labak and Graha, serve our lord and he will welcome you to the paradise he promised."
"...."
"Come now, what will it be?"
"My answer..."
I looked into his covered eyes as I uttered my word without hesitation.
"Is no."
