"Valerie…" Caleb closed his eyes and sighed deeply.
Looking at his subtle frown, I got a feeling that he wouldn't agree to my demands so easily. And I was right to feel that way.
"I already told you that Pricilla is nothing more than a friend to me. Nothing is going on between us. So, there's absolutely no reason for you to be jealous and demand that I spend my every waking moment with you."
His voice was calm, but his words were harsh enough to slice through my heart.
I gulped to soothe the soreness in my throat. And I spoke as gently as I could, "Caleb, I'm not asking you to spend every second of your day with me. I'm simply saying that I want you to prioritize me before your friends. That's all. Is that too hard for you to agree to?"
