Chapter 121 - The fight against the Chimeras II.

Our battle continued.

"Ice Make: Ice Lances."

My hands moved together, forming a large blue magic circle. From it, icy lances flew into the air, brimming with intense frosty energy and power.

The Chimera, no longer timid, used its powerful claws and sturdy body to easily shatter my ice lances. Moving like the wind, I appeared near it and drove a powerful wind arrow into its stomach—a cutting, destructive force. This action brought me dangerously close to the beast. Predictably, it used its paw to try to crush me while a poisonous gas began emanating from the serpent head on its back.

Fortunately, my Borg was already activated, preventing any damage and keeping the gas at bay. The wind surrounding me dispersed the poison gently. Even as I remained embedded in the ground, a new idea struck me.

I modified my Borg, enhancing it with my light magic. Deforming the orange-yellow barrier in milliseconds, I combined its power with my magic to push the Chimera skyward. I then used strong winds to levitate it further, making it easier to launch into the air.

Once it was airborne, I teleported above it.

At that height, a vast number of sharp threads infused with my internal energy, bearing the attribute of light, surged toward its body. With no ability to fly or maneuver, and given the high speed of my attack, the Chimera was doomed to fall.

"BOOM!"

The impact caused a massive explosion, waves of energy rippling outward. Red liquid splattered across the sky.

I considered using my soul flames, phantom clan soul techniques, or sword energy, but I held back to avoid drawing too much attention or revealing too much to Ares—or anyone else observing. I especially wanted to avoid using the divine flame unless absolutely necessary.

As the smoke and dust settled, my eyes pierced through the air, spotting its body. The Chimera was breathing heavily, its form riddled with countless cuts and wounds, barely able to move.

I continued to stare at it coldly and teleported beside its head. With my power of domination pressing down on it, I drew my lightsaber, which gleamed with a beautiful, destructive white light.

Like a certain Sith who cut off his son's hand, I made the Chimera's head fly through the air. Its weakened body, overwhelmed by my oppressive energy, couldn't resist in the slightest.

With my lightsaber sheathed, I began moving toward the area where my parents were fighting.

However…

Out of nowhere, a serpent's head lunged at me with ferocity and stealth, ready to poison and cleave my body in two. My left hand, which had been resting by my side, moved swiftly. In an instant, the serpent's head and tail were completely severed.

I stored its body in my inventory, planning to burn it later.

3Third-Person POV

Far from the young man battling his opponent—or perhaps "massacring" was the better word—another intense battle was unfolding.

A tall, muscular, and elegant man wielded a unique weapon: a massive two-handed sword in his right hand and a small round shield in his left. Both weapons radiated divine and magical energy, inscribed with ancient runes tied to Olympus and Greek magic.

The man's body exuded immense power and ferocity, rivaling that of a god of war, though there were hints of gentleness in the undercurrents of his energy.

He moved with incredible speed, dodging a sharp claw aimed at him while raising his shield to block the head of a serpent spewing toxic venom.

The poison attempted to creep toward him, but his divine energy repelled it effortlessly. Simultaneously, rays of light energy descended from the heavens, obliterating the venom.

Employing an advanced footwork technique—one that, upon close observation, bore traces of a certain martial art learned from a man in orange robes—he appeared behind one of the Chimeras. With a mighty swing of his sword, he cleaved half of its body in one strike.

A heart-wrenching scream echoed:

"GRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

The injured Chimera's apparent partner roared in fury, charging ferociously to assist. However, two obstacles delayed its movement.

The first was the evident: tendrils of shadow energy ensnared its limbs. The second was a sphere of light energy that struck its face with precision.

The divine warrior remained undeterred, attacking with even greater force and vigor. Waves of divine energy surged from his sword, tearing apart one of the Chimera's bodies. His strategy seemed clear: eliminate one opponent first.

The second Chimera, however, wasn't going to allow this. The shadow tendrils weren't strong enough to fully restrain it.

Noticing this, his shield was thrown into the sky. While still airborne, it grew to a gigantic size. As it expanded, its characteristics and appearance became clearer.

The shield was partly made of an ancient brown wood, while the rest of its body consisted of some type of divine material.

When the shield hovered above the Chimera, it released an overwhelming pressure. A sort of cage made of divine energy—white, red, and pink lights intertwined—wrapped tightly around the creature's entire body, starting from its limbs and working its way to its core. The Chimera struggled violently, pushing its limits to break free, and the divine cage began to tremble slightly under its immense strength.

"I can't maintain this for long… this is the ultimate ability of my shield," the divine warrior muttered as he prepared for his next move.

The large sword in his hand, with a handle crafted from metal and leather and a blade forged from divine material, was inscribed with intricate patterns. Among the symbols, there was a depiction of a divine tiger etched along its length. The blade began to charge with energy—both from within the warrior and the surrounding atmosphere. It grew larger, sharper, and radiated intense heat and waves of power in the same white-red-pink hue as the shield. The sense of danger it emitted became nearly unbearable.

To make matters worse for the already-wounded Chimera, which was on the verge of being struck by a colossal attack, another assault was launched.

A beautiful woman, hovering slightly above and at a distance, unleashed attacks of pure darkness. These dark strikes shot from her hands, coiling around the Chimera and further restraining its movements, inflicting even more damage.

Outside the Battlefield

Two figures stood together, quietly observing the unfolding combat. Both were intently focused on the details of the battle, discussing it in low tones.

"Uncle, what do you think?"

"To be honest, your father has excellent control over divine energy, but there's still room for him to refine how he channels it. As for the fight itself, I'm quite impressed. His combat style seems to have developed further than before. What impresses me the most is how some of the newer techniques and inspirations he's using appear to rival my own in quality."

I remained silent, knowing he was referring to the techniques my father had developed after drawing inspiration from our past duels. The combat styles I possess, after all, were honed against gods far stronger than even the God of War himself.

"Your mother also wields an incredible power for a mortal," he continued. "Her ability to manipulate both light and darkness is something that shouldn't even be possible. Her level of power is astonishing, and the same goes for her precise control and skillful manipulation of energy."

I nodded in agreement but had no time to reply further. A massive explosion of energy erupted from the battlefield, shaking the area violently. At the same time, I felt a distinct presence. My Haki and eyes picked up on a streak of energy heading directly toward this location.

My expression darkened, irritation flashing across my face as a cold, murderous aura began to emanate from my body.
