Chapter 124 - Facing the God of War, the final “Odyssey”.

I continued attacking with ice and light magic, but he destroyed them all without any difficulty. His divine energy as the god of war was powerful and kept advancing. His mighty body could shatter my ice or light spears with a mere punch or slap.

His strength, speed, and ferocity became even more devastating and overwhelming, as if he had decided to end this battle once and for all. His legs began gathering divine energy and an immense, Herculean force.

With a leap, he lunged toward me, using his divine spear as a means to finish me off.

My eyes followed each of his movements—recording, analyzing, calculating, sensing, perceiving. My Observation Haki did not miss a single detail. When he was close enough, I finally moved.

My hands came together. In my right hand, a set of extremely condensed white threads, glowing with fiery traces and possessing immense piercing and destructive power. In my left hand, a tornado infused with strong natural wind energy. The wind merged with the threads, and with my command, I spoke, as if to heighten the drama:

"Wind Overheat!!"

As if a divine and natural disaster was about to unfold, everything seemed to freeze for a mere second before the attacks clashed.

Flames and fierce winds scattered in all directions, waves of divine energy and pure force spreading like the tides of the ocean.

The continuous clash left all onlookers in shock.

My father and mother watched with awe and great surprise.

"It seems our son has truly become stronger and more versatile…" my mother sighed, her tone filled with both pride and astonishment.

"Yes… Strength is undoubtedly important… The problem is the trouble that comes with gaining more of it." My father responded, murmuring the last part under his breath, as if accepting the inevitability of my path while silently vowing not to stand in my way.

As the moments passed, the threads and winds began to break apart more and more frequently. His weapon and body were closing in on me. Realizing my disadvantage against higher-ranked gods, I could only sigh. Of course, I still had other powerful means at my disposal—my soul techniques, divine flames, or even my divine artifact—but I had no intention of revealing anything today.

My mental power spread outward, focusing on a specific object. Noticing it, I withdrew my left hand from the attack. With its potential reduced, my assault began breaking apart even faster. I didn't even look anymore—my left-hand fingers quickly formed a few signs, a method I usually avoided but had acquired from the store after my encounter with Loki.

As his weapon seemed ready to pierce my hand, I smiled and let the attack hit me.

My body appeared to be engulfed and destroyed by the energy. However, my mother and father didn't even blink—proof of their confidence in me—while my uncle furrowed his brows before quickly returning to his usual demeanor.

His gaze shifted between a stone that had been reduced to dust and my body, which had reappeared at a distance.

"Substitution Jutsu definitely has its uses," I murmured with a smile. While not as powerful as space-related abilities, it had its own practical and tactical advantages.

"An interesting trick, I must say, nephew. It closely resembles the techniques used by gods of deception, lies, and illusion—something witches could also employ."

His gaze fixed on me even more intensely.

"You are truly a mystery. There's a strange energy within you… The use of witch and sorcerer magic, infused powers in your body, soul-based attacks… And I still sense other things you're hiding from me. But regardless, you are an admirable opponent—your knowledge of combat and weaponry is impressive enough to surprise me, and I can even perceive concepts and inspirations I hadn't considered before. That said…"

Uncle Ares spoke as if analyzing and observing me carefully. However, he let the thought trail off, deciding to leave it alone for now, though he made a note in his mind:

"It's possible… that even Father could suffer some damage from this boy. Either way, it's none of my business… and he deserves it."

Since my uncle said nothing more, I stored all my items and weapons, stretching my body. I had expended a considerable amount of my physical, soul, and internal energy, reinforcing the necessity for even greater strength.

After all, he was the god of war, and despite his power, he wasn't the king of his pantheon nor on par with certain other beings—let alone even greater entities.

Even though my versatility allowed me to fight him and at least escape if necessary, I knew there was still much to improve.

Afterward, we rested and talked for a while. Once that was over, I prepared to use Kai Kai to return home.

"Nephew, take this object," my uncle said, handing me a small stone.

"With this, I will be able to contact you if I ever require your help in the future."

"Okay," I agreed. He mentioned that his request wouldn't come immediately but someday when he needed something. The only clue he gave me was that it might involve his son.

In the end, my uncle embraced me and my parents tightly. He seemed to whisper something to my father during their hug, but I couldn't hear it—and I had no intention of prying unless asked.

With our farewells complete, my parents placed their hands on my shoulders. I raised a finger to my forehead, closed my eyes, focused on dimensional and spatial rifts, and spoke:

"Kai Kai."

With traces of mystical and divine power, we vanished.

Uncle Ares, watching this, furrowed his brow once more.

"That boy… Well, I hope he does good for both Earth and Olympus. In any case, war and battle fuel my power, and I may need more strength soon."

He muttered before walking forward like a nomadic warrior, his steps carrying him toward what seemed both a direction and a specific destination.

The battlefield was left behind. Wreckage and remnants of energy still vibrated in the air.

Minutes after everyone had departed, a new group arrived—emerging from golden portals. They analyzed the area, casting spells to restore the terrain and contain or dispel the lingering energy.

Once their work was done, they disappeared in a burst of magical circles.

Soon after, helicopters and military aircraft descended. A heavily armed team, along with scientists and researchers, landed and began collecting samples, attempting to understand the events that had taken place. They searched for any artifacts or clues that could be studied. Some members arrived more swiftly, using eagle-like flight and shields.

Unfortunately for the "gods" or extraterrestrials who occasionally visited Earth and lived in their own supremacy, humanity—through scientific and technological advancement—had begun investigating and even studying what they left behind. And perhaps, one day, they would be able to stand against these beings with pride and strength.

After all, brilliant minds like Tony Stark, the Osborns, the Pyms, Reed Richards, Victor von Doom, and others were already making their moves on Earth…
